Which Businesses/Companies Will Come Out Ahead due to Covid-19?

My physical therapy clinic has closed as a result of our company's commitment to patient and staff safety and to help slow down the spread of the virus. Though not yet mandated to shut-down by the province (Ontario), the difficult decision was made to lay off staff and close our doors on Monday. And subsequently deal with the significant financial repercussions that follow.

We all realize the tremendous impact this has on businesses, from independent contractors, to mom/pop shops, to small chains, all the way up to airlines and theme parks.

However, there must be some companies and businesses that are booming as a result, and when the dust has settled, will have recorded record profits and growth.

Besides, Charmin and Purell, who else is coming out ahead?

Streaming services
Redbox
Internet services
Gaming services
Home improvement stores, if open

My company makes medical devices, including hospital beds. We can’t produce them fast enough. We will have an awesome year, but beds have a decent life cycle, so the years to come... who knows?

Disboards and "that other site".

I don't ever recall refreshing these forum pages as often as I have the past 2 weeks.
Ad revenue must be booming.
I'd love to have a peek at their Google Analytics account ....

Amazon
UPS & Fed Ex
Truck Driving Companies
Grocery Stores
Netflix & other streaming services
Web Services & Computer Technologies
Toilet Paper & Personal Goods Companies
Medical Supply Companies & Distribution
Purell, Lysol, & Clorox
Delivery Companies like InstaCart & Door Dash

Producers of cardboard for shipping boxes.
More people will have to stay home and more goods will be bought online and delivered in cardboard boxes.

I was looking at webcams on Amazon a few months ago. Saw about 5-6 kinds that were suitable, but didn't buy.
Looked again yesterday, and could only find one of the ones I was previously looking at.
So I bought it.
So many folks working from home....

Maybe not at the moment, but the future of health and travel insurance companies look good.

I was thinking about this as well.
There seems to be some consensus that "pandemics" are not being covered by many "cancel for any reason" insurance policies. I'm not completely sure that travel insurances companies are doing as badly as we think.

Heath insurance on the other hand ..... must be seeing a exponential growth in short term disability claims that mirrors the growth of new Covid-19 diagnoses.

I think most people will buy extra health/travel insurance going forward, even if it doesn’t cover pandemics. For some people who never buy any type of insurance, this has been a sobering reminder to at least look into it.
