Orbitz/Expedia/Travelocity Rooms ??

I was able to get a 15% off on orbiz for GF. It's still more than we paid last year but until something better comes up, we'll keep the room.

Don't forget to use ebates! It was 2% when I used it yesterday.

I just made my Orbitz reservation today. It's just the second half of our split stay. (We wouldn't be doing the split stay without the great Orbitz deal.)

Anyway, those that have recently booked, how did you get your Disney reservation number from Orbitz? I know in 2013 I used the chat feature but I'm pretty sure that is gone. Do I need to call? Or will they just forward it. (I can dream :rotfl2:)

I booked with them last year and Disney actually sent me the number without my prompting. Came in an email about 5 days after I made the reservation. Previous bookings I emailed Orbitz for it.

I just booked with Orbitz last week. I spent a LOT of time trying to find the chat feature and never did, so I ended up calling Orbitz to get our Disney confirmation number. I had an agent that was unfortunately inexperienced, and she was very hard to understand, but we got through it! She totally didn't understand what I needed, and that was the main problem. I finally told her that whenever I booked Orbitz trips in the past, the agent put me on hold to call Disney to get the Disney conf. #. So she finally did that. But before that, she kept trying to give me the confirmation number already on the reservation, which obvioulsy isn't what I need. Anyway, I'm very glad they fixed the child glitch, now I just wish there was a way to get the confirmation # we need without having to call. I only waited 3 days, maybe I needed to give it a bit longer and perhaps I would've received it via email like the poster above.

I called Orbitz a day after booking to get my Disney confirmation number. The agent didn't speak the best English but I got my point across and she happily called Disney for me. I also got an email about 5 days after booking from Disney Destinations with my confirmation number as well so I think I could have waited and gotten it that way.

I noticed that Hilton Head and Vero Beach are not being offered.
Bummer, we are going to HH this summer and I was hoping to possibly book through orbitz with a discount. I currently have a room booked directly through Disney but the cost makes me cringe!

I booked a split stay CSR/BWI through Orbitz last week. Got the general discount Disney was offering and stacked the 15% Orbitz discount on top of that. I booked BWI first because it was the longest and most expensive leg of the trip so gave me more Orbitz bucks, I then applied those bucks as well as the Ortiz 15% to my CSR stay. Came out about $500 less than I would have using my AP discount, would have had to book BCV instead of BWI since the Disney site didn't even have anything available for BWI for my dates. Dang it, I forgot to go through Ebates, I keep forgetting that with Amazon too. Oh, and I do have a $25 cancellation fee with both resorts. When I was comparing costs, I factored that in, just in case I did find something cheaper later on.

Can someone explain how to stack discounts? If I reserve a room only thru an agent or Disney, then I have a room. How do you get an Orbitz/Expedia discount without having to buy another room?

When would any room only discounts, from anyone, come out for October- December of this year?

You reserve your room through Orbitz then enter their discount code if there is one. You don't book through Disney or your travel agent. I guess technically your travel agent could book it for you and use your CC but that would be a little silly. No one knows if any discounts will come out for Oct-Dec.

But I read about people saying they get a room thru Disney and then " stack" an Orbitz discount on top of that......

OK, so I wound up reserving using LETSJET on cheap tickets, but it capped the discount t at $150. I was going to wait until I found something better, but it showed it was the last room. Seems they have not received a large amount of inventory from Disney!

You book through Orbitz/Expedia/CheapTickets with the additional %% off and then cancel your booking made directly with Disney.

And even better, you book on orbitz or travelocity or other company via ebates, and get cash back on top of disney discount and on top of 15% AND then pay with a 2% cash back credit card! 15% off a 25% discounted room with a 2% cash back on total and 2% cash back with credit card.

Even with all the discount stacking at Orbitz/Cheaptickets etc, I still found that the agency exclusive deal that is popular on this board was still cheaper. You might want to google/look into it.

This can be true but one needs to be flexible with dates, view, and resort. When I contacted them, one part of our trip aligned with their dates but it was only a 5% discount off of rack at a mod. My deluxe stay wasn't within their time frame and our dates are not flexible.

Certainly worth a try, but sometimes you need to maximize other options like stacking.
