How quickly do Tsum Tsums sell out online?

I'm expecting Star Wars to be even more nuts than others - but how quickly do these sell out online? Do I need a strategy? Are they mine once they are in my cart? So I can add the ones I want and not worry about them selling out while I am deciding on others? Or do I want to check out ASAP? Is the website temperamental/glitchy right when they release? I think I read on an older thread midnight pacific time the night before? I appreciate any advice.

I have had items "disappear" from my cart when they have run out of stock while I was still shopping--so if you really want something--check out before it disappears--I even complained to disneystore.com and there was nothing they could do--tsum tsums are a hot item and disappear very quickly when new ones come out--so don't hesitate to check out because they will disappear from your cart if the stock is running out--I think people turn around and sell them on EBAY for more than they paid!

I think things are in flux with the Tsum Tsums at this point. A few months ago, it was not uncommon for some of the newly released designs to sell out within the first 10 minutes (or less) of being released. Not all designs, just select ones. For example, all but three of the Peter Pan designs sold out in the first 20 minutes. The Marvel designs have all lasted much longer, so either they produced more of those or they were not as popular.

For the last few releases (e.g., the Lion King, the Valentine Box Set, Zootopia, and the birthday pair) most of the designs have been lasting a lot longer. For example, you can still get 2/3rds of the Lion King characters (Scar, Ed, and Musafa sold out early), all but one of the Zootopia (the Sloth), the Birthday ones, and the Valentine's Day set. My inclination is to say that they've really increased production of the Tsum Tsums so they'll probably be more readily available in the future. I would also guess that there will continue to be one or two designs per set that sell out quickly (although, I don't think quickly is going to be as quick anymore).

In terms of the website, the site can be temperamental right when the new Tsum Tsums are released because of high traffic on the servers. I recommend logging in before they're released if you're going that route. The new Tsum Tsums are released somewhere between midnight and about 12:30 am Pacific Time (it's not consistent, but it's somewhere within that window generally).

I've had items removed from my cart (a note saying they were now sold out or unavailable), but I've also been able to go through with the order and then got an email about a day later saying of the items were unavailable. So unfortunately, the only way to know if you really got the item is to wait until you receive the emailing saying your items have shipped.

As noted, the Star Wars Tsum Tsums were released this morning (a little past 12:15 am PST). Like the Zootopia series, almost all were still available the next morning (I checked again around 8:00 am PST) except one (in the case of Zootopia it was the Sloth and in the case of Star Wars it was C3PO). So at this point, it's hard to say whether it's worth being up at midnight or not. I think you stand a pretty good chance of getting them if you wait until the morning, but you might miss out on one or two of them. Next Tsum Tsum Tuesday (3/1) is going to be Tangled. It'll be interesting to see what happens with those...

Just as a follow-up for this morning's release of the Tangled, PotC, Easter Tsum Tsums, Bambi & Friends, and NY Mickey & Minnie. All were available around 12:12 am this morning. I checked again around 8:00 am PST and all were still available except one (one of the PotC animals). Another check just now, added one more PotC to the sold out list (the dog and the parrot), but the rest were still available.

They also restocked some of the Star Wars Tsum Tsums (now the mini-Chewie is "sold out", but the rest, including C3PO, are back in stock).

So overall, I do think it means that they're producing more of each Tsum Tsums in these newer releases so they aren't as hard to get. Next up is the Spiderman Collection, which I have to say, doesn't really interest me, so I won't have to up in the middle of the night to get them!
