Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Are you on the inn side or the villa side? We will be on the villa side in 10 days and wonder if we will have to deal with construction.

Villa side. There's a construction zone on the right end of the Screen Door. You can only enter through the left doors where the grocery area is.

As an aside, the CM checking us in made a point to say that I booked a standard room and that those are only of the parking lot and that if I wanted a garden or Epcot view, I'd have to pay significantly more. Not true, I pointed out. On the Inn side, the only view categories are Water/Boardwalk or Standard, which includes garden. When I kindly mentioned that, she checked some paperwork and said, "Oh."

I have had that same discussion with the BWI CMs. I really don't want a BW view, but the only other choice for BWI is Standard view. If they'd offer a garden view, I would book that category because that is what I want. I've lucked out sometimes and other times get the parking lot view. I just wish that the CMs knew what they were talking about when they make their authoritative statements.

Glad you had a good trip and generally enjoyed BWI. We are headed there a week from tomorrow! Can't wait.

In the airport now hearing back. Booooo. Good trip, as always. Sorry I didn't get to meet any of the Disboarders there now! Enjoy the rest of your trips!

I mentioned it before, they asked us to downgrade from our BW view to a Village Green partial BW view for a decent credit. We were in room 3051, which is a fantastic room for a Preferred View. The balcony was HUGE, at least 12' by 12'. The tree does block a lot of the BW view, but it was nice for something different, especially for the holidays to have the view of the big Xmas tree.

We did try Ample Hills one night after Fantasmic. (Side note, we hadn't seen Fantasmic in about 10 years... and it maybe be another 10 before we see it again. :) ). Anywho, AH was good, but not amazing. It's about $1 more than the Edy's Ice cream over at Beaches and Cream, so thinking of it that way, yes, it is a dollar better than Edy's. But just thinking $7 for a large compared to what you pay for at home? Not worth it. But at Disney, you pay Dis prices, so it was fine. The oatmeal was our favorite flavor, maybe the peanut butter and Seashells (orange-cicle type) tied for second.

On the dining side, we are at Trattoria del Forno on our last night, and it was actually our favorite meal of the trip. YS wasn't quite as good as always, and for literally half the price of FF, Tratorria was just "simple" food done very well. I think it was our fourth time there, and maybe the best. It's good for a restaurant to actually get better as it matures!

We ate at Trattorie al Forno last week on December 2nd for dinner and it was one of my two favorite meals. I had the Pasta Alla Carbonara and it was fantastic. It was tied with the Boathouse at DS for my favorite meal. At the Boathouse I had the Shrimp and Grits.

We still haven't tried the Boathouse yet. We still have a lot of Disney Springs places to try. Even the new Homecoming place is getting great reviews.

Just completed our first deluxe stay (only 1 night on end of our trip) last night at the BWI. It was great! The room was very nice. I requested a 5th floor room, king bed, and EPCOT view and was granted my request, even with a standard view reservation. It was SO NICE being able to watch some of the EPCOT fireworks last night from our balcony. We also ate breakfast at Trattoria (candlelight package) and really enjoyed the food.

I forgot to mention that the construction zone that was outside the Screen Door, has been gone since Saturday. Walking back from Hollywood Studios last night, I did notice scaffolding by the quiet pool.

Odd thing just happened. There was a knock at our door. I have the Do Not Disturb sign out. It was housekeeping asking what time we were leaving the room. Now I know it's the busy season and they want to turn over rooms quickly, but am I being too sensitive thinking I have until 11:00 and the DND sign should be respected?

They have done that to us in the past too. Ridiculous when you have the DND sign on the door.

It sounds like you had a great stay! Can't wait to get there!!

What items were you able to choose on the menu with the breakfast CP package? I know with lunch and dinner packages it is appetizer, entree and dessert but I am curious how it works with breakfast at Trattoria

I lied. No sooner than I posted that, week I saw three guys outside my balcony on a cherry picker. They must have stopped for the weekend.

Does anyone know where specifically the 2BR Suites at the BWI (not the Villas) are located? I cannot pull it up as a booking category on the website but I know some exist. Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks.
