Maybe they determined the target opening date after the blackout dates were set for the other passes but before this one was released so it was the "least" they could do...It all seems so weird, I mean I would say that is probably what it means because I don't think ROL is going to be a riot scene .... but how many of these are they going to sell that it would be a huge impact. You have to assume folks would save their days for the very end of the ticket, using them during a holiday weekend and more. I would think many buying these tickets are not particularly looking to being there towards the end with the bigger crowds.
Gold are not blocked out, Silver block out doesn't start until the 5th and Weekday don't block out until the 3rd. I would venture that the masses will be at the park when Pandora opens ..... Discovery tickets are the least of their worries. When it opens they are going to be crushed, probably more than any other addition to the parks, for now. You will need to get a FP+ to get in line for a FP+.
But yes, I'm very torn about how I feel. I don't have to see it now bc odds are we will be back in 2019 (initial excitement and crowds will have thinned) and that's not a long time to wait. But it should be a nice experience this summer, albeit the crowds. I mentioned it to hubby and he's excited, so there's that. Mind you, he hasn't been since Epcot opened so he will be experiencing so many new things, I think he'd be ok without it this time, too. But if it's open, I doubt we can avoid it, therefore planning is going to take some working around. Of course, iif it's anything like what's been going on, we won't hear anything official to mid may, which will give me about half a month to re-do my plans. Haha.
