Just got into a contract of 300 points SSR at $18500 total. Works out to $61.67 per point. There are NO points for 2015 but it has all of 2016 which come in March or April (so no fees due 2015 but of course 2016 fees to be paid beginning of the year).

I did read that Disney has picked up their FROR purchases recently. Any chance this one will get through?

Fingers crossed!

It's all in the numbers, DVD plugs the numbers in, checks their wait list and reacts accordingly.

This is always a fun game to play ;).

Are there any other issues such as bankruptcy, power of attorney attachments, divorce, and so on? Is it being sold by a private individual or a trust?

I voted yes but I think it's on the fence. DVC mainly uses ROFR to keep you guessing, basically exactly what you're asking, will it pass? That's not to say they're past picking up resales to fill their retail wait list and make a few $$$ but that's not their main goal with ROFR now or in the past.

I'd probably say no due to the fact of the cost PP,but I hope it does for your sake. I had 2 different SSR contracts taken last month that were only 50pts each @83 p.p.

No other issues - sold by private individual :)

Good luck!! I hope it passes but it's very low for today's market. I see Disney rofr'ing vero in the mid 40s....

Your SSR is only $15 away and maybe too tempting...

I voted yes. Mostly wishful thinking. I would like to see prices come down a bit because I want to buy another contract but I hate to pay these inflated prices.

I'm in the same boat as you. I would like to add on, but prices are high. My question is are we really seeing inflated prices, or is this just the new normal with Direct prices continuing to rise? Worst yet what if prices continue to rise
And SSR is near $100 a point in the next year or so?

I find it odd that SSR prices are not decreasing as there seems to be many more listings for that in comparison to the other properties. There are 81 SSR from October alone on the search engine, granted that isn't exactly a complete list.

I think they will come down a little but maybe not as much as I would like. i can't believe the increase in price in such a short period of time. I bought BCV just over three years ago and the cost per point has almost doubled. It's insane! I could sell now for a decent profit. I'm going to sit tight and continue to watch the market...it can't continue to go up...at least I hope not.

Who would have thought that a timeshare would ever be worth more than you paid for it, right? Only Disney, with their amazing control of all markets where they sell things, would be able to sell an expiring date timeshare and have it go up in value. It seems like it could be possible to buy at resale prices and travel for a dozen years while your kids are little and want to go every year, and then sell and possibly get back most or all of your money. All you will have paid for is the annual fees which are WAY cheaper than staying in a cash reservation.

Then again, even if the kids grow out of it, us adults might want to keep going every year!

I have been waiting ROFR since 10/30 (SSR 175@86 135/14 0/15 175/16 175/17)

Good Luck !

You would have heard by now- would you mind updating us :)?

Best of luck with ROFR. Given today's market this is a pretty good deal.

I haven't heard yet! I'm checking with the company today to find out what they've heard. On a recent purchase they told us Disney was taking longer than 30 days but I thought I remembered 30 days being the limit!
