Anyone know when they plan to reopen? Wasn't sure if they were just full of reservations or waiting for an exact opening date

1) Originally scheduled for 11/20/2015.
2) Currently well behind schedule, as the kitchen rehab is running into problems.
3) The new kitchen has to service both LTT and Skipper's Cantina.
4) NOT OFFICIAL, but we keep hearing rumors of the first week in December (missing Thanksgiving, but good for several Christmas Parties).

I suspected that they weren't taking reservations for after the original completion date because it was running behind and they have no idea when it will open for sure. I also suspect that once they do have an idea when it will open they'll open up booking for it. A shame it won't be ready for Thanksgiving too

not to hijack the thread but will Garden Grill sort of fill the void left by not being able to go to LTT?

A character meal there would be awesome! I remember the days of colonial Mickey and Minnie!!!

:thumbsup2

I keep hoping it's not further postponed. Really want to book an ADR for March!

We did Garden Grill for the first time a few days ago. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised! The food was good (although, probably not as good as LTT) and when the restaurant rotated away from the chaos at the front entrance, it was really nice! It is comparable to LTT, but not quite the same. Not sure I could see spending a holiday or special meal there ... I think mostly this is because the building that houses the restaurant (along with Soarin' and Living with the Land etc ... ) just has no atmosphere to speak of.

Yep, not a bad alternative to LTT:

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Living-with-the-Land Harvest-inspired Farmer’s Salad
. . . entrée:.. Turkey Breast with Lemon Caper Sauce
. . . dessert:. Skillet Cake with Vanilla Bean Whipped Cream
.
NOTE1: The eatery revolves within The Land pavilion and portions of spin include farm
scenes from the boat ride. The food is plentiful, but quality about average. You pay for
the characters and not the food or food quality. Food is served family style and there is
always more, as it is All You Care To Enjoy. Characters include Mickey, Pluto, Chip-n-Dale.
As the eatery is one of the smaller character locales, the character interaction is GREAT.
.
NOTE2: The lower deck tables have one-side seats which can make talking among the
table diners tough, especially if you have six-to-eight people, which takes about 12-feet
in linear distance. This means that you cannot easily stand to interact with characters.
The upper has standard tables that seat people facing each other and you can stand and
interact. I recommend upper tier for characters; lower for viewing the river-ride scenery.
There is little chance of motion sickness, as the eatery moves so slowly. If you do have
a concern, the upper level happens rarely.
