DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Friday evening and in bed already, but not for any good reason. DD decided to share her head cold with the family and I was the last to get it. I think the house reeks of Vicks Vapor Rub and Hall's Cough Drops , but can't smell anything. At least it seems to just be a 72 hour deal. Nice reminder to get a flu shot this year.

My agenda today changed a bit. With TS Erika coming towards us, Operation Move the Crap became Operation Hunker Down. Just a tropical storm but no sense getting caught with your pants down (so to speak). Bought water and batteries when Danny popped up so went to Publix yesterday to get dog food and some canned food. Car is already gassed up. Will be closing the downstairs shutters today but will wait for tomorrow for the upstairs ones. Local channels are in full hurricane awareness mode. For the most part they are not freaking out. Not a big deal but you never know.

Stay safe and best wises to the pirate:princess:pirate: on another year.

...Please stop making references to yourself and not wearing clothes. :lmao:
.

I would hope that common decency would prevent us from having to call for a man law, but whatever it takes!

Randall! Welcome back, how was the cruise?

Yea, welcome back boss man. Looking forward to hearing about the trip! Hope we didn't leave too big of a mess for you to clean up.

Thank you guys, the cruise was Great, Nassau sucked.

Randall, you're back! What's wrong with it? :lmao:

Glad you made it back from vacation. You can add a trip for me - Oct 10-13 All Star Movies; 13-16 Vero Beach Resort

Thank you, Page One Updated! :thumbsup2

Erica is a disorganized mess. As of the last update, path is moving west and may hit landfall in the panhandle. S. Florida is barely on the edge of the projected path. It will be a good rain event which we need and Sunday/Monday will be sloppy days in all of Florida. Don't expect much of change in schedule at WDW.

No need to go to the boat level. We're still thinking TOTWL Sunday. Saturday, we were thinking DTD, but then thought about going to the Boardwalk area, enjoying food and entertainment, and watch Illuminations from there. Anyway, still flexible. Let me know what works.

Saturday we are at MK in the AM and then EPCOT in the PM. We're celebrating youngest DD's Bday at Garden Grill. So if you do the Boardwalk, that'd certainly be in my vicinity!

Woke up dreaming I was in the middle of the Somme battlefield during WWI. Seems Erica is no more but her remnants are not going quietly into the night. Incredible lightening storm. Lots of fireworks outside including some near hits. I will take a look in the morning to see if any trees around the neighborhood went kablooey (kablooey is in my spell check and for some reason I find that interesting). Decided to go outside holding up my 2 iron. The adage is true, even God can't hit a 2 iron. Love storms as long as the roof doesn't leak and the roof is not leaking. Nature can be amazing.

Man, that sucks. Feel better and thanks for the best to the PPP.

Not a fan of Nassau. Glad you otherwise had fun on the cruise.

Happy birthday to your daughter and I hope she has a great time. Have a blast.

Looks like a rainy Sunday here. I was hoping to play tennis with my girls today, but it may not happen.

Sounds like a good idea. The trick for us is when we arrive Saturday. I'll keep you posted.

I remember my UPS nights, working outdoors on the parking ramp for all the airplanes, and watching the sky dance with lightening. Impressive stuff when there are no buildings around. I also remember watching the wall of water of rain as it would march towards us. That wasn't fun.

Top O the Morning Dads. Got some touch up painting around the house today and a big hunk of meat to cook on the grill then back to the grind tomorrow. Enjoy your Sunday gents.

Agree, been their a few times on cruises and the last time stayed on ship and time before that we just got off the ship for a couple of hours looked around in the market area, grabbed lunch and a drink at Senior Frogs then back on the ship to enjoy the boat.

Morning boys. Got back from the World a couple ago and am starting to recover now.
Catching up on threads and I'm starting here.

The neighborhood got a little battered last night but mostly OK. I had some branches fall in the back yard. Not a lot of wind which is good. Expected to rain off and on today and tomorrow, but overall, not a big deal. I guess something hit a transformer around the corner, power and tree cutting people are out. Still have power here.

'Morning all...
Hope all are doing well.
This morning's view from my desk at work ain't quite as good as last Monday's view.
As the old punch line goes: "Alright, breaks over; back on your heads!"

Alas, it is, however, 1 more day closer to retirement. Only 7382 more to go! :)

Top O the Morning Dads. Another Monday / one week closer to whatever you are looking forward to.

Happy to say Operation Get The Crap Out Of The Warehouse is almost complete. Need to sweep out the place and let them know the place is vacated. Ton of stuff in the living room but I can take my time separating wheat from chaff. Already found some framed pictures of my time in NY and an autographed poster for DD from the play Wicked. Idina Manzel was still in her role and her John Handcock is on it. Funny, she signed it Adel Azime. She missed seeing Chenoweth by a few weeks.

How many hours in the countdown?

Beautiful day today and it seems we are back to the afternoon rain shower routine. Power restored to the neighbors.
