A Pink Pixie Princess - Complete!

LAUREN! LAUREN!!

LAUREN!

Ahahaha. Sorry.

The gym shoes at work crackdown happened for us about a month ago. I didn't wear mine very often but I did on casual fridays because I have gray sketchers that aren't very sneakery. But my boss laid down the law. I'm glad we were ok wearing them back when I commuted by train as I'd often "forget" to take them off and put on my heels/dress shoes. Now I'm in squishy bottomed flats that are seriously not cute...but comfy. I suggest going on a squishy bottom hunt (ok, that sounds weird) instead of flat shoes...cause I know the pain of dang flat shoes. I'm a target shopper and their shoes are the worst for cushion.

I don't think I would have done very well with 10k on a humid day like that. I barely survived a 5k in those conditions. So big ups to you. Although the heat rash and chafing sound kind of not great.
I understand the internal struggle race morning of trying not to push too hard & also wanting to beat a certain time. It's rough to treat each race separately when you know what you have been capable of in the past, etc.
Oh and I will sneak peaks now and again on blind miles during races just to make sure I'm not waaaaaaay off pace. I can't help myself. But I try (not always succeed, but try) not to make it freak me out.

the guy who was screaming...UGH. I actually liked when I heard that an official triathlon rule is if you have unsportsmanlike conduct before, during, or after a race...they pull your bib and you are automatically DQ'd or DNF'd. I support that. No adult needs to be yelled at. No reason you can't just nicely say "excuse me but there is only one line." And then stew about it internally but not create a toxic situation.

I do really like your idea about doing a playlist with increasing intensity of music. I may try that for a training run to see if I like it.

And one last thought.....the Olympics are are making me sooooooooo tired. But come next year I'll be missing their existence. though I did miss the beam final due to Bachelor in Paradice viewing last night, so I'm officially a bad American.

Congratulations on your 10k! You put in the time and training, and ran your best-- that's awesome!! That guy that screamed at those girls is crazy! I mean line cutters really bug me, but I would never lose it like that! I fear for his friends and family >:(

Congrats on Mr. A finishing his summer classes! He gets a week or two relax before the school year starts now? Oh, and that's fun you got his flights for Wine and Dine!

And I'm so sorry you got sick!! That is the worst feeling in the world. Have you totally lost your taste for that kind of salad now??

And yes, I am feeling the Olympic sleep deprivation. One advantage we have in Utah though is primetime TV starts at 7 instead of 8. That means it usually ends at 11:00. However, I'm a baby and need to be asleep by 10:30 to feel the best (I am a light sleeper and wake up multiple times a night). I'm OK with the primetime commentators for the most part. Although I do agree Nastia hasn't been able to contribute too much during gymnastics. I really like her though! I'm happy with the heavy track coverage that has replaced the swimming too. I was getting a bit burned out on swimming.

Hope your having a great week getting back to yoga too! :)

Great job on your 10k!
Thanks! :)
I expect my shin issues will likely continue to come and go, but I think I'm getting to a point where I'm managing them fairly well. We're going to be doing Tink in 2017 and this weekend I ran a 10k with my mom and fiance and my dad brought up starting to plan for Light Side & Dark Side in 2018!
Hmm, do you think you need new shoes? I personally never have shin issues until my shoes are shot!

That's awesome that your dad is already planning a future race weekend! They are so addicting!
This weekend was nasty weather wise for us too (I'm in Michigan, so a fellow midwesterner) race day brought low 80s with 99% humidity:scared: and was my first ever 10k. I've been officially running for 3 weeks, so I wasn't quite ready, but ended up with 1:12:32. I've submitted for my POT for Princess, but am hoping to drop it a bit in my second 10k in September (and hopefully more manageable temps - it was so hard to breathe in that heavy air!) Well done on your 10k time - the heat and humidity definitely has an major affect on output + still dealing with injury and sickness. Nothing to hang your head about at all!!!
Great job on your first 10K, especially in super tough conditions! That is awesome!

I know I should be proud of my effort on Saturday. It's just so hard to not compare my current self to my past (faster) self! My time on Saturday was 2:00/mile slower than my 10K PR...that's just insane to me!
I bit the bullet and ordered my Beauty and the Beast Dooneys this morning - crossbody and wristlet headed my way ... fingers crossed for decent placement!
Eek!! Good luck!
LAUREN! LAUREN!!

