DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Well, it happened. I was able to get away and am now in the World. Woke up at 4, out of the house by 5 and the driving stunk. Dense fog for the first 150 miles and decided to pull off at Ft. Pierce to cat nap at the rest stop. After a nap arrived a little before 10. Met up with a few of the boys at the Hanger bar and and a good time was had by all. Dead tired so that is all for now.

Stay safe and bundled up, up there. Severe storms here tonight and tomorrow. So bad they canceled the half marathon. Going to freeze on Sunday.

Glad to hear you were able to make it Cj, were are you bunking down?

I was brought up on Carry On films. I am trained to see a double entendre from 200 yards.

Haven't thought of those movies in a long time. Use to watch them in my younger days and always thought I was getting away with something dirty.

Seems like a good time down there. Maybe you'll end up in one of those videos.

Mouth. Goes down to the stomach instead of up to it.
Doesn't sound fun. I haven't had the displeasure of either...yet. I'm not sure which end is worse.

I've heard of Carry On but I don't remember ever seeing it. I'll have to check it out on YouTube.

Morning Guys,

Hope you are staying warm on this chilly Sunday morning. It's actually warmer here today so I guess we are headed for summer (-10 C or about +10 F). DS has a semi-final game in the tournament at 2:20 so I'm guessing it will be a quiet morning. They went 3-0 in pool play to finish 1st in their pool and that will should have set up a much easier cross-over game.

Just waiting for the rest of the family to get up so I can make some breakfast. Have a good one all!

Morning gents.

Sounds positively balmy Darcy. We're sitting at -22 (-7F) right now.
Car's plugged in, so no worries. Bigger news is... no snow!!!
Good luck to DS in the tourney.

That's where we were yesterday.

Well, hopefully we'll be where you are tomorrow.

<checks forecast>

Dang it!!! More frickin' snow!..... and then colder!!!

Suppose to be +7 and rain here on Wednesday; it's been a weird winter so far.

Happy Sunday. Yesterday, DW thought it would be a great day to put up all the Christmas decorations right around the start of the NFL playoffs. I had all of last week to take them down. After i protested, the decorations came down and i put all the boxes under the stairs. :furious:

Mouth. Goes down to the stomach instead of up to it.

There is yet another joke in there, but it too shall pass. :lmao:

I haven't had either procedure yet, and don't plan to. I have the worst insurance imaginable, but maybe in a few years of trying this HSA thing, it might be worthy of consideration.

.

Well, at least with one you get to fart a lot afterwards.

So, you win the worse place to live award. -7? C'mon Man!

all right, all right... settle down.

Dude. Insurance or no.... if the doc says do it.... do it.
$$$ or life. Pick one.

Yay! I win!!! Wait.........

Actually -7 isn't that bad. Sucks when it gets cold, though.

Evening boys from a frosty London. Garden tidied and ready for the inevitable rain, kids partied, George and DW Rogue One'd, and 4 miles ran. Had some awesome 28 day aged hereford rib of beef with some greens and sugar snap peas. Watching the playoffs. Bought the 4 international NFL games today, so that's something to look forward to in October. Except one of them is the Browns/Vikings.

Just waiting for the rest of the family to get up so I can make some breakfast
I'm still in the zone of small children knocking me on the head and saying, I want to go downstairs now.

::yes::

You're not missing much mate.....its something to really experience when you're a young teenager, as Darcy alluded to.
I never went today.
Slacker.
Was fun being high all day afterwards
Industrial size bag of cheetos high?

Enjoy the football chaps, London out.

Afternoon gents. Sorry for thos down at DaWorld that had the marathon cancelled. Did a bit of a Christmas reboot with a turkey dinner and just the 4 of us and Inlaws yesterday which was really nice. Kids back at school today which believe it or not really sucks as it was a great holiday break with them around. Watching NFL playoffs today, is there gonna be a good game? Wind chills have been 0 / single digits this weekend and we actually a few inches of snow on Friday which is still hanging around on the ground. Have a good Sunday and to those at the convention - cheers!
Here we go! Just settling in to listen (yes, listen, not watch since I'm back at work so only have internet radio) to Canada vs. USA in the World Junior Hockey tournament. Yes, I'm aware that most of you had no idea that existed, but it's always fun to see our two countries play for gold. I'm not sure what to expect from this one since we lost to the US on New Year's Eve during the round robin.
Was a great game and not just because of the final result.
Morning all,

Cool morning here in the North but not too bad. Another busy basketball weekend as another tournament is about to kick off, two games tournament today and at least one tomorrow. Don't know what we will do with all our free time when basketball comes to an end.

Have a good one.
Good luck to DS this weekend
Cool. See you in the bar in 5. If you get there first, I'll have an old fashioned, with Makers. I'm feeling all retro today.
That sounds like a really good idea, may need to make one today

Nice getting up there to see the boys. Again, sorry about the weather and marathon cancellation. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Congrats to DS and good luck in the semi.

Sounds like a great day right there but then again any day with a SW movie is a great day.

Very weird. Lots of snow and cold, but also several heavy rain days. Wild swings in temperature.

Had some awesome 28 day aged hereford rib of beef with some greens and sugar snap peas.
The beef sounds great, anything green I tend to think of as just decoration. :p

You're not missing much mate.....its something to really experience when you're a young teenager, as Darcy alluded to.
I checked out a bit of Carry On via YouTube. You're right, probably most enjoyed as a teenager.

Kids back at school today which believe it or not really sucks as it was a great holiday break with them around.
I am still at the point where I can't wait for them to get out of the house again and go back to school. But I'm sure when I get to the point where they aren't around everyday, I'll think it's nice to have them home too.

I need this game to be over - there's a tube strike in the morning and its gonna take me about 2 hrs+ to get in. It's 0020. I have no discipline.

Good luck to Declan on the game. It's 19 degrees here now - a heat wave.

They won the semi-final easily and then tool down the previously unbeaten, #1 ranked, cross-town rival in an OT thriller 96-91 in the final. DS played 44 of the 45 minutes, had 17 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks. The tournament namesake told him he was the best defender on the floor; that meant a lot to him.

So, you win the worse place to live award. -7? C'mon Man!

That's often been said about Winnipeg. ;)
