Question about photopass included with AP. I have 4 people in our party with APs and 3 with regular 5 day passes. All are linked in MDE. If those without APs are off by themselves and have a photo taken, will the photo link to my account (AP holder) with free download privileges or does an AP holder have to have their magic band scanned in order to have the photo added to the account?

I really need to get around to making it clearer about aps in the post :(

if all linked or on the same mde then yes you will see their photos and yes you can download them.

I would also suggest putting the questions in the question and answer section in bold.

sounds good, made the change. now I just need to figure out how to shorten the magicband thread and make it more like this one.

I just read that military members can purchase Memory Maker for $84, through Dec. 19, 2017. But purchases must be in person at Disney.

Is there any place at Disney Springs where we can get it? That's where we plan on going arrival day.

Thanks!

My understanding is any guest relations will work so yes, there is a guest relations in disney springs. It's in the welcome center in town centre (not far from the bus stop, very close to dlux burgers). refer to a map as that area can feel like a maze.

Also keep in mind, this is a download package and it's a discount of the full priced version so there is no 3 day wait and you can just buy it anytime during the trip and doesn' tneed to be before the photos.

Thanks for clarifying that it does not need to be purchased before the photos! I did not realize that.

I'd still like to get it at Disney Springs, though. Rather use up Disney Springs time at guest relations than park time!

I want to do the 1 day mm. I looked on the website under my Disney experience but only See the options for $149. I have my 1 day ticket listed on there.
Any suggestions would be great. I'd love to set it up before we go

You can't set it up before you go - it doesn't show up until you get your first picture taken.

We love memory maker, it is nice I get professional photos done and that we get everyone in the photo. We have gone twice and fixing to go on our 3rd trip this year. My son will be 15 in August so getting some family photos right now it is hard with him so glad that they have this. I will be ordering it again when we go this summer.

Hi all! So I think I am understanding this Memory Maker thing correctly, but want to make sure it's not just correct in my head. Please correct anything I have wrong.

My family of 7 is staying in two rooms under two reservations made at the same time with the same travel agent with me as the main contact. If My dad (retired Air Force reservist) buys memory maker with a military discount, there is no 3 day wait where pictures won't show up. Being we have magic bands staying on property, pictures attached to any of the 7 magic bands will show on the same account even though we're in two different rooms. Dad can buy the memory maker before or after pictures are taken and once pictures are in our account they remain there for download for 30 days. Only me (or dad?) can edit photos and download, but can send copies to the rest of the family or give them the login info to download their own set.

Correct? Thanks!

Very close. they pictures expire after 45 days, and it's 45 days from when they were taken so they will disappear 1 day at a time 45 days later. Memory maker itself will expire in 30 days after you activate it and you do not activate it until you go to download any or all of the photos. If your all one account, then that mde login is who will activate and download the photos. You don't need to buy it before you take photos but that discount does require you to purchase it while at WDW in person so don't forget to buy it before you leave.

Accident - this is a terrific post. Many thanks. I have a big family trip coming up and have been struggling to decide whether to get Memory Maker or not. We will be taking our own pictures, but it would be really neat if for one fixed price, we can get a week's worth of action photos on the rides for the whole family.

What had confused me was what I perceive to be conflicting language on the MDE website. The Memory Maker terms and conditions say:

"The Memory Maker Guest will have the ability to download or unlock unexpired photos and other digitial content shared by members of the Memory Maker Guest's Family & Friends list DURING THEIR MEMORY MAKER WINDOW. Memory Maker and the ability to download or unlock shared photos and other digital content is intended for the personal use of the Memory Maker Guest ONLY. Downloading or unlocking, or offering to download or unlock, Disney PhotoPass photos or other digital content for the benefit of other guest, INCLUDING FOR THE BENEFIT OF INDIVIDUALS ON THE MEMORY MAKER GUEST'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS LIST... is a violation."

From that, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to access anyone's ride photos unless I tapped it at the end of the ride with my magic band. That wouldn't be worth $149. But if members of my family who have linked MDE accounts can tap their own bands (on rides I'm not on with them) and I can download, then I'd do it.

The terms and conditions appear to conflict with the "Important Details" on the Memory Maker purchase page, which says "Not only can you download your own Disney PhotoPass photos, but also those of Family & Friends who share media with you. So with JUST ONE PURCHASE of Memory Maker, you could get all the Disney PhotoPass photos of EVERYONE IN YOUR TRAVEL PARTY."

It sounds from your post that that interpretation is correct and not what the terms & conditions appear to say, which is very reassuring to me before I plunk down all of this money.

Yeah it's funny legal team wording that favors disney as does everything else in the small print including your tickets to enter. I"m not legal council so I think it would be unwise to give my interpretation of it. but I knwo for a long time there was groups you could join to all split the cost of memory maker and sometimes it was hundreds of mde accounts sharing photos where everyone chiped in 50 cents and weren't even on the same dates, just sharing the same 30 day memory maker window.. I personally don't think disney is interested in the large group traveling together situation but it might.

Now with linked accounts and the one buying memory maker all the photos for any of the bands on any of those accounts linked to you will appear and you can get with your memory maker, that is what the second thing is saying. the first kind of sounds liek they are saying everyone who gets a copy of that download shoudl also be paying disney for it. but again I'm not legal council and unqualified to give advice on what it means.

bands you don't need to tap, they will wirelessly signal your in the ride and what car for the photo to get linked to you with no additional effort. cards and photographers you need to tap and yes if your linked and they let you see their photos (it is an option they can turn off you seeing them) they will just appear in your account.

Sorry if this has already been answered in this thread...but it wasn't very clear in the original post (unless I misread)...

Our last visit was 3-4 years ago. Am I reading correctly elsewhere that if I've purchased Photopass and am wearing my MB on rides with photos, that photos will be automatically linked and available for viewing online? No need to scan a MB at the photo booth after the ride? And if that is the case...how quickly are photos typically available for viewing? Thanks!

EDIT: One other question...for Photopass do I need to do anything before my arrival? Or once we've arrived we just scan MB's with photographers then select the link to MB's once we've had pictures taken?

Photopass is free there is nothing to prepurchase to have ride photos linked to your account. Yes 1 feature of the magicband is it will wirelessly claim your photos for you and they will just appear. most of the time it's minutes if even that long after the photo is taken and on a lot of rides, that's before you can even get off the ride.

Now, buying a copy of that photo that is yours to keep is where you need to spend some money. if your going to want all the ride photos and made good use of the photographers, then 1 of you should buy memory maker at the pre-trip discounted price for the best deal.

If everyone is on 1 mde account then nothing to do before you get there. If you have several mde accounts in your traveling party then link the accounts together before you get there. This is not specific to photos and you probably already did this for room reservations, tickets, fastpass and dining reservations (or some combination of these things) already.

I think some of the confusion, at least for me, comes from the fact that 3-4 years ago photopass+ was something you did pre-purchase; any pictures taken prior to purchase would not be included. Memory maker is not photopass+ renamed, they are different.

that a good wording, going to add it to the first post.

Thanks...yeah had already planned to purchase memory maker...just couldn't remember if there was something separate related to Photopass...but sounds like we're good to go. Thanks for the clarification!