LAUREN!

Ahahaha. Sorry.

Oh, wait. Were you talking to me?! :upsidedow
I suggest going on a squishy bottom hunt (ok, that sounds weird) instead of flat shoes...cause I know the pain of dang flat shoes. I'm a target shopper and their shoes are the worst for cushion.
I'm not gonna lie...I'm wearing my black Brooks right now. If someone says something to me, first of all, I'll be like, "...surely you must have more important things to worry about than my shoes?!" And then I'll get a note from Dr. Spine or something. I AM working my way up to wearing my boots to work every day again, and I do have spare shoes in my desk in case I need a fancier pair for a meeting or something...but I'm not about to make myself wear my uncomfortable flat shoes again and suffer all day like I did last week (okay, "suffer" is a strong work, but it sucked).

I have some TOMS ballet flats that have squishy bottoms, so if I start to feel weird about my Brooks maybe I'll switch to those. :confused3
I don't think I would have done very well with 10k on a humid day like that. I barely survived a 5k in those conditions. So big ups to you. Although the heat rash and chafing sound kind of not great.
Thanks! I feel SO bad for people who signed up for the half...that would have been like a death march for me.
I understand the internal struggle race morning of trying not to push too hard & also wanting to beat a certain time. It's rough to treat each race separately when you know what you have been capable of in the past, etc.
Yeah, as I have mentioned MANY times, that is something I have been struggling with this year. I think I'm getting better about it, but I'm such a numbers person that it's hard to be completely happy when I'm not seeing the times go down.
Oh and I will sneak peaks now and again on blind miles during races just to make sure I'm not waaaaaaay off pace. I can't help myself. But I try (not always succeed, but try) not to make it freak me out.
I know what you mean! It's hard to not take juuuuust a little peek.
the guy who was screaming...UGH.
That is a great rule! I have honestly never been so uncomfortable at a race as I was after that! Really it was the most uncomfortable situation I have encountered in quite awhile, period. What a psycho!
I do really like your idea about doing a playlist with increasing intensity of music. I may try that for a training run to see if I like it.
I did, but I forgot that my last song (Soarin' Area Music Loop or something similar for Disney's California Adventure) starts off fast - like with this sort of intense, motivating trumpet/drum music - and then sloooows down. :rotfl2: I was really only thinking about the beginning of the song, so then the pace of the music got so much more relaxing toward the end of the race and I was just like :cloud9: I love that music loop but the slower portions didn't exactly encourage me to pick up the pace during the last mile! I'll need to pick a better song for next time.
And one last thought.....the Olympics are are making me sooooooooo tired. But come next year I'll be missing their existence. though I did miss the beam final due to Bachelor in Paradice viewing last night, so I'm officially a bad American.
I got so sad when I went to watch the marathon on Sunday and the announcer was like "welcome to week 2 of the Olympics!" Like...week 2? It's halfway over already (and gymnastics is over after today)?! Waahhhhh.

Did you end up watching the beam final? It was interesting!
Congratulations on your 10k! You put in the time and training, and ran your best-- that's awesome!!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. :)
That guy that screamed at those girls is crazy! I mean line cutters really bug me, but I would never lose it like that! I fear for his friends and family >:(
Yeah, as I think about it more...I do legitimately think that guy was crazy. He had anger issues, that's for sure! :worried:
Congrats on Mr. A finishing his summer classes! He gets a week or two relax before the school year starts now? Oh, and that's fun you got his flights for Wine and Dine!
Just this week, and then he heads back sometime next week! Summer has really flown by! And he's actually been back at school (his school) getting stuff ready for the new school year, so he really hasn't gotten any solid time off yet since his semester ended.
And I'm so sorry you got sick!! That is the worst feeling in the world. Have you totally lost your taste for that kind of salad now??
OH MY GOSH - YES! I totally have. :( In particular the thought of eating avocado and hard-boiled eggs again really is not appealing at all. I can't definitively say that those are what made me sick, but I haven't wanted to eat either one since! Blech.
Oh, that definitely helps! We are on eastern time so it starts at 8PM (7PM on weekends sometimes).

