Have any Aussie's rented Disney Villas by buying points through a broker?

and does deluxe just mean they have kitchenettes? In regards to the suites Colin? What makes it deluxe IYKWIM?

With Disney resorts there are three levels of resort. Value which includes the three All Stars, POP Century and Art of Animation. Moderate which includes Port Orleans, Caribbean Beach and others. Deluxe is all the DVC resorts and also Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Animal Kingdom Lodges, Wilderness Lodge and the Epcot Resort area which includes Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club. Many of these are DVC resorts as well as hotel type accommodation.

Moderate and Deluxe resort size are usually smaller than the values and have better transport, Deluxes are often closer to a theme park. All star resorts are around 1600 to 1900 rooms, Pop Century 2880 rooms. Boardwalk Villas is 524 rooms.

All DVC resorts have small kitchenette with microwave, fridge. One bedrooms and up have full kitchen and washer/dryer. If you are staying in a DVC resort and you have a studio room the communal laundry is free.

Excellent explanation thank you.

Can I ask please, do you know if the studio rooms in the deluxe resorts are larger than the studio rooms in value and moderate resorts?

It may pay to compare the prices against Undercover Tourist. Quite a few of us ANZACS (and Americans/Brits etc) have used UT without any issue for theme parks in Orlando.

Hi :) I've just started to compare prices and the 7 day hopper ticket appears to be US$40 more expensive. Why would this be when the UT site says I should be saving $17 ticket? What am I missing...

I am not the best person to ask as I have only stayed in DVC rooms since 1999. I would think room sizes would be similar.

Tax.

From memory, if you're comparing it to the Disney listed price on their website, it doesn't include tax until you get to the check-out.

BINGO! Thanks again :)

If you are planning on using UT, I recommend you consider signing up for the MouseSavers newsletters.

They post a newsletter once a month and there is usually a link in their newsletters to buy tix from UT. If you go through their link, there is an additional $1 per ticket discount. I know it's not much, but if you are buying 3 or 4 tickets, that's a (bad) coffee there.

Deluxe rooms are generally bigger than moderate and value rooms but you will need to check on the specific studios for various DVC resorts to see what the sizes are between the actual deluxe (DVC and non-DVC) resorts. It varies with the rooms in the newer resorts generally being smaller than the older ones.

I'll check that one. Think I may have subscribed for DL last year but not sure if still getting and I never paid attention to the DW stuff so I will now. I'm all up for saving anywhere I can! Does DW have Starbucks too? We all found a beverage we liked there and the lemon pound cake was delish!!!

Starbucks coffee can be found at WDW. I think the one might be at Epcot and the other at Main Street at Magic Kingdom. Both are staffed by Disney Cast Members, and I think you'll find the standard Starbucks beverage menu there. Not sure about the food/pastry items as there might be a mix of Disney snacks in the stores. I also think I read that they were also at Disney Springs.
