I have a couple of questions about Hollywood HHN if anyone is able to help...

In Orlando, if you have a day ticket and HHN ticket you can wait in a holding area in the park for HHN rather than leaving to re-enter for the event. Is there anything similar at Hollywood if you've been at the studios for the day?

And does anyone happen to know what the event dates were last year?

And lastly, which hotel would you recommend staying in at Universal?

Fab, thanks for your reply.

I'll look into The Garland - there's no advantage to staying on site is there?

Just had a look at the link you sent me, really useful - thank you again!!

Where is the holding area? Does it include a handy bar like Orlando? :thumbsup2

Definitely going to book front of the line (is this a separate ticket to the event I need to purchase?) but is VIP worth the investment? (Not sure what prices actually are).

Are there any multi-night tickets like the Frequent Fear pass?

Sorry, lots of questions!!

No bar in the USH holding area.

There are special things for the VIP's. So far I have never heard of anyone saying it's not worth the price.

Yes. there are multi-night tickets available. Follow the event on Twitter for up to the moment info. They go fast!

mind boggling the twitter feed only divulges the 1st night's date and vaguely states tickets will go on sale in August. FB is no better, sigh. Makes me appreciate US Orlando, nice to be able to save up the $ needed prior to the event.

Appears the majority of guests @ USH event are locals. For the rest of us it's either good luck trying to score a cheap flight from East to West coast with a few weeks' notice of dates or take a stab (lol) in the dark and pick a day based upon last year's calendar.

Trying to decide if anticipated $ difference between FOTL and VIP is 'worth it' to us. I have read a few reviews bashing the VIP complaining about food of all things.

Can anybody confirm that the price for the FOTL and VIP packages typically include the park admission for HHN too?

No. The FOTL or VIP packages during the day do not include park admission for HHN. But HHN has FOTL and VIP packages good for HHN only.

I don't think I was clear, sorry.

Depending on the event nights offered, plan is to arrive @ BUR from LAS the morning of...then, check into hotel and likely not enter the park for normal hours, just for HHN. We've been to USH in the past. The Hilton bills itself as being 'onsite'. I vaguely recall seeing a hotel slightly down the hill from the park entrance that I'd consider walking distance. Hope it's the same one so we can stumble back on foot after the event.

Back on topic - On fan blogs for last year's event, I saw price ranges listed for HHN tickets as to FOTL or VIP options. Was trying to determine if those prices also included the standard ticket media for HHN. Sounds as though it would via a package?:confused3

USO offers many different tix options for HHN it can get confusing. VIP tours are booked thru their special services department. I just want to make sure I understand what's offered @ USH & the total pricing structure before I decide which works best for us. Unfortunately, I can't find an official price list from last year.

Just read that no alcohol is served at HHN Hollywood - that's very different to Orlando!

Do they actually serve alcohol in the park during the day normally, or do you need to be in Citywalk for a bevvy?

Beer and wine are sold during normal operating hours at Universal Hollywood.

We didn't go to HHN, but upon leaving the park yesterday, there was already a massive crowd outside the gates about 5pm waiting to enter for the Halloween event. I believe a few attractions opened earlier than the advertised start time of 7pm.

Where abouts is the holding area if you've had a day ticket and staying in the park for HHN?

This year there was no holding area. You got a wristband that allowed you to stay in the park. Those with the bands could see the early JBWKZ show and the early entry maze.

Were you restricted to certain areas of the park?
How long between main park guests getting booted out and early entry starting?

Yes. They needed time to get some of the ScareZones set up so those areas were restricted.
Early entry was 60 minutes before the park closed. And it takes another 60 minutes for all
the day park guests to leave. Just under 2 hours the park was mixed. Those without the
wristbands could only more towards the exit. Those with the bands could roam freely even
though not everything was up and going.

Cool, any recommendations for somewhere to have a bite to eat / drink during that time, as I assume there's at least an hour where none of the attractions are really open yet?