Good for you on consistently having a decent bedtime. I need to work on that!
I'm OK with the primetime commentators for the most part. Although I do agree Nastia hasn't been able to contribute too much during gymnastics. I really like her though!
I like her a lot too - really liked her in 2008 and on Dancing with the Stars! I feel like she doesn't have much to say beyond "that's such a difficult skill!" or "being here at the Olympics is a dream come true for these athletes!" I even feel like Al Trautwig will sort of ask her questions to engage her more/have her talk more and she'll say a short little sentence and that's it. :confused3
I'm happy with the heavy track coverage that has replaced the swimming too. I was getting a bit burned out on swimming.
Me too! I have been enjoying the tack more than I expected. :)
Hope your having a great week getting back to yoga too! :)
Thanks!! I'm signed up for 3 classes, so I feel like with the way I've been doing lately getting to at least 1 will be a triumph. :) Have a great week!!!

Ack, it's race week! Still not sure how I feel about this one. Mostly I am annoyed that I have to go to packet pick-up on Friday. It's 45 minutes away, and there's no race-day pick-up (normally I hate picking up the day of, but I totally would have done it this time). So I'll need to drive 45 minutes there, pick up, 45 minutes home, and then do it all again on Saturday, except run a 10K in between. Sigh. If they'd offered an option at registration to have materials mailed for an extra $10-$15 or something, I 100% would have done it. This all seemed like a good idea a few months ago! ;)

I have to say (and this is pretty much me making stuff up because I've done all of 4 races in my adult life, 3 of which were Disney), I think packet pickup is my least favorite part of a race. I'd rather have stuff in advance that have to deal with it day of, but I really hate having to go somewhere out of my way to get a bib and t-shirt. So I get your annoyance.

Oh, and also...the Olympics is TOTALLY screwing up my sleep schedule already. I forgot how frustrating it is to watch things in prime time. Like - here's the first two rotations of gymnastics. Now here's 2 hours of swimming (OMG. SOOOO much swimming. I know Michael Phelps is the GOAT, but COME ON). Now here's the last 2 rotations of gymnastics...AT MIDNIGHT. Not cool NBC, not cool. Also, 4 years later, the diving commentators still get on my nerves.

I miss the Beijing Olympics, where the gymnastics was on live because it was going on in China during US primetime. That's really all I want to watch anyway (#sorrynotsorry). I hate this "broadcasting gymnastics when we're not showing anything live" situation.

Love these outfits!! So cute (the outfits and you guys)!

WINE & DINE UPDATE: I FINALLY booked Mr. A's flight today! It's still more than I wanted to pay, but our 50,000 bonus points from opening a Southwest credit card showed up in my account, so I went ahead and booked the flight on points. I'm still planning on checking the flight daily to see if the price drops, but at least this way he has a seat.

Yay! It must be such a relief to finally have that taken care of.

So, I had an issue pop up today...we got an email at work reminding people to adhere to the dress code, and there were certain sections highlighted. One of them mentioned proper shoes to wear into work, and I can't remember exactly how it was worded (I'm typing this out today, Sunday), but it made me think that maybe my wearing my Brooks to work a couple of days per week is frowned on. I'm still working on getting my boots back into rotation every day (this week I'm wearing them on Monday/Wednesday, where the last two weeks it was Monday/Thursday - so 1 less day "off" in between), and I'd rather not get into trouble for something so stupid as violating the dress code, so I dug out these nicer flat shoes and work them to work today. MISTAKE. They were eating my heels almost instantly, and now I have a blister. Great. Just want I need before my race!

Blisters are seriously the worst. I have one pair of flats that I can't wear anymore because the second I put them on, I get a blister. I hope your blister is all healed up by now!

In better news - Mr. A is DONE with his classes!!!!! :cheer2::cool1::dancer::worship::yay::banana: Just one more summer to go and he'll have his masters!

Yay! Congrats, Mr. A!!

Also, we had some visitors in the backyard. There's a second doe out out of the picture. They hung out in our yard all day! You know there's just deer poo everywhere...sigh.

I know deer are cute and all that, but ... I'm very glad that there are no deer near me. They cause too much trouble hanging out in people's yards.

