Need Help with 2017 Trip

So I'm starting to plan a family trip to WDW in Sept. of 2017. Going would be my little brother, his wife, their (will be 7 at that time) daughter, my mom, my husband and myself. We had the idea that instead of two rooms it would be easier to do one big room. We are hoping to keep the cost near what it was when we were looking at separate rooms.
My brother and I are heavy set, my husband is over 6 ft and both he and my mom are claustrophobic. So I know that something like the family suite at AoA or the cabins at FW aren't going to work. We were looking at the 2 bedroom villa's through the booking engine (cause I can't seem to find the Grand's). I don't know much about which is more expensive and we aren't really picky about where we stay.
I was thinking that doing a point buy through a DVC member might be cheaper than the flat cost to Disney. We want to add the dining either way so not sure if we can with DVC.

So my question is how much would it cost for enough points and dining to do the least expensive 2 bedroom villa??

The Point Charts for 2017 won't be out for a while (probably Dec or Jan), so getting an accurate cost for your dates is not currently possible.

As far as 2-bedroom villas go, those at Old Key West (OKW) are going to be the largest (1410 sq ft) and one of the least expensive point wise (only the Values at AKV are less points and they are also 500 sq ft smaller). The OKW 2-bedrooms sleep 9 (King in Master, 2 queens in 2nd bedroom, pull out sofa (queen size) & pull out chair (twin size) in living room).

Disney Dining Plans are available with DVC Reservations, but 2017 pricing will not be out for a nearly a year (2016 prices just recently came out).

Thank you for the info on OKW. I know that the prices for 2017 haven't come out yet. Been using 2016 to get an idea of what it will cost although i know (and am planning) that it will be a bit higher the next year.

We won't know if there's going to be any points reallocations until they release the 2017 charts, but the 2016 would give you a possible low end number.

Not sure if you are aware of David's Vacation Club Rentals. He has a calculator that will show the point values and his rental rates for the room. Once the 2017 points are out, he will update his rates.

There's no "inflation" on points. They can be reallocated, but they can't increase. It would be the price you pay per point that could increase.

You can find the size of each room here: http://disboards.com/threads/dvc-resource-center.2823943/#post-43070016

As part of the point reallocation, they could shift points between room sizes which could lead to a point increase in a room size.

Yes, for every point added, another must be taken away; net zero change. In the 22 year since DVC was created, that's happened a handful of time.
