We are there September 20-27, staying at CBR!
And I planned our trip last minute last year, booked the day before FD ended with exact dates and room! And left 6 weeks later! Ha! This year has actually been a little more stressful for me! We are going no matter what unless my husbands work schedule changes!

Yes we plan to do the deluxe.I know that we will use the TS credits for three meals a day (2 are 2 credit meals) I am curious about having left over snacks. I read on here that you can use them to buy things to take with you for the car ride back so I was thinking we could do that with any left over?? My kids are good eaters so they will definitely do breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. It's that 2nd snack I'm not sure about. When I priced the menus the deluxe looks to cost us less than the regular for all that we plan to do. Even if it is a lot.

We had a problem in past years spending snack credits, so we went to the gift shop and got little bags of Mickey chocolates and disney pez despensers with the extra credits

I see talk of required park hoppers for free dining. Was this the case last year? I went 2 years ago on FD & we could upgrade to water park tickets to qualify, did they change it last year? We wouldn't use PH with 2 little ones but could definitely use water park tickets.

Depending on the length of your trip, you could buy the minimum base+parkhopper to get FD and then buy the base+ waterpark tickets (through a cheaper reseller agent) for the rest of your stay. Crunch some numbers and see how it would work.

I think if that were the case they wouldn't announce "no Free Dining this year". They would just release a different, probably not as good, promotion in its place.

Kind of like that girlfriend in middle school. She didn't actually say she was breaking up with me. But I got the hint when I saw that other boy carrying her books. :D

An inferential offer!

Is SSR 2 bedroom only 400 I don't think so...its around 800 ... now it might be cheaper for you.. but for FD if they want to pay the full price of double bed room.. then it would be difficult...

SSR would revert back to the price the OP got when switched from CBR. The summer discount would go, but not the reduced rate because they were transferred from CBR as compensation for construction going in there. They gave people the choice of a $75 gift card per night, or transfer to SSR for no additional cost.

Sitting here listening to the freezing rain on March 31st, looking forward to (NOT) April Fool's Day snow here in New England. At least it's not the 2 feet we got on the same date in 1997 - anyone remember that?! So grateful I have a trip to plan, dream about and look forward to!

My TA is keeping an eye out and did tell me she would be keeping a close eye open. So am I I watched the dis youtube and wrote her an email about what I was willing to go for if it came available. She seemed so pleased. She's on the look now, now we just need to get the dates (FD, Party, and Flights) and I can make all my final dates lol)

Yeah I know. I have gone back and forth. I just didn't want to spend so much park time eating. My kids are early birds so we will try to get breakfast res. first thing. Plus this is my moms first time back in 20 years and she doesn't want three sit- down meals, but wants to do a lot of the character meals. I looked at menus and priced it with reg. dining and with deluxe based on what we would order and places we really want to try. It looks to save us about $300 to upgrade than to get the regular and pay for the other things we would want to do OOP. I figured that makes it worth it, even if doing QS lunch isn't the best value on the plan. I was just getting the plan that would be cheapest overall based on res. we hope to get. I am also hoping to get free dining and then pay to upgrade to deluxe.
We did DxDP twice and mixed it up with a few 2 credit meals (HBD and Le Cellier) a couple of quick serve (CHH, Tangerine Cafe. Yorkshire Cty Fish Shoppe) PLus used some snack credits for water. And we broke even, to me the value is in the convenience of being prepaid

Remember it well!

I hope they don't make anyone upgrade to a preferred at SSR. Anyone have any experience with FD at SSR in years past?

I absolutely agree with you there! It did used to be much more relaxing without planning every single detail! Planning so much stresses me out more! You can't just "go with the flow" anymore. BUT, I still love my Disney vacations!

I totally agree! Say it all the time when planning our Disney vacations now. Months and months of planning. I'd rather go with the flow on my vacation but the way its structured now you really can't.

Anyone follow Chip & Co on facebook?? They did an April Fools regarding Free Dining this morning. I know some of you said that no one should do an April fool's regarding free dining so just a heads up.

Ps: it wasn't funny :(
