Saw some pics on fb today and it looks like nobody is at MK!! The MLK weekend crowds must have left.

Glad for the folks that are there....
it was stupid busy the first week of Jan... but when you have school age kids, your options are limited! :)

I saw the photos and my jaw dropped. It was so empty. I have never seen it like that.

Disney occupancy predictions must be very low for next week as they threw out some awesome CM discounts at hotels.

CM discount for weekend at moderate is LESS than I am paying for weeknight with promo at value ..............

:) I'm just watching the clock tick waiting to run over there and enjoy. as soon as this weekend hits, we're in pro bowl hell and this is over.

Mid-to-end of January has always been a good time to go.
Probably one of the few "slow" times.

One of the few remaining "value" times for resort hotels, everyone back in school, it's cold (relatively), holidays are over, a lot of stuff is closed for refurb, families just spent a lot of vacation time or money on Christmas, etc.

But between the Pro Bowl, Marathons and other things, this window is narrowing more and more.

We are going in a little under 3 weeks. I am seeing lots of reports of cheer competitions. Oh well. Wish I could be there now but due to my husband's work schedule early February works best for us.

I was looking at the wait times earlier and couldn't believe some of the times, everything at AK was 10 minutes or less.

We have been there during the cheering competitions. They did not impact us at all. There were some cheer groups in the parks i.e. tween girls, but nothing major. They are competing much of the time.

I'll be there the same time. Good luck to us!

Us too! Arrive 1/28-2/1 Went the same time last year and it was nice. Weather was a little chilly the first day or two, but the parks weren't crowded. The Pro-bowl is the only variable that I'm not sure of. Based on all the discounts and promotions I see everywhere, it looks like WDW needs to fill hotels.

I would assume there will be a bump in attendance from the Pro Bowl, but I’d be willing to bet the overwhelming majority of tickets to the game were likely sold to locals (not like the Citrus Bowl game(s) where fan bases travel to Orlando). Hopefully, that will help minimize the impact on crowds throughout the week...
