Adding some luxury this year

Wow! $550 for a welcome package!

Even one of the "cheap" options, $74 for plain Mickey ears, a pen, and a $1 box of animal crackers.
The $550 package had me super skeptical, but I ordered the Mickey Kool cooler and snacks with a Mickey Mylar balloon and it ended up being $58 per room with tax and delivery. It seems like a lot of bang for the buck and the kids will reuse the cooler at the pool.

Just got back from our trip and it was awesome.
I changed the Wishes party to the Pirates and Pals cruise. While we all had a fun time, it isn't something we would do again.
The in-room treat of the Mickey Kool Snack was a bit of a bust. I ordered one for both rooms and the kids really didn't care about them.
Arranged for a massage for hubby at AKL and it was just meh so that also goes into the never again pile.

Now for the things that we will absolutely do again:
VIP touring. Yes. Yes. Yes. We loved our guide and she knew her stuff. We toured for 6 hours (MK) and 7 hours (AK, HS) on two days. We even sat in front of Phil Holmes at the Frozen show and got to chat with him a bit.
The cabana at Typhoon Lagoon was perfect. We napped during a rain shower and it was a peaceful home base.
Club level was a great addition. The lounge was a great place to grab breakfast or a beer, but the staff was really what made it a "must do" for us. Extremely helpful and friendly.

Because of some pixie dust that resulted in extra fast passes, we did not do the Ultimate thrill tour between our guide days. It's still on our to do list for a future trip.

It was a whirlwind wonderful trip but its so nice to be home so we can get some rest!

Sounds like you all had a great time!!! Two days of VIP sounds awesome! We may try it when our family goes in 2017, I better start saving for it, due to the price :-)

1. Hoop Dee Doo Revue dinner show (unpretentious, funny, and tasty- a great way to relax)
2. Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom (a hundred times better than the standard safari)
3. Epcot Aqua Seas Tour (get to snorkel inside the Epcot aquarium- the snorkel device makes you float, so it's fine for those with all levels of experience)
4. Reserve a town car to take you to and from the airport rather than using DME (they'll handle your bags at the airport, and it's much faster)

There appears to be a number of these threads -LOOK AT WHAT WE ARE BUYING FOR AN OUTRAGEOUS SUM OF MONEY! Luxury! Once-in-a-lifetime! Make it special! How could you not shell out 350.00 to sit under a wooden structure at Typhoon Lagoon. OMG, they have people that will take your burger order AND it comes with ...ready...WATER on ICE (plus towels)

That's kind of rude. Some folks get a cabana and truly enjoy it.
It may be excessive to spend on them to lots of us, but Disney obviously has guests that enjoy a splurge now and then.
We splurged on an Illuminations cruise with Breathless on New Year's Eve once; it was a splurge, but sipping champagne in front of the other Illuminations cruises watching the show was priceless. Memories last forever.
