How quick is an express pass?

Hi guys this is my first trip to America (and first post :teeth:). Me and my bestfriend are going together and have booked a one night stay at Royal Pacific resort to get the express passes, so my question is how much time do these save? Like if the normal wait time is one hour what would the express line likely be?

(We're going in mid June)

Thanks for your help :)

We went at the beginning of June last year, and I would say it was anywhere from 0-10 minutes for most rides.

Welcome and congrats on your first post! :welcome:
My family are big fans of Express Pass. I would say if the standby line was an hour express pass would be around 10 min. Enjoy your trip!

Oh wow that's a lot quicker than I was expecting for June!!

It is set up to be 20 minutes the max time you are waiting in The express line
Based this if regular lines are one hour waits
Normally, it will not take that long

Thats good news :)

How do they make sure its 20 mins max?

We're going mid June, too. And I have non-Americans coming as well! Can't help you regarding the EP info but yay for first trips to the US and first trips to Orlando!

To keep it simple, picture a long line and a short line - Universal does a very good job of loading both lines at the same rate, so the express line allows you to ride faster.

Keep in mind, the queues for many of these rides are immersive and set up the story of the ride. With express pass, you skip many of these. There are some threads you can search that discuss which rides have queues that are worth the wait. Now that I have seen them all, Express Pass rules!

For two rides that don't have Express Pass - Gringotts and Forbidden Journey - you almost want a 20-30 minute wait for your first ride to see everything - the queues are definitely part of the attraction!

Welcome to the dis Abbi.........

You won't regret staying one night at RPR for two days EP!

To give you an example........last year the regular queue for Hulk was at 90 minute wait, we went on 3 times with EP in less than 15 minutes. It is good.

Longest we have ever waited was 15 minutes on Despicable Me ride.......it was a Saturday, place was mobbed and regular queue was over 100 minutes.

Some people may have waited longer, but in all our visits that is the longest wait we have ever had, we spend a lot of our time in the parks and are always grateful for EP.

I have also never seen the EP queue longer than the regular queue........the TM make sure the EP queue moves quickly if it looks like it is getting longer........

You'll have a blast!

I've never seen the regular queue for Mummy or Spiderman despite riding dozens of times. Next trip (December) we will.

:D I've always wanted to visit the USA, so Disney/Universal was definitely first on the list

Thanks :)

I've been told how good the Harry Potter queues are. I've been fighting all my urges to YouTube them since I booked in October!

Great thanks for the info :) I'm just hoping Hulk is ready when we go it looks amazing

The mummy is one I can't wait for, looks so good in videos :D

oddly enough, minions can take longer than you'd expect.

mid-june - you might just miss the summer herd. last week in June seems to be a big bump normally, with Kong it will be more crowded.

It is such a cute ride!

Despicable Me is one ride that you will be glad to have EP for........even very early in the morning the queue always builds up quickly. It's very rare there not to be a queue.

And you see and can dance with the minions when you exit the ride.........Gru was also there last year for pics along with minions..........

I may be slightly obsessed with the minions so that will definitely be ridden many times :rolleyes1

And our tickets arrived today :D

Not on this topic, but do people think of Uber as the best way to get from POFQ to RPR (very early in the morning :D)?

We ride DM many times.........the pre show is so good too. Congrats on the tickets.......

Lots of folks use Uber and are happy with them, we always have a hire car so can`t help with that. There is a transportation board too, have a bimble over there and I`m sure you`ll get lots of advice. But Uber seem decent.

Good idea, I forgot about the rest of the forum. Think Harry Potter has made me concentrate on Universal too much :D

We used Uber and Lyft while staying at RPR in January. Nothing but good experiences.
