Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Got text around 9 am that our room wasn't ready. We left Kidani and arrived a little after 930. Room still want ready but we got text at 1035 that it was. View is spectacular during the day. I can't wait to see it tonight.

Took walk from room at BCV and took path along BC to the foot of the Epcot Bridge and it took 3 minutes or so. It is the open gate right at the foot of the bridge.

Well I guess I will keep my reservation here for a few nights during the first week of February. It will be a very short trip, and the location will be of some help. Got a standard view room booked with a certain TA, with a oh so fab rate. Now, I may have asked this before, but I can remember, so I apologize, but there are standard rooms on all floors but the first, right?

Yes

I apologize if this information is somewhere in the thread but my search didn't find what I needed to know!

We are currently booked at POR with the DDP next year but we are seriously considering upgrading to Beach Club for the pool. I wanted to find out about breakfast options. At POR we are planning to use 1 of our snack credits towards the yogurt parfait or oatmeal options in order to save some money (plus we don't need 2 snacks when there is dessert with the TS meal). Is there an option like this available? The menus I have seen did not seem to be as robust as the POR food court and seemed to be just full meals or sticky bun types of food.

Thanks for any assistance!

I forgot to :welcome: you to the thread!!!

I hope the info we have provided regarding the breakfast options has helped you in your decision. I'll try to check out the breakfast options available for snack credits on my upcoming trip if I have the chance (and remember).

Let us know if you switch your reservation to this resort.

::yes::

Looks like I will be making a return visit to YC this November, my TA was able to switch me from POFQ for the first 4 nights of my November trip! I stayed here for 8 nights last December for my first solo trip and loved it; I was hoping to try one of the other EPCOT resorts this time to see what they were like, but for some reason early to mid November is pretty much all booked!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

The fencing-in project around the BC Quiet Pool continues, with crews even working on Sunday.

Thanks for the pictures!

I'll add a link to this post to the Page 1 notification about the quiet pool fencing work.

:thumbsup2

As kimmy85 posted, it's about a five minute walk to/from BCV, as well as BC, over to/from the temporary bus stop. From the BC, exit at the doors next to the Marketplace, where there is outdoor seating. Take the pathway and enter BCV, follow and exit at the pool, then continue along right side of pool, which leads to parking area and temporary bus stop.

The temporary stop has a long canopy for waiting under cover, as well as 10-12 benches. They could really use some fans, however, as the heat gets trapped. I did not see any CMs there, when I used the buses, during the afternoon. Upon return, don't follow the placards set up directing you to BC - just reverse route and walk through BCV, over to BC.

A shuttle was seen in the morning in front of the BC, for a quick ride over to temp bus stop.

Thanks for this description of the route and the pictures as well. I'll post these pictures when I have a chance.

So are there signs directing guests to use the route you have above?

::yes::

A couple questions from our recent YC stay:
Anyone else walking from YC/BC to Epcot use the walkway that goes under the bridge (which goes to the BW) instead of stsying on the main walkway that connects to the bridge?

This route is recommended if you are pushing a stroller or wheelchair since it is flatter terrain. I was directed to use this walkway in January during the Marathon since runners were on the "regular" path.

:cheer2:

Hi! Happily looking through this thread. Our family is considering a split stay late August 2017 with 5 nights at Contemporary and 5 nights at Yacht Club. :-)

:welcome:

Glad you are enjoying your reading.

Please let us know if you do end up with a stay here.

We currently have reservations for the Beach Club in January. Was hoping for 25% discount but it's only 10%.
Thinking of staying at the Yacht Club instead since it's a 25% discount. What kind of construction will be going on ?
Don't like to see or hear construction when on vacation at Disney.

The signage for directing guests from the temporary bus stop to the BC points in the direction of following the parking lot road along the outside of the BCV and BC. I did not see any placards directing anyone to the route I posted (and which was suggested to me by a BC Concierge).
:confused3

I'm sure they want to discourage foot traffic of those not staying at BCV, but walking through it.

I really can't wait to see the refurb. Can't say we'll keep booking club level tho. Just not worth the costs anymore. I like doing my own ADRs, no need to check in at the desk anymore, there are no special toiletries for club level, we don't drink & DH doesn't like most of the appetizers. Boy, doesn't sound like we had a good trip, but we did. We still love YC & will just book waterview. I just hope management gets on top of these things before they get worse.

I hope everyone down there now has a great time!!!

They don't have any special toiletries anymore? :( Is it the H2O grapefruit scent? We were there in December and they had the H20 Sea Salt scents, which included an after sun gel and peppermint foot lotion. I'll be so sad if they don't have them for my trip.

It was the grapefruit scent. No sun gel or foot cream. Just body wash, shampoo, conditioner & body lotion. That was in a waterview club level room. We stayed at the Grand Floridian club level for a few nights before Yacht Club & we did get the foot cream there. No solar gel there either tho.

Probably the fastest route is through the BCV pool area. It seems to be the most direct route.

OH MY! I'm so hyped! DH scored a discount on YC garden view room for our dates of stay... so now we are switching from BC to YC!!! I just spent the last hour pouring over pics and info for YC with my 12 year old daughter. The girls are pretty excited since we still will be able to use SAB and share BC amenities.

Same just happened this morning. My TA called to check on something for me and they offered her a Manager's Special. We saved $800 but had to go from BC Garden View to YC Garden View. I prefer BC, but who can't use an extra $800 somewhere else on vacation? Besides, our kids are 2 & 4. They won't know the difference in room decor.

Go to H2O dot com and order. Been ordering my daughters conditioner from there for years. They give awesome discount if you are on their email list

Has anyone used BC shampoo/conditioner on highlighted hair? Wondering if I need to bring my own products. Hoping not! Trying to pack light!

Have you checked out their site recently? They have changed all of their products and no longer have any of the Disney Resort products available for order. Your only option is ordering whatever is available at Disney Store online.

Deciding on staying at beach club first time but not until next sept. One question before I make up my mind... I am an early riser and I like to go fill up my mug with soda first thing in the morning. This usually is not a problem at other resorts but from what I read it seems the market place doesn't open until 7 am. Is this accurate or is there any other fill stations that open before 7 am?

Thank you!

How early?

Currently, the Ale & Compass lounge in the YC lobby is open at 6 am with coffee and breakfast items. I have heard conflicting reports about whether they will fill your mug with soda in the morning- I think the answer is yes. The walk from the BC lobby to YC lobby is 5 minutes each way.

Can some of you share your experiences with soft drink refill at A&C in the morning?

Also, there is some talk that the Ale & Compass will be expanded soon (not sure when) to include a quick service spot. No idea if this will be done, or even started, by September.

:goodvibes

I wish they would at least open the drink station at the Marketplace at 6:30am. We are early risers in Disney, and we were up and waiting each morning and they opened at 7am on the dot. Luckily our rooms were in the hallway right by the Marketplace, so it was quick walk. Not sure about the other spots at the YC.
