DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Did a quick trip off campus to gather supplies for the game tonight and had decent Mexican for lunch.
The game looked a good one. I've got it on PVR. Worth watching?
I was a little disappointed in the food, not hot at all
That was going to be one of my ADR's. May have to go back to the drawing board.
I am so glad that I decided to he11 with it and drive up.
Nice one. As bud said, you are one of the OG's.
Wow, get to book Fastpasses tomorrow for next trip sure does make getting over the Holiday trip easier
Come on then, Darcy coughed up, what did you go for? What park what day?

London back to normal after the aforementioned industrial action. Had a cheeky win this morning, was double checking my vacation hotel for March, and noticed it was £300 cheaper for the same room on the same dates. So a quick cancel rebook, and saved some cash. Or it payed for the NFL games, whichever way you look at it.

Have a good day chaps.

Morning gents.
I've decided that global warming isn't coming as quickly as it should.
I'm idling my car all the time now. From now on.

Happy Tuesday. We have warmed up to a balmy 50 degrees. Still ready to move to Florida.

She has never had a male roommate and no, that wouldn't happen under any roof where I am residing. It was her college roommate from Seton Hall and Seton Hall is definitely against co-ed rooms. Very close friends who hung out with each other since day 2 of their Freshman year.
.

Good to know you still have some sense about you. :lmao:

And, glad to hear it worked out for you. Mine have asked to take friends to WDW, but I'm not there yet. We still enjoy the family vacation and I'm not ready to include the friends.

I guess if you know what it is, it's not going to get worse and you're not in pain.... makes sense.

Well, not in pain all the time. Only when I move it a certain way.

Makes me glad I got the empty Main St. photo with my wife on my last trip. That was special, and I think the arrival of the train is what really made the opening show special. Without that, it's just another show.

I really like the train and enjoyed the train show as well.

Was going to ask when you are going until I saw the St Patrick's Day thing. That is a good list. I thought about trying the Boathouse this trip, but I don't think we are as the plan is to save some $ for the extra week of beach vacation.

Yes, I think anyone who got empty Main Street photos should be grateful because I think they are a thing of the past. Luckily I do have one of my family from a trip in 2013.

I have to confess I've never seen either show in person, just videos. I did think the train arrival brought a bit of excitement to the opening. Looking at the new show video, I do appreciate the homage to Walt's speech opening Disneyland and Mickey waving everyone into the park. I guess I'm kind of indifferent to the change. If the decision was based at least partly on security screening procedures, I can accept it. If the decision was only based on a early morning cash grab, then it leaves a bitter taste. I suppose we'll never know for sure.

A penny saved is a penny earned, as they say (or is it a pence?) Nice win either way.

Looks good. I've never done any of the dessert parties but I've been thinking of doing one. The Star Wars one they did at DDCC seemed good, based on the FB videos. I wonder how the Wishes one is. You'll have to let us know after your trip.

Doesn't sound good. It been cold in the east too, -11 with -25C/-13F windchill yesterday in St. John's.

We have warmed up to a balmy 50 degrees. Still ready to move to Florida.
I am just hoping that by the time I retire I am able to at least become a snowbird. (Canadians who winter in Florida and summer back in Canada, really the best of both. Friends of my parents do that seems awesome.)

Just arrived at home. Spent a few hours in West Palm for lunch with my college roommate. A bit tired.

The game looked a good one. I've got it on PVR. Worth watching?

In one word, Yep. Just to let you know it was a long game, about 4 hours with commercials.

Yea Boathouse does not accept anything, Tables in a Wonderland, Annual Passholder and DVC don't get ya anything. Been there once on me and DS trip and we really joyed it so figured with the 20% off on main dining with TIW and annual pass holder 20% off at severer quick service locations, Soithwest points for flights, etc worth the splurge.

