Let's speculate about Polynesian some more!

Also, I would not want to be in one of the villas one floor below a busy restaurant or lounge. lol
I would have normally agreed but we recently stayed in a 1bdrm right below Toppolino’s and it was AMAZING. The view was stunning (you could see 3 parks from here!) and we heard and smelled nothing from upstairs. So they can build with great soundproofing, Riviera proves it.

I wish they had a lounge up there if nothing else, an extension of Trader Sam’s would be incredible.

I definetly think a theme park or fireworks view room is in the point chart. It's part of the sales tactic. People shop and budget off of standard view. The total number of points is fixed. Charging more for premium views allow for the stanard views to come out for less.

Transportation will be interesting to watch but I can see Disney making the monorail work well for poly for dvc sales and direct hotel sales. Monorail capacity is fixed but they can shift capacity off of the TTC guests. Every other local resort monorail could skip the TTC to preserve capacity for resort guests. TTC capacity can be replaced with more riverboats. If there is bus capacity at the MK gate, maybe a premium off-site parking that has a direct bus to MK like a resort.

The problem with that is that those at GF and CR who are going to Epcot need every one to stop at TTC.

So, that’s not going to work.

What if you made the express monorail peak direction only - and stop at resorts afterwards?
I like the magic bands idea with the resort monorail. but you'll also need to check dining reservations. And some may just want to explore the lobby of other hotels.

Mornings when more people are going to Magic Kingdom:
"Express" / Counterclockwise Monorail: TTC -> MK -> GF -> Poly -> TTC
"Resort" / Clockwise Monorail: CR -> Poly -> GF-> MK-> CR. CR to Epcot change at Poly
Evenings when more people are leaving Magic Kingdom:
"Express" / Clockwise Monorail: MK -> TTC -> GF -> Poly -> MK . Epcot to CR change at Poly
"Resort" / Counterclockwise Monorail: MK-> GF -> Poly -> CR.

This way the empty express train picks up GF and Poly guests going to/from Epcot, while creating more capacity for more Poly guests to go to MK.

If I can keep dreaming, more monorail capacity from TTC to MK would be wonderful. The bottlenecks seem to be at MK at the time it takes for the single platform on the express monorail for people to get off that stops disney from running more monorails. If you can add a new platform at MK, you could probably run monorails more frequently on the existing tracks.

I think they should check magic bands and allow only those staying at the resorts to use the resort monorail. Have it set up like at the parks, if it doesn’t light up that you are staying at a resort then the CM attendant will direct you back to the TTC monorail.
They actually did this for a time many, many years ago, at least when MK closed and large crowds descended on the monorails. It was well before MBs existed so those using the resort monorail were asked to show room keys. One issue was that those with dinner reservations at resort restaurants would not have room keys, but these days that should be less of a problem as the dinner reservation would be detectable on the MB.

If they can check you for the parking lot, they can check you for the monorail. Just need a cast member with an iPad ❤️ I am very much in favor of restricting that resort monorail. Everyone else can take the boat, bus, or even walk

There is no boat from MK to the CR though.. and, to restrict it to resort guests only, they have to have people at every stop…that is going to slow things way down.

I think with this new tower, , you are probably going to see no more share service with GF, and maybe add a larger boat for MK and Epcot bus from the tower to those parks.

As wonderful as technology can be, it does break at times. Imagine the CMs having to deal with people rushing for the monorail every time it arrives. Check their bag for security. Also scan MBs. When MBs fail, everyone behind them has to wait.

Great when everything works smoothly, but perhaps a logistical problem when it doesn’t?

No, it is not.
The Poly tower is 10 stories high.
Both the Contemporary Tower and Bay Lake Tower are much taller, each at 15 stories high.

.
Aren’t those both on Bay Lake? No water access directly to Seven Seas, except through Bay Lake and then the water bridge/channel to reach Seven Seas Lagoon.

Haha!
Technically you may be correct.
Their boat access is on the Bay Lake side, but both towers overlook Seven Seas Lagoon just as much as Bay Lake.
One side sees the pool/activity area and then Bay Lake.
The other side sees the parking lot and then Seven Seas Lagoon.
You could say that half of the Contemporary Tower rooms are on the Seven Seas Lagoon side of the Monorail, lol.
Most people consider the Bay Lake side of the Contemporary to be the "back" of the resort.
Any way you look at it, they are both fixtures of the skyline that can be seen from anywhere on Seven Seas Lagoon.

Oh please. I’ve never seen Disney’s technology fail. Ever.

They could start by just putting up a sign that says resort monorail is for resort guests only. Shockingly, there is a small percentage of the population that will follow the rules because it is the right thing to do.

I think Disney would lose too much restaurant and bar business to restrict the resort monorail to resort guests only. And as Sandi says, having CMs checking for ADRs at every stop would slow down boarding too much - plus, what about people who just want to go to the bar or quick service? There are already too many people complaining they can’t park their cars at a resort if they just want to visit the bar and don’t have a reservation!

I think they could restrict resort monorail access for the hour before and after park closing without causing too much disruption for dining reservations or quick service. Frankly, quick service at Poly/GF is already overcrowded, the new tower will probably make it worse, and I am in favor of making it slightly less convenient for people to come add to the lines.

Why are they entitled to the bars and QS? I’ve never been to Trader Sam’s because of overcrowding and I own and stay at the Poly 😂 it’s the same story at VGF at Christmas.

MB might be the wrong implementation, but visitors do meaningfully affect the experience of paying guests.
