Interactive Wand Advice Please

We have no idea how my Wife got picked over the kids that were in the room other than she's 5ft nothing! Or it could be that we are English. I don't know how they decide

spell spot DA.jpg Ok -watch out for this one-the fountain on bottom will turn on but every once in a while water will shoot out of the top as well-and if you are watching from a short distance away-look down-if you are in a WET spot move - unless you want to get wet. This was one of my kids' favorite spells to try to get unsuspecting people wet lol. It is a bit tricky too-they were experts at doing spells by the end of day 2 and were assisting other kids to do the spell. There is a trick to the spells-if you look closely you will see a tiny screen with a red lit dot-that is what reads the wand -kinda like xbox kinnect-have to stand in correct spot and face that area. Also helps identify the "secret" spell areas :) We had sooo much fun in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!

My 16-year old daughter and I just returned from a few days at Universal - our first trip. We hit up Ollivander's the evening we arrived, and the line was nonexistent. Loved the show. Afterwards, we both went in to look at the wands…I desperately wanted Harry Potter's wand, but I kept being drawn to Malfoy's wand…which I ended up getting. So, yes, it's true - you don't pick the wand; the wand picks you. Daughter and I had a ball going around both parks, doing the spells. Agree with a PP about enjoying the magic at Diagon Alley a bit more than Hogsmeade. Here's a tip - there a few places (two that I know of) in DA that have "hidden" spells…be watching to see if someone does them, or ask someone if they know where they are. A clue: one of them may be near the Apothecary shop. ;)

Thank you all for your replies, my son has just been reading them all and has already asked that if he gets picked can he buy the wand that chose him and the one he wants! lol I knew that was coming!

Any more interactive wand stories and pics would be fab, thanks so much :goodvibes

My son was chosen initially, but the wand maker asked if he wanted his sister to come up, too, and he said "Yes," which delighted the wand maker...she said that little brothers generally throw their big sisters under the Knight Bus when asked. LOL Luckily (for Universal; unluckily for my wallet), my kids actually really love each other and like being together. Anyway...because we had two kids chosen, Universal took us for two wands/$90 in the first 10 minutes in the park. Awesome.

Jtowntoflorida - your story made me laugh! I can only imagine what great memories were made that trip! Well worth the $$!
