April or June trip can't decide

We are trying to plan a trip to Disney and are having a hard time deciding on when to go. Let me start off by saying that we certainly are disney veterans, we have been half a dozen times and this certainly won't be our last trip. First option is Easter week which is April 15-22, school vacation for us in Boston. I know that this is a very popular time of year, weather is more comfortable but prices especially airfares much higher. Option 2 is the last week of June when my son finally finishes school for the summer. Much warmer I am assuming, a little cheaper but probably more crowded? Looking for some help deciding.

April, all day long! We went for just a day early June and swore we'd never do June again - SO hot and muggy.

easter week will be more crowded than summer and yes summer is crowded. It'll be a lot hotter, do you care about avatar?

I like the last week of June. Cheaper and IMHO equal crowds, if not better than over Easter (crowded!). I've stayed in various times of year over the last few years and I don't think June/July are really that fundamentally different crowd-wise than other times. Maybe on the fringes but not crazy. A good plan and FP utilization is pretty much needed any time of year anyway.

Good luck planning (BTW, I'm probably going that last week of June too!).

Hi, fellow masshole here... I'm waiting until April 2018 when Easter and April vacation don't match up for us here in Mass. April is just amazing down in Florida... great weather. Really enjoyable.

If you can put it off until 2018 I would. BUT... if you are doing 2017 .... then it's one of those things you'll have to weigh your options and decide based on your personal preferences.

I think air fare in April would be too high and if you go in June you can stay longer. We go in June when the kids get out of school. Last year we did DL during February vacation and it was actually cheaper than WDW, mostly due to the flights out of Manchester NH.

June is hot but we stay longer so don't have to cram as much into each day.

I would recommend June. Easter is a large crowd week. Summer is hotter, but less crowded.

Another vote for June. I would never go Easter Week, even if someone offered me a free trip.

June, June , June over Easter week! I've been to Disney more than 60 times. Only went once during Easter week and never again. Crowds are horrific. We go often at the end of June (this year as well!) and yes it's hot but crowds are much more manageable.

Last year I went the last week of April for 12 days and left on May 4th. The weather was great. Not muggy hot. This year due to school we arrive June 1st. I have looked at past calendar and it looks like the parks are open earlier and also later. So that would be a plus.

The week leading up to Easter is PACKED. With Easter being on the 16th, crowds should lessen a bit after that. However, Star Wars 1/2 Marathon Weekend starts on April 20th, so you'll have increased crowds for that, but still manageable. You'll also see Flower & Garden Festival, which is one of my favorite things! On the flip side, June will most likely have longer hours, so you can take breaks from the heat and there's the possibility of Avatar being open, as they are anticipating a summer date.

Massachusetts native here too. We always go someplace warm on April vacation, usually DL or WDW. We went the year Easter and April vacation were the same week in 2014. Can you say crowded?! We do not plan to go again in April when Easter and vaca are the same week. Too crowded. We have never gone in June so I can't compare those crowds. This April we are going to St Petersburg and doing a beach vacation instead of WDW bc of Easter. Flights are outrageous now for that week too. I usually buy April vaca plane tix way back when they come out bc they always just get more expensive. All that considered, I think if my options were April or June I would probably still go in April even though it's Easter and just plan for the crowds, utilize fast passes, get there at rope drop, etc
