How long do you think the Skyliner wait time will be when it opens?

Whenever the Skyliner opens it is going to be so crowded and popular because it will basically be a free ride/attraction, right? It is going to be so inefficient for anyone to take this mode of transportation to or from their resort if they want to make it back in time.

It will probably eventually level out and hopefully be a great way to get to and from the resorts/parks, but it seems like it will be ridiculously crowded when it opens. I am guessing many hours of waiting in a line to board a gondola.

No way it will be that way. I envision minutes

I think it will be quite efficient, longest lines at park close of course but still manageable since it is continuously loading.

I agree that it will probably take a lot longer to get on when it first opens just because of the novelty of it and people will want to try it out just for the sake of trying it. I don't think it will be that bad though. Longer than waiting for the monorail probably (at first anyway) but definitely not hours.

Thinking massive delays. The monorail swallows huge amounts of people whoosh and that line after the MK closes can be jam packed for a long period of time. Just getting people to board is a thing.

Imagine the folly of people that hold up the boarding on Buzz Lightyear because they need to take a personal video of the 15(?) year old animation trying to capture the moment now wanting to get pictures and video for their blogs...

How many people won't be able to board unassisted?

How many times does "People Mover" have to stop? I've witnessed way too many for its very simple boarding. Spaceship Earth, anyone?

Will it take strollers? Double wides? The triples for the toddler to stand? Collapsed? UGH, watch any bus stop to see that drama "unfold" :rotfl2:

You won’t catch me on it! Those kinds of high rises are transportation of my nightmares. I’ll wait for hours for a bus before I’d sit in one of them.

But ya’ll have fun. LOL

1. People Mover stops ONLY for mechanical/technical reasons. It is never, ever, stopped or slowed for access.
2. Spaceship Earth is slowed much more than it's stopped.
3. These are attractions, not transportation.

There should not be long lines, except at park closing, which should be better than the current situation with buses.

Capacity is expected to be a full busload every 2-4 minutes, depending on what speed they run them at.

In the primary boarding area, cabins move continuously while boarding. CM's certainly will not offer to stop the line for photo ops. I'm sure the end of the boarding area will be clearly marked, and parents would have to be very stupid not to board before the cabin reaches that point.

It is expected that all stations except Riviera will have a secondary offline boarding area for Guests needing additional time, similar to TSMM. It should not be neccessary to stop or slow the line for wheelchairs, etc.

Strollers up to double wide will simply roll on. Boarding is level. There is no step up, and no need to fold. The cm may need to fold the seat, which would take all of 5 seconds.

There will be lines, there are always lines. The question really is (for me anyway) will it beat the bus going to/from the same resort? I'm thinking yes. Yes it will.

From what was reported on Len Testa's podcast, if your trip from a resort to a park involves stops at other resorts, you have to get off at each stop and board the next car.
