Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

“MOM WE ARE IN THE MAIN BUILDING!!”

Yes dear, Happy Birthday from Mom and Dad , surprise!

We stuck at airport with a delay arriving MCO around 11;30p . At least I’ll be sleeping there tonight!

That is so so sweet and so much fun to surprise your daughter. I read your post to my daughters and they were so excited for you all. :dogdance: Now that our kids are older it is so hard to surprise them anymore. Plus everything is on MDE so they see it all. I hope you made it there and enjoy your stay at the main building.

The rooms are not rundown
That doesn’t mean you like the decor but to answer you, I would indeed pick BW over WL
10 times out of 10. I just came home from WL yesterday and while I was perfectly happy there I still prefer BW in every way. I especially didn’t like the way WL closes their doors to get ready for next service. Can’t even get a beverage
I got all excited about the new look and conveniently forgot what I didn’t like about WL CL- namely that! SO annoying. Well that and trying to find a CM when I wanted a mimosa or gluten free stuff in the morning or afternoon. They were never around! Always in the back and those working the desks were busy working the desks... It felt weird knocking on that service door to find someone and then standing around waiting for them to come back? I felt like a pet, staring at a door willing the owner to come out 🤣

I know you said you’ve stayed at WL before, but have you stayed in a WL Deluxe room before and are you familiar with the locations of those rooms?
Nope! We've never stayed Club Level or in a deluxe room there. It was on our option list because it can fit our family of 5 and we've discovered there aren't as many Club Level rooms for familes our size :(.

That is great to know!! I'm fine with the theme of BW, so if the rooms are holding up well that really tips the scales towards staying there since the location and CL service seem to be wonderful. Thank you!

I searched this thread, but couldn’t find this- sorry if I missed it. I changed my reservation at Yacht from garden view to club level garden view.

I was looking at possible views and Touring plans room finder shows only three club-level garden view rooms with two queens. Does anyone know - is that right?

I was just surprised to see the low number. It looked like there were two other garden views, as well, but with a king bed.

My understanding is there are only a handful of YC GV CL rooms - the large majority are either Standard View or Water View. I’ve barely ever seen GV rooms as available.

If I’m not mistaken the bank of rooms south of the CL desks that face the gazebo are GV and maybe a few others around.

I wouldn’t trust TP’s bed configuration information.

There are very few garden view rooms on club level because the fifth floor (where the club lounge is located) doesn't extend the entire length of the building. Much of YC is just 4 floors.

Gotcha. Yeah, 5 starts to limit some options.

The WL Deluxe Rooms or located at the very “end of the hall” on floors 1-5. While not the end of the world, they are a rather decent distance to the lounge. Travel time is in the 2-2.5 min range depending on your walking speed, elevator timing, etc - that is a material factor for some.

Forgive the crude map, but 1 & 2 are the two Deluxe Rooms on floors 1-5, 3 is the elevator bank, 4 is the lounge location (again, on the 7th floor).

I really like WL and WL CL, but these rooms are a bit of a “different” CL experience just given the distance. Our family of four also felt very cramped given the layout of the room, although I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the renovations (the SF is rather small to begin with and I’m hoping they go with furniture that is less bulky than the prior style).

The decor of BWI doesn’t really appeal to us, but if I’m reading into your comments I think a BWI Deluxe Room may be worthy of stronger consideration when comparing the two rooms/resorts/CLs.

Happy to answer any questions.

thank you. Those gazebo facing rooms are what TP shows as GV. Three were queen, one king. Plus one other king somewhere further down the long hall.

I came to this realization as I looked further, so I now feel lucky to have swapped it out this morning.

Thank you so much! I had no idea they weren't near the lounge. That would make it much harder to get a lot of use out of the lounge offerings. It's also really good to know that they felt cramped for four people, because I'd like a room that gives us some breathing space for afternoon breaks and a non-park day. Sounding more and more like BWI deluxe room might be the best fit! Are there any other Club Level rooms you've stayed in that fit 5 that you like better than BWI?

Hi, y’all! I don’t get on the boards much anymore so when I do, I can’t possibly read all the pages I’ve missed!

