Come on and Live the Magic! - Sept. 2015 Disneyland TR *Completed 9/6*!

I'm sorry that meeting the Princesses was kind of a bust! But I love the picture of Belle in her gown!

YAY for Mickey and Minnie!! That's great that you got to meet them on the first day. And I'm happy everyone in line stood together to meet both of them!

I could literally spend hours looking in Disney stores!

That is so great you got to meet Mickey and Minnie together like that in their 60th outfits! Definitely would have been bummed to not meet Minnie too after being on line and thinking you would. We had something similar but for Anna and Elsa where when we got to the front they let us know it was only Elsa - but that Anna would be back later if you'd want to come back later - except there it is fastpass only so you don't really have the option to come back later

70 minutes is a lot - but really a once in a lifetime scenario to get them in those outfits!

All caught up! LOVE that you got to meet Mickey and Minnie together in their adorable 60th clothes! I really hope they are still out when I go in February. I would definitely wait 70 minutes for that! I'm also going to have to remember to look up in the Emporium! How cool is all that detail? :) And I can't believe you didn't just snag those two adorable plushies! I might have to when I go - they look too cute to resist.

Oh and Pluto's dog tag? I'm dying of cuteness overload right now!

Wow Pluto has some bling on his tag! I wonder if it's like that all the time or if it's special for the anniversary. We've never met Pluto before.

I love that the line banded together to wait for Minnie to return! I would have been upset too. I'm glad you got to meet them both, they are so cute!

I'm honestly not sure, but I would guess that it's part of his 60th costume!

I was glad other people started saying something, it really all worked out nicely!

That's ok, at least we got nice pictures with them! And finally meeting Belle in her gown was great!

I was SO glad to have been able to meet them on the first day instead of having to hunt them down on our other days.

I totally agree with that!! :thumbsup2

We were so happy to have met them together. It was a long wait but this was definitely one of the things on the top of our list to do, so totally worth it. I was glad we were able to do it on our first day when we really didn't have much set plans too. That really stinks about Anna & Elsa, and also very bizarre :confused3 I'm sorry that happened!

Thanks! I'm pretty sure you will still be able to catch them in those outfits when you go in February! It was totally worth the long wait :goodvibes

The details in the Emporium were incredible! Definitely spent a lot of time looking at everything.

Pluto's dog tag is the cutest!!

Day 1 - Disneyland Forever

I had heard waiting in the Emporium was a good strategy to get back onto Main Street for the fireworks and sure enough it worked out really well! Once the final floats passed by, we went out onto the sidewalk and rushed into the street with the masses to get a spot. We didn't have to wait to long before Disneyland Forever started!

Tinkerbell flying!

Mickey ears!

Mary Poppins Section, one of my favorite parts!

Tangled..floating lanterns!

Winnie the Pooh..honeycombs and heffalumps!

The animal themed section..Lion King and Jungle Book!

Little Mermaid!

Nemo!

Frozen..I liked that it snowed too.

I can't even begin to explain how magical this show was! The projections on the buildings are awesome! I enjoyed watching it on Main Street very much. I would have loved to see it a little closer up by the hub, but it seems like you REALLY need to camp out to get those spots!

One thing to note about this night. When it came time for the finale, I was so wrapped up in the moment I didn't notice that a big element of the show was missing...THE GRAND FINALE! The music was playing and the projections were going, but there were no actual fireworks! Granted it was also my first time seeing it, so I didn't know exactly how the show played out. It didn't really occur to me until a later night when the finale did happen and I said "hey wait a minute, we didn't see any of this the first night!". I even compared my videos from the first night to a different night, and the difference really is huge. I'm glad we ended up seeing it again or we would have been missing out!

According to my notes we stopped to collect some pressed pennies and also visited the train station before heading out of the park. They were doing one final roundtrip on the railroad but we decided not to do it..looking back I kind of wish we did as we never got a chance to ride!

The plan was to explore DtD a little. We headed out towards the esplanade and it was just WALL TO WALL people. We were all moving at a smalls pace. I guess it was a combination of boths parks closing, people going to DtD, and people trying to get to the trams. We soldiered on and eventually made it to our destination- World of Disney. Good thing that's one of the first stores!

We looked around but it was honestly so packed, and the checkout lines were insane. We decided to just call it a night, and anything we wanted to buy could mostly be found in the parks. We pushed our way through the crowds AGAIN and finally found some relief! We made it back to our room, took some showers, and hit the hay. It was quite the day for us and it was only going to get busier from here. But we couldn't have asked for a better first day!!

Up next...We use our Magic Morning

wow, that is a great spot for Celebrate the Magic. Glad you enjoyed it, though kinda funny about the finale not really happening - good thing you got to see it another time though

The DTD area there always seems pretty crowded so I can't even imagine right after both parks closed. Oh well.

It was a great spot, especially to see the projections on the buildings. Really weird that the finale didn't happen, I wonder what went wrong!

It wasn't the end of the world, I honestly didn't think we'd spent too much time there anywhere. I guess it's something I should have figured considering everything is right next to each other vs at WDW.

The fireworks look AMAZING!! I love the Main Street projections. The floating lanterns <3<3<3

Yay! All caught up here. I'm really excited to read this TR since I will be going there next January. I know nothing about DL so this should be helpful.

I love Pluto's dog tag... love the details!

Oh man, Mickey and Minnie in their 60's outfits, gorgeous and I can easily see why you waited and got worried about missing one. That seems like a pretty silly thing to expect people to just take the pic with only one of them. Your pictures with them turned out awesome!

