Has anyone had luck with the bounce back in early December of this year?

No October. I wonder why. I thought that was a quieter time of year.

They did last year, too, for December. Their predictive retrospective has been weak this year.

October has fall breaks, Columbus Day, a major Jewish holiday, Food & Wine, and several other things. The first week is Gartner, which is huge and books a lot of the hotel rooms up at conference rates. 17 of 29 days of October last year were 8+ at Magic Kingdom.

Ok, I need to look at last december and make a decision.

thanks!

Yup, last december was packed! However, I am not sure if WDW has a slow time anymore

Yeah, not really.

I think the keys are not to be embracing the "but it's a low crowd time!" and have a reasonable plan, and not freak out when you find out about walls of people. In early December, the trick to MK is go on a party night and not sulk about leaving at 7. Rope drop to early afternoon, you can get lots done.

We changed the meaning of the 1-to-10 scale for 2017. So what used to be an '8' is now something around 5. That might be part of this.

Here's the blog post: http://blog.touringplans.com/2016/07/26/wdw-cc-update/

I tend to agree most strongly with something else y'all say -- a plan goes further than the difference between a pair of dates. I see people planning so intensely based on numbers, but "crowd" is so personal a lot of them get upset after the fact about crowd level, especially when "it's supposed to be quieter!"

And a lot of stuff has fixed capacity, so even "lower crowd" doesn't mean you'll walk up to Ohana.

October is packed. People who don't go try to spread the misinformation that it's a great time to go - it's about as busy as the standard summer (non-holiday) months. I actually had someone call me a liar on another Disney page, only to find out they never go in the fall - and that's the only time we've gone. 2010 was fairly decent crowds - 2011 and on, it's been crazy.

Hi when you book the bounce back room only discount do you only pay the $200 deposit like a package or do you have to put half down like a normal room only booking, I need to make sure I have right amount of $ available when I come in Nov!

Bouncebacks follow the usual Disney reservation rules. If you book it as a package with tickets or dining plan, you pay the $200 required of any package. Balance will be do 30 days before you arrive. If you book just a room reservation, you pay 1 nights deposit, balance due at checkin. Usual cancellation rules too, 30 days for the package, 5 days for the room only.

BTW, a "normal room only" booking only requires 1 night deposit, not half!

Oh mine must be half because it's only 2 night Haaaa thanks for clearing that up!!!

Are these bounceback offers still offered?

Yes, the room discount offer in the 2nd post is still the current offer. It has become harder to find the info in your room. Some resorts are no longer leaving the booklet with the offer in it in the rooms. Call ext 8844 from your room phone & ask for the current deal. Also note Disney uses the term " future stay offer" , not bounceback. Resort employees like housekeepers & even the front desk don't have current' accurate info on these offers. Always call the 8844 number for the current offer. You don't have to wait for any kind of invitation or promo advertising to be eligible. Any adult currently a guest at a Disney resort is eligible to book a bounceback.
