By the time we got to MK it was around 11am. The 45th anniversary celebration was just a few days before, which sadly we missed, but they still had the decorations up.
And Halloween decorations were up! Love it!
And now it's time to stop for a must do. A Main Street selfie!
And Rob stopped to try and pull the sword from the stone. My hero!
We rode Haunted Mansion with a FP then met up with my SIL and her fiancé who had been there since 9:30. We rode the People Mover together and Little Mermaid together then they left. We used our last FP on POTC and Rob stopped for a Dole Whip. The CM here was so rude that it threw me off and I didn't even get a pic. I was kinda over it from our mixed up plans and we left at 2pm as the sky was getting dark.
Good timing because it started pouring as soon as we got under cover for the bus.
Back at the resort we waited out the rain for a couple hours then headed for Poly around 4:30 for our evening plans. I totally didn't realize the bus stop at the Marketplace area was closed, so we found the new stop down in the Springs shopping area, which was so big and different and it totally threw me off. I love it, but it's so different there now.
Now we come to the best part. As we are on the bus to Poly I am looking at Instagram and my fav Disney Gramer posts that the Hitchhiking Ghost Tiki mugs are finally available today at Trader Sam's. Wow! I was dying to get my hands on one of these after I saw the pics from the release at the Trader Sam's in CA but I thought I would not get lucky enough to be here in FL if and when they released them here. Not only was I here at WDW, but I'm on the bus, headed to Poly, to go to Trader Sam's. The Luck!
I am totally freaking out and passed my excitement on to Rob, who was now also freaking out. We get to Poly and two people literally go running past us into the lobby. What if they are in a rush to get in and get this mug we said as we laughed. Then we got serious and started running too. We get to the hallway by Captain Cook's and it is a MASSIVE line for Trader Sam's. We wait in the line and they say we have to put our name in to come in and buy the mug. That's fine. We were planning on hitting Tambu Lounge and then going to TS anyway. The worry was that they only had 200 mugs. Would we get one? They were out of pagers at this point so we had to keep running down to check our place in line and try to get a pager. We were given a wait time of 90-120 minutes. We were in for a long night.
We waited our or wait at Tambu Lounge. Fortunately we got two seats at the bar. Rob started with his favorite, the Smoked Turkey. Barf. He loves it though.
I got the Island Sunset. Seven Tiki Spiced Rum, PARROT BAY Coconut Rum, melon and peach combined with our guava-passion fruit juice.
We also got the pork sliders with Kona Coffee Barbecued Pork topped with slaw.
Rob finally scored a pager on his trip down to check on the line.
Then Rob got his second favorite drink now that he was able to relax with the pager in hand. Lapu Lapu time!
My SIL arrived around 6:30, so I let them take my place at the bar and I went downstairs to stalk my place in the line. I struck up a conversation with others waiting in line. Everyone was a local or CM but me it seemed. I was in the know! When I finally got back up to the front of the line to check my place we were next! So I text them to settle the bill and come on down. We got into Trader Sam's just before 7pm.
We got a pretty good spot along the wall and the four of us ordered our special Fog Cutter.
No clue what was in this drink or what fruit that eyeball was made out of. The fruit was good, but the drink was strong and kinda gross, but who cares, we got a glass! They were $30 each. Yikes! Totally worth it though.
Isn't it awesome?! I was THRILLED! Seriously thrilled. And so was Rob. He didn't even know about this thing before 4:30 that day, but I got him caught up in the excitement.
The only bummer here was that we had been talking this place up to my SIL and no one, I mean no one, was ordering anything but Fog Cutters and then cutting out. So, since there were no specialty drinks being ordered but this there were no extra theatrics. Naturally, Rob had to ensure she got the full experience, so he ordered a Hippopoto-Mai-Tai and she ordered sushi and a Krakatoa. We provided the only theatrics in there!