I’ve been at WDW this week, flying home later today, and wanted to post some YC info for anyone interested. We had a GREAT experience and this CL is still near the top of our list!

CMs were wonderful - not a cranky one in the group! Food offerings are slightly less than our last stay here, but still plentiful and delicious!

Over the many years we’ve stayed on WDW property, we have received several room upgrades (much appreciated!). When we checked in early this week, we were told we had been upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite!! We were on the 4th floor (4209), a long walk from the Club Lounge and it was the happiest walk ever!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: If we never get another upgrade, that will be fine - this one was incredible!!

One more thing I did want to add re MagicBands. Multiple CMs have told me that if we receive a survey, please include our frustration over not being able to “decline” them on MDE.

A CM did say she found the link once recently, but can’t find it anymore (so maybe it is there?) I finally have all but 2 of my MBs removed! Deactivating them doesn’t “remove” them so they can still create issues for guests.
Thank you for posting this. I read a bad review about the YC CL, and this makes me feel MUCH better.
I am in AWE of your upgrade. Those rooms are pricey!
One more thing:
Were there kids in your party? How did they like the YC?

Deluxe (size) rooms being on a different floor than the club lounge is common across all of the Disney World deluxe resorts. They are listed as Club ACCESS when this is the case. I believe that the long and winding journey to the club lounge (in some cases requiring TWO elevators) is the reason that the deluxe rooms at Beach Club no longer include club access.

I generally take reviews with a grain of salt! Some people are never satisfied; others remember how things "were" and are unhappy that there has been change. I go with the attitude that it's going to be wonderful -- and it usually is! ;)

Should there be an issue or issues that you feel should be corrected, go to the CMs and give them a chance to make things right (they usually do!). Failing that, contact the GM while still on vacation. His/her contact information will be in a letter that you'll find in your room.

No kids in my party, but there were plenty of families and I don't remember hearing anyone complain! Kids and teens all seemed to find lots of snacks and beverages to satisfy them! And don't forget there's ice cream! That little freezer is very popular!

I agree about reviews and reviewers. People are way more likely to post a review when they're upset about something and some people seem to go out of their way to notice the negative things no matter how inconsequential. When my goal is to have a good time (like on vacation) I go out of way to ignore the negative and focus on the positive.

I have enjoyed all of my stays at The Yacht Club. I've always enjoyed the lounge when staying CL and have had many positive interactions with the CL CMs. I did once complain here on this forum about a terrible room view, but in that case all other booking categories were taken and my only option was standard, so YC certainly didn't owe me a view.

I haven’t stayed at Yacht Club, but there are also very few CL garden view rooms at Beach Club. We prefer those rooms to the standard view CL because no matter which room we have, we‘re guaranteed a room near the lounge and elevators. I always book garden view CL at Beach Club if it’s available!

We had a GV CL room at the YC once and loved it. We faced the gazebo, were close to the lounge, elevators, and concierge desk but not too close IYKWIM, and thought the view was almost as good as a water views. The only ones I’m aware of are the ones in that row facing the gazebo, but there could be a couple of others, I’m not sure. I know there aren’t many.

I should probably caveat - many people love the WL Deluxe Rooms and everything I noted is a total non-factor for some - so my comments certainly aren't one-size fits all.

Not that I've measured, but I suspect the WL Deluxe Rooms are larger than BWI Deluxe Rooms. The WL ones are pretty much a 1-BR setup with a separate BR and living room. The BWI ones are pretty much an elongated standard room with a couch/second TV in the elongated part (but it's still all one room). A family who wanted a bit of extra personal space may like the WL Deluxe Room a bit better, but I'm sort of splitting hairs there.

(Edited to remove incorrect information about BWI room locations)

As far as rooms that sleep 5 - we only need 4 but we enjoy places like Poly, GF, and CR where the rooms are bigger and sleep 5 (although I imagine they all start feeling a bit tight with 5, so I can understand why the Deluxe Rooms are appealing to you). We've done a few suites in various places, but unfortunately the price jump for the extra space is kind of obnoxious. Something like the CR Garden Wing 1-BR sleeps 5 and is a nice size - and is among the cheaper of the suite options (still a really high price relatively speaking though).
