Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

i read this on one of our other threads and it is recent (from here now just got back)
My only real complaint was that it was harder to get food at the hotel - we stayed at YC for the 1st time and the market there had VERY little options....either for fresh food or packaged food. Our last stay was at AK and they had a way better "cafe" with tons of options and better hours...YC market opened at 7am, not great if you are trying to get an early bus to the parks and want to eat before, and closed at 10pm, which was a little early. And Beaches & Cream would even serve ice cream for a walk up - you had to have a full reservation to get in - I felt that was a huge miss on their part as so many people love to grab ice cream during the day.
from march 27th trip

The Beaches & Cream walk-up window was open but was closed due to the crazy traffic pattern of all the guests waiting for access to the window blocking the walkway area in front of B&C and the general area around the nearby SAB gate and the tables.

In my words a Zoo that would have fit better in AK.

when bc reopens, what affect do you all think that will have on buses to parks such as mk? if any
They will have to add more buses if they plan to continue social distancing and limited capacity on the buses.

We almost always got food from the Beach Club Marketplace instead of from the YC. There are a lot more options plus they have groceries for the villas at the BC Marketplace.

can someone describe what the yc quiet pool is like and its location?
My room was really close to it. I went out and was surprised how crowded it was so took a chance and got in SAB.

The hot tub is very large. Nice for evenings👍

Honestly I always google map my hotel and look. Facing the hotel from entrance it would be far right.

Can anyone get groceries at the BC Marketplace that is staying at BC but not Villas?

April Activities Board

Is there anyone who is at the resort now, or just returned, who has pictures of the Activities, Movie Schedule, Dining/Activities Hours that are posted on boards in lobby?

If so, please post here or you can email pictures to me at beachclubdee at yahoo.

:thanks:

We booked our flights, added a night to our BC stay AND just found out very good friends will be in the world the same week, they’re staying at carribean beach. While we don’t want to tour together we do want to get together once or twice, it will be 4 adults & 5 kids under 5. In the past I would’ve suggested meeting at the boardwalk, playing games & letting kids run around but with that area closed I’m unsure where a good spot would be. Prefer not DS...any ideas in the resort area?

Thank you so much for sharing these pictures!!!

Little FYI for walking to Epcot... we always preferred taking the little “secret” path on the right that goes along the water & under the bridge to BWI. It is now a designated smoking area. Don’t know when that happened & don’t remember reading about it before. But it’s up the hill for us from now on. :(

Bummer!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll update the post about this shortcut on Page 1.

Very excited to have booked our first stay at BC! We usually stay at one of the mods (CSR and POFQ are our favorites) but splurged on BC for this trip since we had to cancel last year's trip that was supposed to celebrate our oldest graduating and turning 18. So now we'll be there the very beginning of June, right before he turns 19.

I booked a garden/woods view room and will definitely be making the day bed our #1 request - with our oldest at about 6'6 and our youngest at 5'10, they do not share beds well anymore (we used to take an air mattress when we stayed at the mods). Besides that, I'm excited about being able to walk to both HS and EP and having the Boardwalk for evening entertainment.

Any rumors about when Cape May Cafe might reopen? As I looked at a summary of the restaurants open in the Epcot Resort area, it looks a little skimpy.

:welcome:

I'll add your belated celebration trip to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Yacht Club stay for June 19-24. Several questions-Are Stormalong Bay hours still 10am-10pm? Does it have a capacity, and are people often turned away? Is the quiet pool still available after hours? Is Hurricane Hannah's now serving food again? Do you often see children in Martha's Vineyard or Ale and Compass Lounge? Thanks so much!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list!

:goodvibes:

All the pools have a hard close time. Not sure if it is extended for right now or not.

The pool is busy but I don't think people are being turned away often, just on high use days.

Hurricane Hanna's has always served food, the grill is not open so no hot food, just cold. The cocktail cast will get you a burger and fries or a chicken sandwich and fries through the Cape May kitchen if you want. You could always try for a walk-up at Beaches & Cream too.

There are always children in Martha's, not sure about A&C. But there are only like 4 tables in MV. It seems a lot of people order to go from there (which you can right now), they open at 4pm and serve burgers and chicken sandwiches along with some other good choices. The menu stand is normally in the Beach Club lobby by the Cape May entrance.

:thanks:

SAB hours have been 10am-10pm since Labor Day. Seems like Disney is content to keep this as their feature pool hours for the time being.

The leisure pools hours are 7am-11pm.

:thanks:

SAB was open 10a-11pm yesterday and today as well. I’m assuming those were the hours for the week. Idk if that’s because of it being high season. People were definitely not being turned away from the SAB today or yesterday (high 50’s to mid 60’s) lol. There were still a handful of us who braved it. The sever who walks around informed me they did have hot food available (I think someone already commented on this) winch was not an option in September. The chicken sandwich was delicious and my husband said the burger was good too. They have those same steak fries from Beaches & Cream that are tasty and stay hot. People were in the quite pool by the villas pretty late last night. There were kids at Martha’s Vineyard. They also made us really strong margaritas! Makes you feel like you’re actually getting your money’s worth. Not like the premixed margaritas in La Cava that I paid $51 with tip for two. They were good but no premixed drink should cost that much.

:thanks:

Good Morning, everyone!

It's been a minute (year) since I've posted, but happy to say that after several cancelled trips, we are booked for a YC/CR split to celebrate my DH's 50th birthday in June! We will be staying at YC from June 22-27 before we switch over to CR. We stayed at BC CL back in 2018, but this will be our first YC stay! Thank you for all of the trip and room reports.! :)

:welcome: back!

I'll add your trip to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

So, after rescheduling our YC trip several times, we are locked in for April 18 through 23 (as much as anyone can be locked in).

Can someone remind me whether the in-room refrigerator has a freezer compartment and, if so, how big it is? Many thanks!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list!

Easter Merchandise:

:welcome: and thanks for the questions!

We appreciate the prompt responses with the requested info!

Does anyone know if they are doing the Easter baskets in the store to purchase for kids?

Here are some locations making custom Easter baskets. Hope that’s what you were looking for.

Customized Easter Baskets at Disney World

🐣

I have no hope of them actually being available when I'm there but I'm curious if anyone who is there now has seen the Hollow Chocolate Mickey/Minnie eggs and more importantly how much do they cost?

if your talking about the individually boxed ones, about 6” they were $22 I believe

although the Boardwalk has not reopened their games booths, the outside area of the resort is open including their nice lawn area. Perhaps you could grab a pizza and spend some time with your friends while letting the kids run around on the lawn.

There is a beach area at the Beach Club, facing the BoardWalk. I don't know if it is open these days or blocked off - somebody who has been could report back. Pre-COVID, you did not have to be a resort guest to access it. You can't go in the water, but I saw people playing catch there. It could be a place for the kids to run around, but I don't know about seating for the adults.

I was going to suggest Fantasia Gardens mini-golf, which is across the street from the Dolphin, but I don't know if your kids are too young for that.

The beach areas in front of both the BC and the YC are open with lounge chairs spaced apart. They have movies on the beach but they are not doing the campfire right now.
