DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Uh, huh. Ya know where you can stick that snowblower, huh?

I usually stick it in the shed when I'm done.

DW just found your trip report, she likes the your pictures especially the Splash Mountain pic.

Yes it looks like there are having quite a good time down there in the world. I have been following them on Facebook and wishing I was there! I'm from Central PA married to my wife for seven years, (proposed and honeymooned down there), two girls (4 & 1). We have our first kids free trip planned for this December.

And yes, Dole Whips all around!

We honeymooned there as well. I have two dds, and their first trip was 3 & 15 months. My younger was scared of the costumed characters, but enjoyed the princesses. Now, they are both teenagers and I'm scared.

I think you will fit in just fine!

::yes::

1/4"...... :rotfl:
.

Yup, that was why I posted it. It looks like school will be closed again tomorrow as well. And, there has not been any more snow. :furious:

Sounds awesome. Nice to have a quiet week after being on property.

That was what we thought. And, I've not been away from home for 2 weeks at one time before.

Just to add to @pkondz sentiment on 1/4" of snow...

When you've had 80 cm/31 inches in one day in April, then we'll talk emergency :P

Mine must be melting before they arrive in the mail. I've yet to receive my slice and more than 10 guys joined since me...
.

Again, yeah, that's the way it works here.

As for the forwarded dues, I've sent 100% of all the ones i've received.

So..... If a snowflake falls in the forest and no one is there to see it.... they close the schools anyways.

I believe this.

World Junior Hockey tournament.
It's all we are talking about around the watercooler.
If it wasn't already clear, Darcy and I find our blowers perform really well. Much better experience than doing the job manually by hand...

Morning boys from a sunny but cold London. That is all. As you were.

Here we go! Just settling in to listen (yes, listen, not watch since I'm back at work so only have internet radio) to Canada vs. USA in the World Junior Hockey tournament. Yes, I'm aware that most of you had no idea that existed, but it's always fun to see our two countries play for gold. I'm not sure what to expect from this one since we lost to the US on New Year's Eve during the round robin.

Sounds like it was a great game. I was interested in the tournament because the Flyers had 9 prospects there on the various teams...Canada's goalie was one of them.

I do agree that a shootout is a lousy way to end a tournament.

We've all had days when they closed the schools over nothing. I think it always stems from some administrator who got burned years ago one time when they stayed open and the roads ended up being dangerous, so they vowed never to make that mistake again.

Sounds like you guys will be finishing up the year on July 4 at this rate.

Morning all,

Cool morning here in the North but not too bad. Another busy basketball weekend as another tournament is about to kick off, two games tournament today and at least one tomorrow. Don't know what we will do with all our free time when basketball comes to an end.

Have a good one.

Morning all from another cold Friday. Schools were back in session today surprisingly, but I had to drag oldest dd there as she had convinced herself it would be closed. Just 3.5 more years until HS is over. :furious:

In other news, received a call about the job I applied for back in December and learned three things (1) Still no one was hired (2) I was only candidate without the right education, (3) I was in the top 2 being considered.

I sort of wanted to ask if that was from a list of 2 applicants or if everyone else already turned down the job. :lmao: I figured it would be best to pass on the snark for now.

So..... If a snowflake falls in the forest and no one is there to see it.... they close the schools anyways.
.

Yes, and they close because temp is too cold, you know about 10 degrees F.

I caught that too but tried to pass on making comments. It was hard.

Government officials making policies from fear or from "that's the way we have always done it". And people wonder why the government doesn't work. :sad2:

I just can't wait for all this chauffeuring to swim to be done. Only 3.5 more years ....

Cool. See you in the bar in 5. If you get there first, I'll have an old fashioned, with Makers. I'm feeling all retro today.

Gentleman, you never fail to disappoint. I was hoping at least one of you would catch it. And yes, deep down I really am a 13 year old boy.

We've had a few mornings like that in our house, when a snow day is predicted but doesn't happen. I partly laugh at the girls dragging themselves out of bed, but I partly get irritated because it's a pain for the parents to get them ready on time.

The kids have all these "tricks" for "getting a snow day" now that I never heard of growing up. They wear pajamas inside out, flush an ice cube down the toilet, and put a spoon under their pillow. I have no idea where any of it came from, but I guess it's all the social media connections they have now. I don't think mother nature cares and she's gonna do what she wants.

As nervous as I was about my oldest getting her license, and then not sure if buying a second car was the right move, I can say after two months, it really is a blessing to not have to do so much driving around. It especially came in handy over Christmas when DD worked late, I didn't have to worry about picking her up, and to...ahem...have a designated driver around was nice.

If you get there first, I'll have an old fashioned, with Makers.
In all seriousness, I've never had an old fashioned, but heard of it several times and it sounds like a good drink. Something I need to try eventually.

Well, it happened. I was able to get away and am now in the World. Woke up at 4, out of the house by 5 and the driving stunk. Dense fog for the first 150 miles and decided to pull off at Ft. Pierce to cat nap at the rest stop. After a nap arrived a little before 10. Met up with a few of the boys at the Hanger bar and and a good time was had by all. Dead tired so that is all for now.

Stay safe and bundled up, up there. Severe storms here tonight and tomorrow. So bad they canceled the half marathon. Going to freeze on Sunday.

Afternoon chaps from a wet and grey London. I love everything about this city, apart from this kind of weather.

I was brought up on Carry On films. I am trained to see a double entendre from 200 yards.

Good effort CJ making it up there. Hope the storms don't rain on the parade too much.

I didn't have to worry about picking her up, and to...ahem...have a designated driver around was nice.
Also a big positive from with the missus when she was pregnant. 9 months worth of free cab rides.

In all seriousness, I've never had an old fashioned, but heard of it several times and it sounds like a good drink. Something I need to try eventually.
Its good if you have a lower of the range bourbon, it just take the edge off.

Have a good day all

Good morning all. Yet another swim meet today. This one is city vs county schools, which goes a bit faster, but the locals make a greater consideration than regionals or state cuts. Go figure.

Ok boys. I'm calling it. Work time over. Everyone out.

You still need to work on this time zone thing. :lmao:

I still haven't grown up either, and don't plan to do so anytime soon.

I still have my days, but I'm over this whole worrying thing. It hasn't served me well over the years, and doesn't change the outcome. To take a quote from Elsa, I need to "Let it go"

Glad you made it safely thru the fog. Have fun and keep warm. I'll try to survive in the high 25 temperature today.

Went in for a gastroscopy yesterday. Was fun being high all day afterwards.

:lmao:

So I know where the scope goes in the colonoscopy. Where does it enter for that?
