Hi All,
I just wrote a similar post under the Poly link, but wanted to make sure anyone interested got to know ASAP that Disney has officially made Pool/Marina views a separate bookable room category at Poly. Rooms with these desirable views (i.e. Samoa) are no longer Standard Rooms.
Yesterday I saw the pool/marina room category listed on MDE, but no matter what dates I chose there were no rooms available.
I just checked this morning and bookable rooms for the pool/marina rooms are now available. I just upgraded my standard room for 4/2-4/10/18 to pool/marina. The cost of the upgrade was about a 10% increase in price.
FYI, there were are no standard rooms available for those dates, but there are pool/marina, so it appears Disney may have been holding inventory back in contemplation of this change.
I'm very excited to have a better chance at my 3rd floor Samoa. I feel an approximately 10% surcharge to move up to a more desired room view is worth it, especially compared to the huge jump in price there is to upgrade to a Lagoon or Theme Park view.
Everyone here has been so helpful and understanding, so glad I can contribute a bit
