Anyone attending Mickey's Merry Christmas Party or the Candlelight Processional, How are you planning to dress? Should I plan to get "dressed up" or just stay in regular park clothes?

We are attending MVMCP and will be wearing leggings/jeans with Christmas tshirts. It sounds like some people wear fun Christmassy things and other people just wear normal park clothes so I think either is fine.

I have a 'this girl loves Christmas' t-shirt, a ton of Christmas themed jewelry, Christmas tree sunglasses, and a green sequined elf hat for my MVMCP night :rotfl:

Not sure yet what I'm wearing on my Epcot day, maybe my 'this girl runs on coffee and pixie dust shirt', lol, but I'll def have some more Christmas themed jewelry on

A lot of people wear fun Christmas tshirts (myself included), some also wear matching Christmas pajamas, and other people wear regular park clothes. Totally up to you. :)

We will be in WDW one week from today. :cool1: We are really looking forward to this trip. Unfortunately, both of us have a full week of work ahead of us. :faint:

We want to start packing but it is hard to know exactly what to pack this time of year. Normal temps for this time of year have highs in the low 70's, and that is what we experienced in 2013. Any long range forecasts of over 5 days only show the normal temps, so you can't go by that. Last week had Orlando in a cold snap with highs in the 60's. This week has some highs in the 80's. So what do we do now?

One thing is for sure, with all of our many winter trips, and most of them have been in January, the nights usually get chilly. So we know we will need long pants and some sort of jacket. Since we are coming from Chicago we will have some warm jackets with us. I'm thinking that we will just stuff our jackets into our suitcase when we get to the airport and before we check our bags. Then we will have them in case it gets cold during our trip. Laying is good and a lightweight jacket that cuts the wind is great. Something with a hood is nice, too. I have a very nice fleece jacket and one of those lightweight rain jackets that provide a lot of warmth when worn at the same time. And they don't have a lot of bulk. And I always take gloves since my hands get cold when the temps are in the fifties. I want to bring the bigger suitcase so we can stuff the coats in it on our way to Disney and Christmas presents in it on our return trip. ;)

We'll make sure our carry on has the clothes and supplies we will need for our arrival day. Since a lot of the Pop Warner teams will be arriving on the same day that we arrive, I don't expect to get our checked luggage too soon.

There is lot of new stuff at Epcot this trip. I read that they have a passbook at the entrances of Epcot that list all of the food booths and special shows. My husband wants to get the special peppermint ice cream dessert, so we need to be on the lookout for that. Epcot was crowded when we were there in Dec 2013, so I'm expected it to be crowded this year, too.

I saw it today too and I think it would be OK. The main thing is violence. But the violence in this movie was much more mellow compared to the HP movies #4-8 IMO. If he has only seen Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, this movie is a bit more dark than that one. This shouldn't be a spoiler to the movie, but there is a dark plot line of an adoptive mother/creepy lady who whips a teenage boy with a belt, but you never see it. It is only implied and referred to.
appreciate the heads up--I think my boy can handle that. Can't wait to see it!

Ok, I'm 99% sure I'm going to be dropping my CP dining package reservation. It's for 2 people (I hadn't gotten around to changing the ressie to 1 yet) at Teppan Edo at 5pm on 12/7 for the 8:15pm performance. If someone is interested I'm def willing to coordinate a drop and pickup.

As the trip is going to be just me I really prefer the idea of being totally flexible, and picking whichever show time ends up working out for where I am. I also just really really want to try all the awesome snacks around WS and a big sit down dinner would totally interfere with that! :rotfl:

Making progress on the vacation front.
Thursday I went to JC Penney and bought another suitcase. It was a great deal at only $40! I also got a really cute Minnie Mouse winter hat, which I might need at nighttime in the parks.
I also found a Star Wars shirt at Kohls, and finished my Mickey Mouse wreath.
I also decided on Biergarten for our CP lunch (instead of GG.) I know DH is really into shows and even though the food doesn't appeal to me, I know he'll love the theming. Luckily I was able to find a 12:00 for the 5pm CP show.
Now I've also decided to try to surprise DH and get a Coral Reef lunch for our last day. Right now we have a Le Cellier lunch, but he has been obsessed with going to Coral Reef. I didn't want to go because of the so-so reviews, but I know he'll be thrilled. Now I just have to stalk and find an ADR. LOL

Other than that, I'm cleaning up my Touring Plans (still undecided on our AK day), but have MK, and US/IOA done.

Awesome! So productive! I've just packed most of our stuff and I have 2 full suitcases! I might end up having to buy a new suitcase there if I buy too much souvenirs! LOL!

Such a sweet wife! I'm sure your DH would be over the moon! I'm actually debating with myself if I should cancel my garden grill reservation too. Thinking about snacking around Epcot instead.

How's your USO/ IOA plan? I tried putting down a route but I seem all over the place.

The Biergarten has good pretzels rolls. It is a fun experience and not something you can normally find in a local restaurant at home.

Coral Reef is a tough ADR to get. I hope you find one. :) Your DH will love it. :)

We brought the suitcases up from the basement and I've started gathering the stuff I want to bring to Disney.

We had nice weather today, about 48 degrees, so I was able to put up the outdoor Christmas lights without freezing to death. I'll probably be taking them down in cold weather, though. I've also finished decorating the inside of the house.

As far as Christmas shopping I have a great big zero. We're going to buy a few of them in Disney and the rest we'll get - eventually. Everyone is pretty much grown up and not needing anything, except the kids. So we place a ten dollar limit for adults and normal presents for kids, which makes it nice. You can buy a lot of things for ten dollars, or less. ::yes::

Thankfully Southwest allows 2 free checked bags each...we will use at least 3 suitcases because of all of our junk! Tomorrow DH is forcing me to start putting things IN the actual suitcases. My guest room looks like a bomb went off because there's crap everywhere! :rolleyes1

I'm pretty happy with my US/IOA plan right now. Our planned day was changed to a 2 out of 10 crowd level by TP, so REALLY hopeful it stays that way.
Right now it's got us starting in IOA first, going to Spider-Man, Ripsaw Falls, Reign of Kong, JP River Adventure, then into Hogsmeade where we'll get Butterbeer, shop, then at 11 we're going to Seuss Landing to watch the Grinch show. Then back to Hogsmeade to maybe eat at the Three Broomsticks, then take the train to US; should get there around 12:30. Basically it has us doing everything we want to do there and done by 4:30. I think the Christmas parade is at 5:00, and the parks close at 7. I would be okay with that...we'll see how it goes though. I didn't purchase Express Pass, but I read that you can purchase it in the park if you get there and it's packed.

Thanks! I'm kicking myself for not grabbing a Coral Reef package a couple of weeks ago when they still had some available!
DH put the outside lights up today too, and we got the tree up. Decorating it tomorrow :)

Good luck getting cr. Went there years ago with DH...we actually really liked it. But, we love a themed restaurant that we'd never experience at home. Taking DD for the first time this trip. Hope you get in.
