We are taking our 2 & 5 year old children to Disney World for the first time in November. We will only be at the MK for 1 day, so obviously we will not be able to get to everything. What would you say are the rides/attraction we absolutely should not miss?

At that age, I'd do the iconic stuff: tea cups, flying Dumbo elephants, Small World, Peter Pan, Tiki Room, people mover and/or WDW railroad, and some character M&Gs.

I agree my little ones love all the classics, try to get a FastPass for Peter Pan the line can get long, I would also recommend the Little Mermaid ride, all my kids ask to go on it again and again. Buzz Lightyear is fun too, we love to see who gets the highest score. Hope you guys have a magical time! pixiedust:

Add the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh to that list. My 9 year old still loves it! Mickey's Philharmagic is also fun at that age.

Dumbo, winning the pooh, Peter pan, Aladdin carpets, ariel ride, 7dmt depending on height of 2 yo. Tiki room, train, monsters Inc laugh floor

Girls or boys? For rides, I would say Peter Pan, Small World, Pooh, Ariel ride, Dumbo, Philharmagic, tea cups, jungle cruise, and Aladdin's magic carpets in that order of importance. Definitely try to get a FP+ for Peter Pan if you can as that line is consistently long. At those ages, my DD was a character nut- to her they were more important than rides so it would just depend on your kids for that. For DD, no trip would be complete without meeting Cinderella. Ariel can be met in the mornings with shorter lines too. I would think Mickey would be a must. Tink is usually popular with that age too. It really just depends on which characters are their favorites.

Peter Pan is our favorite and can't miss it! Also, definitely It's a Small World!

Just wanted to say that my DD - who is not a scaredy cat - is absolutely terrified of Philharmagic. We have tried it 2x and she hates it.

I would prioritize your day according to favorite characters and/or movies. Also, I would skip tea cups and magic carpets if you are only there for a day. They are fine rides but not anything unique.

We have always like Haunted Mansion, pirates of the Caribbean and the Country Bears.

Add the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh to that list.

In addition to all above, Small world, barnstormer for 5 year old and play near Casey train for 2 year old, little mermaid, Aladdin, autopia for 5 year old - find the nearby walking garbage bin for the two year old, buzz for five year old, M&G maybe but some little kids don't like these

In addition to all of the above, you can use rider swap to let the 5-yr-old ride Big Thunder, Mine Train, and Splash Mountain (and Space Mountain, if they're at least 44 inches tall).

The reverse question is, what to skip?? With only one day, at those ages, I would skip Stitch (2 yr old cannot/should not do, and not worth the time to swap), most meet n greets (maybe just do 1-2, because they can take awhile and you can't predict the kids' reactions), Pirates of the Caribbean (it's an iconic ride, but our almost 2-year-old found it too dark, and it can take awhile), Peter Pan, sadly, if you don't have a fastpass (also iconic, but the line takes forever, and you only have 1 day), the treehouse and tom sawyer island (both take a fair amount of time and energy), Country Bear Jamboree, and Hall of Presidents. I would try to fit in everything else.

My kids were 5 and 2 and they loved Buzz, People Mover, almost all the Fantasyland rides, and ended up liking Pirates.

The only duds were Aladdin (don't know why, they loved Dumbo), and my 2 year old was frightened by the Mine Train.

I agree with almost all of this, except DON'T SKIP TOM SAWYER!! So much of Disney involves standing in line, which can be hard on a toddler. Letting your kids run free on the island may actually serve to recharge their batteries and help them regain some patience. You know your kids best, OP, but for mine, we never pass by an opportunity for unstructured play. Tom Sawyer Island is one of our favorite attractions.

As others have said. The classics. This includes Pirates, Small World, Peter Pan, Pooh.
Transportation. Boats, Cars, and Trains, including the people mover.
You'll have a fun time.

I would say:
Peter Pan
Winnie The Pooh
Little Mermaid ride
Teacups
Dumbo

My kids didn't care for Tiki Room, Stitch, Barnstormer

The mountains are a blast of you do rider swap! My kids preferred Big Thunder Mountain to 7DMT
