What was your source? I know in the past, you could use snack credits for items at the global marketplaces.

I saw a passing mention of it in a dining board thread. To be honest, I cannot remember where. The poster said something to the effect that he didn't think there was as much value to using DDP for food and wine since they changed how snack credits were handled.

Typically the Swan/Dolphin classic is scheduled for the last weekend in October. The dates and menus for 2016 were announced on February 9, 2016.

Thanks for the response...thought i remembered dates in the teens for previous classics???...the end of month definitely works better for us....!

For 2014, 2015, and 2016, the Swan/Dolphin classic has been scheduled for the last Friday and Saturday of October. Prior to 2014, I'm not sure of the dates.

In earlier years they were held around Columbus Day weekend IIRC.

I thought they changed to the last weekend in October to coincide with the Swan/Dolphin Anniversary?

Swan and Dolphin classic is on October 27 and 28. I am sad about not being there for it.

Since they're pulling the dessert out of the quick service credit next year, the theory is that a QS credit will only be worth two snack items instead of three.

Frankly, there were only three items throughout Food & Wine that were a "good" trade for a QS credit, so I never would have used one for that purpose, anyway.

Could be the reason--I just know that we have been there in years prior to 2014(?) it was early in October because we were there when it was happening. Another couple we met while there had a relative who booked their stay and she worked for The Dolphin and indicated that they held their version of F&W around scheduled convention events.

Sounds like a great plan! Since I missed this year's festival, I'm planning for an eight to nine day trip for 2017 during the 3rd and 4th week of October.

I'll go sometime in Sept. my AP expires Sept. 23rd unless by some miracle they go ahead and add the extra month. I am going to be there the week before Christmas and will "activate" my renewal then so I'm hoping that counts. I renewed it a week before they announce the 13 month thing. If they stretch it to Oct. I'll probably go in the first week or two of Oct.

We've missed F&W for the last couple of years. We are planning a stay in mid-Oct 2017 and are really looking forward to it!

We were there for the Food and Wine fest in 2015.

We are going again with our 6 year old grand daughter in February.

But at Food and Wine fest dont miss Le Cellier in Canada and they had this great kiosk in Italy with huge margaritas
