Disney Gift Card Deals

I just bought 6% off cards at Raise, and tried to buy Disney gift cards online. The order went through, and then was cancelled. i am waiting for a call back from a supervisor to let me know what is up. I should have checked here first! I'm guessing that my only other option is to turn my ecards into hard Target cards, then go to my store to purchase Disney cards. Has anyone had any luck fighting the change? The order went all the way through, which is why I bought another gc and put in another order. Panicking a little at the moment...

**Edited to add: you were all right--supervisor didn't help, and I could not even convert e gift cards into hard Target GCs. Didn't realize I could have checkout scan the bar code on the egift cards and skip that step. So that's what I will do today when I try to buy Disney GCs. Hoping they have the 100 dollar ones, or that will be a LOT of work...

This has been the "new" policy for quite some time now; call back from Supervisor won't help. You are correct that you will have to go in store to convert to Disney. The registers allow gift card to gift card purchases, but some employees/store managers do not. Good luck.

you can load them into the Target app on your phone and pay for your purchase in store using GC's from within the app.

You're not going to win a fight with the store over a policy that they are allowed to have.

I was in Target today and they had trouble with their Target credit card transactions going through. (3 of us failed. ) I was at the self-checkout, and an assistant tried to help me by putting through a manual 5% discount, but it only worked on the goods, not the Disney gift cards ($500). The manager said they did away with the 5% on Disney gift cards. Has anyone else heard this? I'm tempted to go to another Target, but I don't want to deal with the credit card variable again.

I think we all knew it was a matter of time I am guessing the GC to GC transaction will be going away soon too :guilty:

I don't believe this was a GC to GC transaction - I believe OP is saying that she was using a Target Red Card and the 5% wasn't coming off purchasing Disney gift cards.

Does anyone here know if Staples allows online purchases of egc with a Staples gc? I tried searching this thread, but Staples has come up so many times, the results were a little overwhelming.

Never mind, I found my answer (finally) on the staples website.

No

Edit: And I see you must have edited your initial post at the same time as my reply :)

Wow!! That is wonderful!!!
It was a true miracle :D Thank you!

Congratulations!!! Here's hoping you can find some new ways to save or earn some extra. Any chance you have some people in your network that can give you some work-at-home options, like transcribing or data-entry? Do the docs not want you to work to allow healing or to avoid getting sick?
Thankfully the company I work for has been incredible and they're giving me some home work. Thankfully my doctors are pretty realistic, I just have to be cautious about being in an office setting for a while.
And unfortunately i have to take extra precautious when in crowded places, extra sanitizers and masks all the fun stuff :D
But the next time I go to Disney World I will be oxygen free, I'll be able to walk and enjoy the parks without feeling like a zombie! Or avoiding things because i'm too tired.
It's so incredible really I cant wait to go back and enjoy Disney in a whole new way. It'll be like going for the first time all over again!!!
And I am really excited about cruising. I think that will be the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation.

I'm am taking my dad on this cruise as a thank you to him. He's redoing our house to make it more accommodating and I put him and my mom through a lot of stress the past couple months. My dream would be to send them to Aulani for a trip together. My mom has dreamed of Hawaii forever, so that is on my list for 2018/19 :) it would be a wonderful surprise!

OK...a little help...

I redeemed by Swagbucks back in December (early) for a $25 Best Buy gift card. I went to the store today with the printout and, sure enough....it was drained. The cashier said it was "invalid, expired or used up". I know that there was an issue with the e-cards getting hacked a while back with PPDG and such, but for some reason, I didn't worry about it since I got mine from Swagbucks.

What was the solution to this, if there was one? Do I need to deal with SwagBucks (doubt it) or with Best Buy? Luckily, it's only $25, but still...

Just went to the Target site, and it says that RED card's 5% is not available for "Target gift cards and prepaid cards, Stockpile and Gift of College gift cards".
Nothing about any other gift cards.
Were you trying to pay with Target gift cards as well? That's hte only reason I can see for the 5% not going through.

I was not trying to pay with gift cards. Just trying to pay with my Target credit card to get the basic 5% off. The monkey wrench was that since the system wasn't taking my or anyone's Target credit card at that moment, the nice employee was trying to take 5% off for me, even though I was then going to pay with a different card. He asked a manager when 5% amounted to way too little, and the manager said the 5% didn't apply to Disney gift cards any more. He even said "Some guy came in and was buying hundreds of dollars, to pay for his next vacation," and that's why "they 86'd it."

But this is not direct evidence about charging to the Target credit card, so I'll try again and report back. Thanks for the recent evidence to the contrary; that's what I was hoping for.

I agree about Receipt Hog. I started it I want to say in the summer. I'm almost to $30, but it will take me probably another 2 months to get there.