Love the details in the shops, thanks for sharing the pictures!

Wow, Disneyland Forever looks so magical. I haven't researched much about it, but your photos really do the talking. Very cool!

Mickey & Minnie were a definite highlight for us :)

I just love how Disney makes sure every part of their parks is done to perfection!

Disneyland Forever is awesome, I'm so glad you enjoyed the pictures.

Day 2, September 17 - Magic Morning at Disneyland

Our first day waking up in Disney! Isn't it always an exciting feeling? We got up, got ready, and then stopped to take advantage of the free breakfast our hotel offered.

We were starting our day at Disneyland. The park opened at 10am but we decided to use our Magic Morning today, so would be getting in at 9am! I wanted us to be there early in hopes of getting a jump on Peter Pan's Flight.

But first we had to stop and take some pics under this sign :)

I can't remember if we had to wait at the turnstiles or if we were let into the park right away, but I do know at some point we made it onto Main Street with the masses, waiting for the rope to drop. There was a significant crowd in front of us, but I was still hopeful about getting on Peter Pan's Flight. Well the rope was dropped and we hustled along with everyone else...only to find the line for Peter Pan's Flight was already extended onto the bridge through the castle with a posted wait of 50 minutes. WHAT!? This is not how I was hoping the day would start! So I made the decision for us to skip it for now..there was no way we were going to waste our MM in line! So instead we headed over to Alice in Wonderland. It was a posted 20 minute wait but the line was very small and only took about 10 minutes.

This was a first for both of us and we LOVED it! We walked off that ride so happy, I honestly think it was a blessing that this turned out to be our first ride! A great start to our day :goodvibes

While we were waiting in line, I checked the app and noticed the Matterhorn was temporarily down. This was another ride I was hoping to do during MM. When we got off Alice it was operating...but at a 60 minute posted wait. WHAT THE HECK! Again, not the way I was expecting this morning to go. We decided to skip it for now and headed to Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. It was a posted 30 minute wait but I knew from looking at the line that it was nowhere near that long, and only ended up taking 10 minutes. Mom & I both remember this ride from WDW (and I also got to ride this at DL back in 2012) so we were excited for it. And while we enjoyed it, I think our memories of it are more nostalgic than anything and it wasn't quite what we remembered!

Next up we did
Pinocchio's Daring Journey. I love dark rides and was excited to try this one out for the first time! We both enjoyed this one a lot!

We were going to do Snow White's Scary Adventure but surprise, it was temporarily down. We enjoyed some of the Fantasyland sights :)

I really regret not asking someone to take a picture of both of us in those teacups!

I just loved how themed this restroom area was! I didn't take a picture but inside the stalls were decorated as playing cards!

Up next...We continue our morning in Fantasyland

Awesome pictures!! That's a good tip about exploring the Emporium and waiting for the fireworks. Do you think it would have been better more in the hub? I wouldn't want to necissarily miss those projections on Main Street either. I'm so torn about where to stake out!

Loving the Alice restroom detail! You really have an eye for catching the small things. Great report so far. :)

I cannot wait to try some of those dark rides that are not at WDW. I have some memories of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride from my childhood so I'm also curious to see how the real thing stacks up.

So how does the Magic Morning thing work with an offsite hotel? I was thinking it was just for onsite guests so I'm confused.

Thanks! I think watching from the hub would be nice, as you can see the projections that are on the castle itself and you are closer to everything. BUT I really liked the atmosphere of Main Street, and the projections on the building were really awesome! Also, I think if you want to watch in the hub you will really need to stake out a spot early.

Thank you :) It's easy to get wrapped up in the go-go-go mentality so it was nice to take some time to admire all the details!

I love that DL has all those dark rides, they really are so classic!

Magic Morning is for onsite guests, but also if you buy a 3, 4 or 5 day ticket you are eligible for 1 Magic Morning at Disneyland with your ticket! It's a nice little perk!

It is crazy how quickly Fantasyland gets crowded. it's like everyone wants to do Peter Pan so everyone goes there and then it has an hour wait steady for the rest of the day - just nuts!

Glad you got on Alice though - at least when we were there that one built up a line later as well, so a good one to do.

Great that you did get on a number of the dark rides. I really liked Pinocchio as well!

It's so crazy! I guess just similar to how it used to be at WDW until Mine Train and Anna & Elsa kinda helped balance out the crowds.

I was glad to get on Alice early because I had heard that one builds up. It was nice to get most of the dark rides done that morning!

Day 2 - Pixie Hollow and Castle Walkthrough!

By this time it was 10am and the park was officially open. So with our MM hour we were able to get done 3 rides. A little disappointing, but not all things go according to plan, right?

We then headed over to Pixie Hollow to meet some fairies! I could've sworn I read that this wasn't open during MM, but we got there right at 10 and the fairies were already meeting and it was a posted 30 minute wait. Nonetheless, I didn't mind waiting because I was very excited to meet not only Tink but one of her friends as well! The waiting area was really cute, with little fairy statues everywhere.

After about 25 minutes we were meeting our first fairy. And which friend did we get to see?

IRIDESSA!!

Next up was Tink! She was very friendly and chatty. I love her setup here! The PP photographer did a great job of getting different interaction angles.

After that we still had some time before we wanted to head to Toontown, so we decided to do the Castle Walkthrough. Of course we had to stop and admire the castle a little bit first!

And mom took one of my favorite pics of myself of the trip:

And Mom got this great photo of Maleficent's shadow!

This was really cool and I'm glad we got to do it!

Up next....We head to Toontown with a surprise along the way!
