Orbitz/Expedia/Travelocity Rooms ??

Even with all the discount stacking at Orbitz/Cheaptickets etc, I still found that the agency exclusive deal that is popular on this board was still cheaper. You might want to google/look into it.

THIS! I booked thru the TA and got a much better deal than anything Orbitz or any other combo...its not really close either...Plus the Disney promo requires u to purchase the upgraded rooms (no standard rooms)...but the TA has the standard rooms with a big discount....I'm book from April 26th thru May 6th..POR

Oh and...the TA rate was supposed to end on May 5th..but she called Disney and asked them if they could extend it by one extra day...Disney said SURE!

I was going to book with Orbitz, but have been waiting for the AP discounts. The AP discounts dropped today and are essentially identical to the Orbitz, after the 15% coupon. At least for what I was checking. I ended up going with the AP discount and booking via Disney, but this thread has been very helpful in knowing other options. Thanks!

Yep I actually cancelled my Orbitz reservation just now and went with the AP discount just so I can have control when I want to switch dates, etc.

So pleased the AP discount is 10% better than the general discounts this time around. I was expecting the normal 5%, which is why I booked thru Orbitz.

Said travel agency didn't have the resort I wanted for my dates. But well worth getting a quote. Their prices were along the same lines as the AP discount for my dates.

For what it's worth, I know there was some discussion of Orbitz cancellation fees - I was only charged the $25 cancel fee. When I hit the "cancel" button, the next screen clearly stated the amount to be refunded and shows the $25 cancel fee deducted. I can live with that!

And even better, you book on orbitz or travelocity or other company via ebates, and get cash back on top of disney discount and on top of 15% AND then pay with a 2% cash back credit card! 15% off a 25% discounted room with a 2% cash back on total and 2% cash back with credit card.

Still don't understand. If you book a room with Disney or TA,then book a room through Orbitz, how do you NOT have two rooms? I'm reading that an Orbitz agent calls Disney to get a confirmation number. Does that mean that Orbitz calls Disney to prove that you actually did get a room,so Orbitz then agrees to give you the Disney discount also,if you cancel that other ressie and go with them? Is that how you " stack " discounts?

@fauntleroy1953 you don't book the room with Disney. Orbitz automatically has the Disney discount on their site. You then type in a promo code and get an additional 15% off the already discounted room. Orbitz only calls Disney to get the confirmation number so that you can plug that number into your MDE account to link the reservation.

Has anyone used priceline? The rooms that have a price.

Is it easy to link to MDE?
Did you have any problems?

So yall are saying a TA is getting a better rate than the 25% disney discount AND stacked with a 15% off orbitz coupon? (And ebates cash back too).

It depends. You have to contact them for a quote on your preferred resort within the dates they offer. Room categories are usually SV and/or SV-GV CL, and dates are limited. Deluxe gives you the better % off and Labor Day deals are the best. Our mod resort and dates had a weak discount. Our deluxe dates weren't included.

For me, Orbitz wasn't offering the categories we wanted. POR wasn't offered at the Fun&Sun code, so there was no stacking. YC was limited to one category and it wasn't the one we hoped to book.

I decided to use the Passholder discount and will upgrade my ticket when we arrive. I'm not saving a ton, but will still be in the black compared to what I thought I'd pay in total, with Photopass, dining, and souvenirs. The extra AP discounts through Sept helped, too. I will say, that after I finally pulled the trigger I had zero anxiety about it. After obsessively checking multiple sites every day for opportunities, committing to an AP was a relief. Our vacation length makes it a decent value, even if we don't have more than one trip. It's all in the math.

Well for MY dates April 26th thru May 6th...the un-named TA had only the following resorts....All Star Sports/POLY/PO Riverside/Beach Club...all those are standard view only with the exception POLY which had SV and CL GV...so IF ur looking for the upgrade room views u don't have much to choose from...and those ends on May 5th...after that I have no idea what they are offering.

So I booked through Orbitz on Jan.14 and still haven't received the email with the Disney confirmation number. I guess I need to call, was hoping to avoid that but I don't see where to send an email? Did anyone receive an email after 5 days?

TIA! :flower1:

I recently booked through priceline, I think it works the same way. I called priceline, they had to call disney with me on hold for the MDE number. They told me the number and I was able to link it with no problems. I did have to change magic band shipping address. It was simple and easy to do. Hope it is as smooth for you as it was for me.

What makes me mad with Orbitz is that they are saying the $25 cancel fee is being charged by Disney, and that's a outright lie!

I called Orbitz and got the confirmation number but it isn't working. The person was very nice but very hard to understand. I thought I had it! Is it supposed to be 9 or 10 characters? I had to wait a long time on hold so not looking forward to calling back. I should've asked her to email it. :sad2:

It is a 12 digit number that usually begins with a 4. I have booked with Orbitz several times now and it is hit or miss whether the person on the phone knows what you are talking about regarding the confirmation number. I booked a Disney resort with them last week and the guy I spoke with on the phone had no clue what I was talking about. I gave up trying to get it on the phone and emailed them. I received a response the next day with the correct confirmation number....so much easier than sitting on the phone forever trying to explain what you are talking about.

Hi Ms Marigny, I couldn't find an email address. Do you happen to know it? They gave me a 10 digit mix of letters and numbers. I did call back and there is a recording when you hit the confirm my reservation prompt that said the 10 digit number was from the hotel. It is different from the itinerary number. So I'm pretty confused. :confused3

In your confirmation email you should have received, click on see your itinerary and then click on customer support at the bottom of page or go on their website and go the customer support page -there is an area that says contact us. Click on that and it will ask you a few questions and click where you see email. Specify in the comments area that you need the Disney confirmation email that is 12 digits long, not the Orbitz confirmation number.

Orbitz wants a $25 cancel fee too on a May 2017 trip. I had to book it to use up the rest of my points and then I'm DONE WITH ORBITZ!!!!

I'm having a battle with the Orbitz Credit card (Comenity LLC) over a fraud purchase in November they keep billing me for. The call center says a lot of people are complaining about getting bills in error. No more Obitz for me.
