  1. staying at the portofino bay for 7 nights ... Going with my husband and 2 teenage boys...is the beach pool a fun place to hang out and do they play beach tunes or just Italian music... Also any ideas on dining around the area , we will have a car .... Also ideas on lunch places nearby.... Is the food at the pool outrageous?
Are there any restaurants in the area that deliver?
We enjoy seafood, and Italian food.. We already plan to eat at Columbia and also Bahama Breeze as we really enjoyed them last time we were in Orlando. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

since you have a car Teak neighbor grill is not a far drive at all from pbh.

i went to google it and not all of the listings had the full menu except maybe the third ? one listed

i don't do italian food so can't say much about the eateries on site at pbh.
did hit sals a couple of times.

since you love italian food, you picked the correct hotel to stay at!

great music in the pool areas.

Pool is fun, great music and activities too. Good slide. We enjoyed the food (and drinks) at the pool restaurant, pricing was on the same "overpriced theme park scale" as everywhere else. You can order drinks and food from the loungers without having to sit in the restaurant if you want too.

We didnt go offsite, but below are my reviews on site and citywalk restaurants. We stayed in October.

Trattoria del Porto - We ate the breakfast buffet most mornings, very nice selection of food. We enjoyed it.
Lunch was okay as well, but i got a burger and fries. I enjoyed the ac and being able to sitdown.

Mama Della's Ristorante - We ate here for dinner one night. It was okay, about like an olive garden.

Sal's Market Deli - We got a pizza one night. It was just okay. I think we enjoyed more not having to go out. They have a few tables for dine in, or you can take it to your room.

CityWalk

Vivo Italian Kitchen - We ate there twice and loved it both times. Service and food were great.

Thanks,
I read about Vivo being great... We will probably skip mamma Delle and eat at Vivo instead .... Any other city walk restaurants that you ate at and would recommend?

Thank you... Glad the pool is fun! Was worried that it would be to quiet for my sons.. Glad they play great music too

No, we ran around the parks alot and grabbed food here and there. We were suppose to eat at Mythos at Island of Adventure, but i cant remember why we didnt go, must have been a scheduling conflict. I'll definitely try that on the next trip.

I have to add a dissenting voice on Mama Della's. It is REALLY expensive, even for theme park food. Our meal for 6 people (3 of them children!) cost $170, for food no better than Olive Garden. The chicken on my carbonara was so bad as to be inedible (and may possibly actually have been spoiled, given how sick I was the next day after eating two bites of it).

The biggest drawback to Portofino, IMO, is that all of the food is Italian, but we liked the Trattoria just fine for breakfast, and Sal's was good too. And the resort itself is really beautiful.

The only restaurant that gets pretty consistently high marks is Bice and it's pretty high priced from what I understand.

Wasn't overally impressed with the restaurants.... Didn't try Bice, but it's not the kinda place you would eat everynight. Cowfish in Citywalk is our favourite place to eat dinner.
