When are the fall discounts usually announced? Besides Disney Visa discounts, are there still Annual Passholder discounts? We're DVC members, but looking for a room on cash in October.

That's a big secret...LOL...you never quite know when when (or IF) discounts will be announced - since they seem to have no problem filling resorts without discounts, they are not as frequent, or as generous, as they used to be...here's a link that shows past special offers...no guarantee that there will be any, or that they will be anything like in past years, but it makes me feel better looking at this:

Just came across this thread. I am absolutely thrilled with the renderings, because to me the BC decor has always seemed sub-par. I just hope they re-do all the tile. Hope someone posts photos if they come across any!

I'm arriving in 10 days and was wondering if I should put in a request for a refurb room but I haven't heard that any rooms are finished.

Reports are that they haven't even started at BCV yet.

We just got back last weekend and they haven't even begun yet. People are getting confused because the BC may have started, but the villas are not suppose to start until August. I was there for 18 days and can tell you there was nothing going on other than some power washing of balconies. The refurb is going on at the BWV right now.

Guest Room renovations 10/13/2014- 8/22/2015. The Villas will be renovated 5/31/2015-12/16/2015.

As you can see the confusion is some DVC folks thought the villas were being done when it's the regular Beach Club rooms. The villas are due to begin next week.

We are checking in June 13th. I e-mailed them about 2 months ago and they assured me I would be placed in a re-frubed room, I was skeptical then and more so now...smjj

I'm guessing they will have started and may have some rooms blocked off and lots of noise. Like BWV they will probably start at the top and work down.

Let us know how that works out. Maybe they plan to put you in a room at the Beach Club Resort. At least you know before you arrive. Since they will only be on their second week of a 6 month reburb, I don't think too many rooms will be done yet.

I am sure they will not do that, we have a 2 bedroom villa reserved for the 6 of us...smjj

Assured? It would only be a request even if they had started working on them, and requests are never guaranteed.

I can't wait to see the refurb when they are done. Both of our studios were in run down shape. I am hoping for a refurbed BWV room in August, or September, or October. I figured with 3 trips there I may snag a newly done room hopefully on one of those trips.

I know reguest are just that and as I said I am skeptical already but this was not a request. I e-mailed them of some concerns I had about the room conditions. They in turn called me about 2 weeks later and over the phone they stated they would put us in a refrub. If we get one great but as I stated I understand the rules on request or wishes even if they personally call you and say it....smjj

How did you make out? We arrive in about two weeks, hoping to get lucky and get a refurbished room!

We very much enjoyed our trip but as to the room, well!!! We did not get a refrub'ed room and the location was not the best(451). The condition of the room was:
Microwave was broken, they replaced it with a new one and between the call to fix and the new one being installed they gave us a counter top one. When they replaced it they did not take the counter top one away so we had 2 the entire stay. There was no hairdryer and one had to be delivered. The large frying pan and the broiler pan had food on them so we washed everything to be safe. One of the pillows in the master had what appeared to be a small amount of blood on it, I did not tell my wife about it or she would have gone nuts, I just at night put it on the floor and said nothing. The entire room was scratched and worn out but clean otherwise. I am sure they did not repair knowing they were doing a refrub. Overall we very much like our trip and will probably stay there again, the kids loved the pool area and our youngest would have spent the entire time there if we let him...smjj
