Disney Infinity

I have a son who is almost 5. I am debating on getting him the new Star Wars Disney Infinity Starter Set for his birthday, but wanted to pre-order, if I decide, to get the bonuses. Do you feel that a 5 year old would like it or would it be over his head and motor skills to control the characters on the screen? I was also thinking it would be fun for family game nights...something to do together as a family, but didn't know if it was worth the money. Also, should I buy the 3.0 edition? I didn't know if it would be wiser to get the 2.0 and "update" it and buy the separate characters. I think the wiser move would be to get one of the 3.0 sets. I want to make sure everything is backward compatible so I can by older figures for him. I appreciate any help! Thank you!

I would probably get the 3.0 set, as for it being hard for a 5 year old, maybe some aspects of the game - but if you were to have family game nights with it I believe he would be fine with someone guiding him along and eventually get the hang of it himself :)

The game itself isn't too hard, especially if your kid has played games before. The aspects I am talking about is more of understanding the mechanics of some of the toys in the toybox.

I would have to agree. Get the 3.0 because then you can backplay (assuming it has that compatibility with the other games). I bought 1.0 just as 2.0 came out but i still love playing with the 1.0 characters but i think i will upgrade soon.
I know 1.0 isn't all that hard to play really, a lot of free roam, so assuming 3.0 is the same he should be capable of playing it
