I have a loved one with a similar situation. Sadly non-smokers get easily mis-diagnosed as a cold or brochitus because they don't smoke.

If you have trouble walking, consider bringing a wheelchair or renting one at the port. You get expedited boarding, debarking so you don't need to stand as long. In strong waves in open waters, the wheelchair makes it easier to navigate the hallways.

I am lucky that right now I am physically fine. Dealing with side affects of chemo pill, like rash, losing hair, diarrhea etc. But I am still pretty active with a low impact dance class and water aerobics.

Sorry to be joining this party so late. My family and I will also be on this cruise. It will be our 8th Disney cruise. It will be my dh (who just had a total knee replacement in April), our 2 boys who are 16 and 15 and myself. Can't wait to meet everyone. It's going to be a fantastic cruise. July 6th can't get here soon enough. Safe travels to everyone.

THIS is EXACTLY why I'm so adamant about not breathing in second hand or third hand smoke and I'm especially diligent when it comes to DS (1) being around smokers! It makes me so angry when someone imposes their horrible habit onto someone else. Especially since it has the ability to cause cancer in the non-smoking person. Ever since that guy from Taxi (Andy Garcia?) died from cancer caused by second hand smoke, I don't mess around with that.

Okay, off my soapbox now...

I also wanted to send you my best wishes and prayers. I'm so glad you're in good spirits and you are taking this cruise! I have a good friend who was diagnosed with stage 4 thymic cancer three years ago. By the time he was diagnosed, it had already spread to one lung. He's a non-smoker, but his wife smokes. He has said many times, that he (and his oncologist) believes he's doing so well, because he has such a positive attitude. I wish you all the best. Enjoy your cruise!!!

I just recently found out and joined the DISboard. My family (2 kids) will be going on our first Alaskan cruise. We are all excited! I hope you can add me in the group. For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, if no one comes forward to organize a FE for this cruise, anyone can organize the FE right in this thread and just share a pdf document through a private conversation confidentially with just those who want to join in! Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine managing meet and Fish Extender discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is completely up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM (conversation).

Oh yeah. There was a smoky haze and an odor of burning wood while we were docked and having breakfast just before leaving the ship in Vancouver on Tuesday AM too.
