I love credit cards so much!

I know you have to be on the same reservation. I've always used my card to pay for the flight. Back when it was us there was a disconnect between my card and mileage number so I would show them my card and it was fine but I was always alone. When my friend and I flew together last fall she didn't get anything because we were on separate red.
Yes, DH flew on miles last year & his bag was free. I was charged because I was not on his reservation & he was the card holder.

I'm booking a flight for a friend as a favor - I have plenty of UR points to cover the flight. They will be reimbursing me in cash, and have said they don't care if I pay for it in points or cash - they'll reimburse me cash regardless.

Should I use my UR points and take the corresponding cash amount, or charge it to my CSR?

Advice please!

I'd charge it to the CSR and get more 3x points. 3x more points per $ is a better redemption value than the 1.5 you'd be getting on redemption.

Denied due to 5/24! It's all good. I am happy with what I have :).
Did you call and find that out? Were you told you'd hear by mail in 7-10 days? ... I ask as I know 2 people who got the wait 7-10 days to hear back yesterday after applying and then today when we called the automated system to check statuses one had been changed to you'll hear back in 30 days, the other still sitting at 7-10 days. (Neither of them wants to call in.)

I called and spoke to 2 reps and they straight up told me I had opened 10 accounts in 2 years and there was no way to override the decision.

Ok, please bear with me as I'm a total noob with all this. I recently got the CSR and am working my way towards my 100,000 UR points. Ideally I'd like to convince my husband to take a trip to DisneyWorld over our son's Easter break from school. I've looked at some flights online through the UR portal just to see about how many points it would take. Looks like we'll easily have enough to cover 3 round trip tickets with lots of points to spare. My primary question is, would it be a smart move "transfer wise" to try to book at the Swan by moving UR points through Marriott then to Starwood? I've been doing tons of reading over on reddit churning, and from what I gather, this is the only way to turn those UR points into a hotel at Disney. I could definitely be missing something though. I'm honestly afraid to ask any questions over on reddit. Don't want to get chewed out. LOL. I would really appreciate anyone's feedback on this. I really don't know what I'm doing and this is the first time I'll be dipping my toe in the water of using credit card points for anything. All my previous cards were just cash back cards.

I'm new at this too so will probably be corrected but my take is swan is 10,000 spg points = 30,000 Marriott points = 30,000 ur points. There are wdw hotels you can book using ur points. That may be a better deal.

Thanks for the response. The whole 3:1 ratio was why I was not sure about the transfer in the first place. I'd hate to lose out on so many UR points if I don't have to. I suppose I need to read up way more to find out where else I can book at Disney with my UR points without having to transfer.

I'm also really new at this, know nothing about transferring points or what the better option would be, but I do know that when I was exploring the Chase travel portal and put in some random dates, about 12-14 Disney hotels came up in all categories, including our personal favorites POP and POFQ.

I'm a total noob too! I was wondering about the flights part... are you better off booking your flights through UR or transferring the points into miles with the airline you're looking at? When my brother was booking a Christmas flight on his CSP he saved a lot of money by turning the points into miles vs buying the tickets in the portal, but maybe that was because it was an exceptionally expensive time to fly?

I have another unrelated question. There is an AMEX offer right now for a $100 statement credit when spending $500 on certain cruise lines. I currently have a Carnival cruise booked and will take advantage of this offer to get this savings. My husband is an AU on my AMEX account and of course has his own card and log in. The offer is showing up on under his log in as well. Does this mean we should be able to take advantage of this offer twice if we make a payment with each card? I'm getting mixed response on some other forums about whether or not it would work since technically it's not his own AMEX card, but just an AU card on my account. I would think so, since his card is different from mine, but figured someone here may have experience with this type of thing.

I guess I need to look into that as well. It very well may be cheaper to transfer points to miles. I'm trying to work out all the transferring data points, but there are just so many. LOL. I would hate to screw myself by booking one way when there is a better option.

If he has the offer on his card, then it should work on both! My brother did something similar to this with his Amex and his wife an AU, and it worked out fine...they both got the $75 credit.

Thanks! I guess we'll try it out and see.

Yes this works, I do it all the time with multiple card holders on the same account.

Yes, you should see two credits as each card has it's own offer and card number.

Another thing to keep in mind is how much the hotel actually cost. so if you say Swan is 10k points, u spend 30k UR points to get those points, the hotel would have to cost more than $300 to make using points worth it. If its below $300, then its simplier to just redeem as statement credit at $.01 cents per points. By doing also also triggers your 3x and all the credit card benefits kicks in. If Starwood hotel is still the choice of hotel, you can also consider getting a starwood card. that card is also quite powerful as it has a LOT of transfer partners.

The flight part is similar to what ive said before. It really depends on how much it cost to fly with cash vs how many points it required. If you live in a big city, flying with cash might be better because there are a ton of really cheap deals. If you have the dates and destinations, i can probably quickly see whats available and see what ur options are.
