Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

At the Yacht Club, can you get a garden view room with a king bed and a tub/shower? Thanks!

I don't know. We don't have that level of room information unless someone has stayed in a room meeting those criteria and they report it here.

In general, the rooms at the Yacht Club that have king beds tend to have shower only set ups.

If anyone has stayed in YC club room with a king bed and a shower/bathtub combination, please let us know. Bonus points* if you can provide the view category and/or room number.

*points redeemable for generous thanks, and not much else.

Curious as to what section (standard room) in BC is recommended. Will be there for the Foos and Wine Fest, first time BC guests. Floor and even a room recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Trying to get a feel for the layout and I am having a hard time narrowing it down. Thank you!!!

Also wondering what a good room recommendation would be but for YC garden or woods view room. We're only staying 2 nights in a split stay but it'll be our first time at any of the Epcot area resorts. It's just my mother and I so the most important feature would be separate beds, 2 queens preferable over the 2nd bed being a sleeper sofa or whatever the other options are. The majority of our time is going to be spent checking out the other area resorts and spending time in the 2 parks in walking distance. What's the best gameplan if we don't care about being close to SAB, guest services, elevators, a specific floor, etc.? Our main goal is to get in and out as quickly as possible when we want to go to a new area or get back to the room to get ready for lunch/dinner.

Thanks for any help with this!

It depends on what you want to be closest to and what your other preferences are (king bed, 2 queen beds, larger balcony, ground floor, near a pool, near the lobby and so on). The more specific you are in your request, the less likely it becomes that the room assigner can meet your request.

To be closest to Epcot, you're looking at rooms like 1503-1505 (ground floor and then it's 2503-2505 for 2nd floor and so on). But those rooms are not near an elevator, the main lobby, or Storm Along Bay if any of those things are important to you, and they all have 2 queen beds. 1559-1563 are also close to the walkway to EPCOT, a little closer to Storm Along Bay/ lobby, and closer to an elevator. To increase your odds of getting these rooms you'd request a Pool/ Lake view with 2 queen beds.

For a king bed, you're more limited if you also want to be close to the EPCOT walkway. There's always a trade-off, so it's always best to decide which 2-3 things are most important to you.

As far as proximity to Epcot, it's about a 5 minute walk from the main lobby to the International Gateway, so I don't usually let that be a factor. The farthest room from the gateway can't be more than a 10 minute walk at a very slow pace (I travel with 3 kids, 1 in a stroller and I'm sure our longest time after stopping to look at every bug and pebble along the way is 10 minutes).

To get in & out quick & avoid walking down hallways, i think you’ll want to be near the elevators. So I would suggest : “2 queen bed near elevators” for your requests.

The main elevators are right off the lobby & also the side exit to the boat dock/ walk to Epcot & Studios. So being near them makes for a quick back & forth to the room.

Agree, I personally really like rooms by the side exit that is near the boat dock. I find that it makes getting to DHS extremely easy and we usually just walk outside when going to the lobby or pool as it is a more direct walk than the interior hallways.

I just read that the walkway to HS will be altered and will add an additional 10 minutes to walk to Hollywood studios. I have to say I am really disappointed about this. It is already a lengthy walk and we were planning on walking this trip to HS for TSL I know in the grand scheme of things ten minutes is no big deal with how much you walk at disneyworld. But Im def disappointed, how long is the pathway going to be blocked for does anyone know???

The path has been like this for a little bit according to others in that post. We walked this path when we were there a couple weeks ago and in my opinion the pictures of the new path make it look much worse than it is, we walked from the YC and it certainly didn't take us an extra 10 min and we walked it at least 4 times.

Thanks for posting your experience. We have been walking to DS for years. I saw the map & that post on the other thread & thought no way could it add 10 minutes, when the whole walk only takes 20 minutes! Still not happy about the extra steps, but hopefully it will not be a permanent change.

So it's been this way from the post i read it made it sounds like it did not happen yet?

We definitely were not using the old route that takes you along the water near DHS as that is all under construction. According to Angi's post in this thread page 5 #92 this is the route that has been in use for a while and I for one believe her. https://www.disboards.com/threads/new-hollywood-studios-bus-loop-to-open-soon.3695945/page-5. Unfortunately that thread, like many others devolved in a gondola pro-con list and isn't really useful for the intended purpose anymore.

Whoa...hold up...are they eliminating the Club Level access from the Deluxe Rooms in 2019? I just did a search for a room in June 2019 and Deluxe Rooms are listed under "Standard Rooms" and under "Rooms with Club Level Access", it is also listed there, but says "Sorry, this room type is not available for your dates." I was able to do a mock booking with a Deluxe Room but it did NOT indicate "Club Level Access." It was also cheaper than the rack rate of this room for this year.

Is this a glitch or is this new for 2019?

So what kind of success rate have people had getting a king bed request? It's the only request I plan to make. We were fortunate and got one at Poly last January, but I wasn't sure how many rooms at BC actually have king beds.

No, Deluxe room reservations without CL access were / are available in 2018 and 2019. It is not something new for just 2019. I posted about this earlier in the thread. There was feedback about the distance from some of the Deluxe rooms to the CL lounge.

We requested king bed for our 25th anniversary trip and did not get one! We also did not get a quiet location which was our second request. We did however get full balcony.
