Theme Park Monopoly Versions

So I just purchased the latest Disney Theme Parks Monopoly version. This is version III with the pop up castle in the middle of the board.

But it made me wonder. What have the other versions been like? Are they worth tracking down? I can't seem to find the information on the internet, so I thought I'd come here. Surely someone here has the various editions so they can help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if you're using the same internet that I am, but I couldn't NOT find the other versions :). OK, maybe not the 2002 version, but the 2001 version is all over the place.

Here are some ebay links:

Hope this helps you out a bit. There are plenty of other listings for the 2001 version, which may give a bit more information. I didn't actually open any of the items. Good luck.

I was looking for descriptions of what the products are like, not places to buy them. I found plenty of places to buy them, too.

Sorry I wasn't clear.

Some ebay sellers are better than others. I hoped one of them would have given a solid description for you. Or at least a very clear photo of either the pieces or the back of the box. Otherwise, not sure how much other information you would need. It's Monopoly. Sounds like only the new one has the pop up of the castle. The rest, you can look into the tokens, etc.

Just what western civilization has been waiting for, yet another branded version of Monopoly. Disney can join the ranks of all the other sundry entertainment brands, retailers, manufacturers, etc. who have gone down this very, very beaten path.

We have the Disney villains Monopoly. We bought it in June when it was pouring down rain at Disney Hilton Head and we needed to occupy the kids for the night. Being that we are villains fans we enjoyed it, but it's not over the top exciting (and there are some questionable characters listed as villains ex: Cheshire Cat)

Funny... I've seen it at DTD all the time, but it was standing out at me while I was in the small gift shop at HHI, too. At least they had something there for me to look at. But I agree -- I've never considered Cheshire Cat to be a villain. The movie already had the Queen of Hearts, and the cat wasn't a villain anyway.

Eh, I don't have much of a problem with it. Just means that there's something out there for everyone, no matter what you happen to be a fan of.

I have the second edition...the one in the metal tin featuring a random assortment of characters on the cover. The tokens include Mickey Ear Hat, Mr. Toad ride vehicle, a bus, a cruise ship, a Dumbo ride vehicle, a Test Track ride vehicle, Cinderella's Carriage, and a Carousel Horse. It has little red Toontown houses for houses and yellow castles for Mansions. Wishes are used instead of Money, and the Wishes feature Figment, Merlin, the Three Fairies, the Fairy Godmother, Elliot, and the Blue Fairy. The properties include Grizzly River Run, Storybook Cruise, Mission: Space, Cinderella Carousel, the Great Movie Ride, Space Mountain, Sleeping Beauty Castle (DLHK), IaSW, Moteurs...Action! (DLP), Stitch's Great Escape, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Flying Carpets Over Agrabah, Sleeping Beauty Castle (DLP), Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, Test Track, Kali River Rapids, Ariel's Playground, Cinderella's Castle (Tokyo DL), Sun Wheel, Wishes, Expeidtion Everest, the Haunted Mansion, Disney Magic, and Disney Wonder. The transportation propoerties are DIsney Railroad, DIsney Monorail, Disney Ferry, and Disney Bus.

That's great information. It never occurred to me that they would need to incorporate that 'other' park in California into the game (or even internationally, for that matter).

As far as I know, all three versions have featured Disneyland at least. The third version, the one you have, uses the Disneyland version of It's a Small World, California Screamin' and other attractions. I'd honestly be stunned if they didn't include Disneyland attractions in a Theme Park edition of the game. After all, Disneyland is the original park and if they only used WDW attractions, the game would probably be called the Walt Disney World Edition (instead of Theme Park Edition).

Figment_jii,

Thanks so much. That's what I was hoping to learn. Now to decide if I need to get it or not. Sounds like there are some of the same properties and some different ones.

For the record, here's what mine has.

Tokens: Princess Minnie, Abominable Snowman, Figment, Sorcerer Mickey, Tourist Goofy, Tinker Bell, and the Partners Statue. (I call Partners Statue now!)

The money is actually money. The Toontown houses are yellow and the Castles are blue.

The transportation is exactly the same.

The properties from smallest to largest are:
Skyway, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Pirates of the Caribbean, Enchanted Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise
Muppet Vision 3D, Great Movie Ride, Hollywood Tower Hotel
Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, Kilimanjaro Safaris
Grizzly River Run, California Screamin', Toy Story Mania
Test Track, Mission: Space, Soarin'
King Arthur Carousel, Dumbo, it's a small world
Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsled

You can find detailed information and pictures about all versions of Disney Monopoly, and virtually any other board games in existence on the boardgamegeek website. Here's a link: https://boardgamegeek.com/geeksearch.php?action=search&objecttype=boardgame&q=disney+monopoly&B1=Go
I saw this site initially, but had trouble figuring out which photos went with which editions of the Theme Park version of Monopoly (also, it looks likely only had the first and third edition listed). It has them all lumped together without necessarily distinguishing them.

I got really excited and thought: I need this! But it's £100 in the UK from Amazon....I love Disney but not quite that much :sad2:

Edit: Found it at the Disney store for £30....much more like it!