Looking to do SW Desert as well but not available yet for our dates. Did Wishes and Jingle Bell Jingle Bam desert partites on recent trip, did SW desert in May and enjoyed them all. Wishes does not have alcohol drinks and is same price as others with adult beverages but food there was better. These are not cheap but as I referhave need above I look at not having to pay for flights and other discounts so a nice splurge. Big benefit is sitting on a chair at a table and having good views without having to camp out on the concrete for an hour or two. Reserved area viewing at HS events is better and nothing beats the view of Wishes from the Hub or Main Street. If I were to pick just one, the desert party at HS is the better of the two for the money IMHO.

Morning Guys, Happy Wednesday!

Nice plan. Looks like you arrive the day after we leave; darn, so close. Or was that good planning?

Morning gents.
I've decided that global warming isn't coming as quickly as it should.

Above freezing and rain here today. Crazy weather.

Yes, I think anyone who got empty Main Street photos should be grateful because I think they are a thing of the past. Luckily I do have one of my family from a trip in 2013.

I have a few of an empty Main St in the morning and a few of a nearly empty Main st at closing. Love those pictures.

Good morning gentlemen. Yes, I know I'm behind. Yes, I know that's always what I say when I get back here. Sorry. Anyway, I had a great time last week following the live feeds from Carl and the other dads at WDW on FB. It makes me appreciate the fun and camaraderie of this group. Prayers, pixie dust and positive wishes for those who need it.

Anyway, I stumbled across a thread yesterday that just made me think of you guys. I don't know why, I just can't quite put my finger on it...

Stopping in a bit a late today but doesn't look like I've missed much. Carry On.
Nice plan. Looks like you arrive the day after we leave; darn, so close. Or was that good planning?
Thanks. We get in on 3/11 and remember posting the same back a bit when I saw your trip game plan - 1 stinking day, too bad.

Nice job there, skippy.
Never done 50s PT or Mama Melrose....
I don't know why, I just can't quite put my finger on it...
I really wouldn't put my finger on that.

Evening boys from a cold London. That is all.

What a crappy day. For those not on FB, on my 61 of 70 miles to campus, I got in a car wreck. It was the other guys's fault, his jeep slid on a wet road into the back of my car. The muffler was smashed into my tire, so I had to have it towed back to my local body shop. Now, I get to deal with the insurance company and wait.

I would suggest not moving that way.

Bravo.

There is a DisDad law that we are required to make at least one rope drop. Don't make me charge you another round of dues. :lmao:

We've made it several trips and it is a fun way to start the day. I won't miss it as I've seen it enough times. I do enjoy the train ride around WDW, almost as much as one of those open boat rides.

Nice job there, skippy.
Never done 50s PT or Mama Melrose....
.

We did Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package last trip and we really enjoyed it. Not only did we get a good seat for Fantasmic without the massive line wait, but the food was really good. Both Mama Melrose and Nine Dragons were two places that get terrible reviews that we had really good meals.

Hey, the name of the page changed!? Was that you Randall @Cinderella's Fella ? I like it. I guess it makes sense now since the threads don't close after so many pages (I was never on the old boards long enough to remember much about that).

So, DD16 has a part time job at the local supermarket, she usually gets about 2 shifts a week (10 hours) but lately they have only been giving her one, which is not enough to put gas in her car (part of the deal when I bought the car is that she was responsible for gas). She's been looking at other options. She's also theatrically inclined and got an audition with a company that provides princesses for kids birthday parties. She hasn't auditioned yet but she's worried a second job might be too much. She is auditioning to be Elsa. I told her to try it but if it doesn't work out she would have to let it go.

I'm just giving you a chance to let that one sink in. I thought it was an epic dad joke. She did not really share my sentiment.
But seriously, I told her to audition and see what happens. School comes before it all, so as long as she can keep up with her studies, I'm fine with it.

The only thing that would be better about that thread is if it was started during DDCCV. Then we would know the culprits! :rotfl:

Yeah, saw that on FB. Not fun. At least it wasn't your fault, but still a pain to deal with insurance and the repairs. Hope you're feeling OK.

Is there? Dang, I must have missed that one. I did catch rope drop at Epcot years ago (I think they stopped doing them, right?). Does that count?

Same here. I was a bit hesitant with Mama Melrose because I had read mixed reviews as well. But it was fine, one of the few meals all week that the whole family enjoyed.
