You can eat nothing but food from 5 chain restaurants for the rest of your life

Chains are definitely not our first choice in dining. When traveling by car, we inevitably choose Wendy's or Chick Fil A off the highway. Pizza probably from Dominos. For sit-downs probably Applebees and Olive Garden. We love exploring the top local diners or specialty restaurants when we vacation, especially now that ours sons are grown & gone. We are more adventurous these days.

Starbucks for everyday especially new Connections Cafe or Disney Springs
Culvers
Earl of Sandwich
Pei Wei has a decent Asian chicken salad
Olive Garden , I think, love their soups and salad, etc.!

Starbucks
Panera
Cheesecake Factory
California Pizza Kitchen
Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Golden Corral because it is buffet & has lots of options for all three meals
Stevi B's pizza buffet because that would cover the pizza craving.
McDonalds of course.
Monterrey Mexican restaurant by my house
Sonny's BBQ Restaurant

I almost chose both of these, but I don't think they are national. Either way, they are both favorites of mine.

Torchy’s is national, although I remember when their first location opened. Via 313 is expanding. They have some new texas and Utah locations.

So, this is hard with my allergies, but I'm gonna give places that give me tons of options (and stick to casual price points)...Edit b/c I saw Cinnaholic now has coffee and teas (and plant based milk:))...

1. BD's Mongolian Grill - all my fresh meats, fish, veg, carbs, sauces, etc - 100 ways to eat the food every day
2. Five Guys - burger bowls with tons of fresh veg is where I live
3. Benihana or some Japanese hibachi/sushi place - miso, sushi, nice veg - win/win. I'd say Todai before, but they went out of business
4. Subway - Lunch and a great menu for allergies, too - and some fruit
5. Cinnaholic - enough vegan/allergy treats to keep me happy - and my teas and coffee - breakfast and dessert is done

We discovered Cinnaholic on a trip and my family loved it.

Me too! I also remember getting their tacos at ACL festival back when all they had was the food truck.
I also had no idea Chuy’s went national. I saw some others mention it up thread. I love their jalapeño ranch dip. We nicknamed it liquid crack.

Ruths Chris - mostly for nostalgia because I used to go to their original restaurant with my parents.
Outback
Cracker Barrel
Dairy Queen
That's it

Hmmm, this is ALL I can have? Well, then, healthy options must be considered, or "forever" won't be very long. I'm thinking about my favorite things PLUS who has a varied menu:

- Tacos 4 Life -- my current obsession -- though the tortillas are high-fat, meat and veg in the middle is healthy, and I have to have guacamole. Their side-salad is wonderful. It'd also give me the option for taco-in-a-bowl, which is low-carb.
- Texas Roadhouse -- this gets me the option for a good burger, a steak or BBQ, and they sell a vegetable plate.
- Panera -- I'd want a sandwich sometime, and they have good options -- also good salads.
- Breakfast Time -- their breakfasts are better than Cracker Barrel's (lower priced too), and it's easy to eat low-carb with a bacon-and-egg plate, but that'd also give me the option for the occasional bowl of oatmeal or chicken-and-waffles.
- A seafood place -- not Red Lobster, and I can't name another seafood chain -- but I do love fish and shrimp.

That leaves me without pasta, which is probably a good thing.
And without an option for Chinese food, which is a bad thing.

Moe's ... not my favorite, I like a small local chain for similar food, but I need burritos in the list.
First Watch ... nice variety including breakfast
Cheesecake factory ... for the enormous menu
Jet's pizza ... love the deep dish
Panera ... widely available and has several vegetarian choices - it was either Panera or Burger king (for the impossible whopper), but Panera wins with more options.

Not local chains, but ones with a large footprint.

Who you got?
In and Out Burger
Panera- that’s one of those that you never feel disgusted after eating there
A sit down Mexican 🤷🏻‍♂️
Cheesecake Factory- if I’m going to be doing this forever I need variety
Maggianos
It has more to do with strategy of having to eat there my whole life than it does favorites. Except In and Out!!!!