I got into a porta-potty line and met @Krynn in line! I was NOT expecting to have a DISmeet before this race, but it was very cool! Thanks for saying hi!

That is awesome! I love random unexpected DIS meets!

I crossed the finish line at just a minute over my time in May...today just wasn't my day, I guess. I know I said I wasn't going to report my times here anymore, but honestly...I did the best I could, so here it is:
Total time: 1:09:57
Pace: 11:16/mile

Great job going out there and getting it done!
It's definitely rough that you didn't have the race you were hoping for, but considering the conditions ... I think this is pretty good! Extreme conditions (in either direction) are not fun to deal with, and it's definitely hard to admit that the weather may have gotten the best of you, and all that really matters is that you put in a good effort. Keep working hard, and things will improve - just remember that sometimes there are factors outside your control, and every race will not be your best race.

I hereby vow to hit the yoga hard next week!

Yes! Hit the yoga hard this week - I know you can do it!

I don't like Al Trautwig AT ALL, he's like the cheesy cliche guy of the group and says some pretty questionable stuff every once in awhile

Al Trautwig does the pre-game, post-game, and intermission coverage for my favorite hockey team. Every time I hear him doing the gymnastics stuff, I want to yell "shut up and talk about hockey!"
He is an idiot sometimes, though.

Thanks! :)

Hmm, do you think you need new shoes? I personally never have shin issues until my shoes are shot!

No, the shoes still have well under 100 miles on them. I ran in high school with chronic shin splits, ran in college until I had 2 bouts of stress fractures, and I'm a Scottish Highland dancer, which is a very athletic dance form where we're jumping on the ball of our foot throughout the duration of a dance (dance is harder on my shins than running ever was) - and my shin issues had flared up a few months ago before I even started running again. It's just a part of athletic life for me - I don't know if they'll ever fully heal/go away - but I've been managing them better this year. (hello extra strength compression sleeves!)

Totally agree with you - I even dislike packet pick-up at Disney! Really, especially at Disney since it takes soooo long. If I don't like it at Disney, I won't like it anywhere!!
I miss the Beijing Olympics, where the gymnastics was on live because it was going on in China during US primetime. That's really all I want to watch anyway (#sorrynotsorry). I hate this "broadcasting gymnastics when we're not showing anything live" situation.
Hey, I'm with you! I tried to get myself to watch track, and I really only got into a couple of events - otherwise, once the gymnastics was done, my interest in the Olympics went WAY down.
Love these outfits!! So cute (the outfits and you guys)!
Thanks!! :goodvibes
Yay! It must be such a relief to finally have that taken care of.
Totally! I am such an over-planner, to me this feel like booking at last minute. :P
Blisters are seriously the worst. I have one pair of flats that I can't wear anymore because the second I put them on, I get a blister. I hope your blister is all healed up by now!
It is, thankfully! Unfortunately I have a couple of new ones from yesterday!
Yay! Congrats, Mr. A!!
:yay:
I know deer are cute and all that, but ... I'm very glad that there are no deer near me. They cause too much trouble hanging out in people's yards.
They do eat our plants. The more annoying thing is that they poop so much, because my dog LOVES to eat the deer poop! :crazy2: And they make driving interesting around here, because they are fearless - cars do not scare them.
That is awesome! I love random unexpected DIS meets!
Yeah, that was the last thing I expected to happen that morning! :)
Great job going out there and getting it done!

Ah, thanks. I think I forget every year how much the hot weather can change things.

You are very wise, Sarah. ::yes::
Yes! Hit the yoga hard this week - I know you can do it!
I went twice! Woohoo!!
Al Trautwig does the pre-game, post-game, and intermission coverage for my favorite hockey team. Every time I hear him doing the gymnastics stuff, I want to yell "shut up and talk about hockey!"
He is an idiot sometimes, though.
Hahaha!! That must be weird to hear him talking about a different sport!

Ouch!! I hope that the compression sleeves continue to help! :)

It was fun seeing you too. Glad I got out of there before the yelling started but there were multiple lines formed for each group of potties at first (A volunteer brought a group of us over to them because there was no one in line) then everyone started lining up in the one line that was originally just used for the 3 on the end, so she was in the right maybe? I ran the half, it WAS a death march.

Running Blind - Week 7
Monday, August 15 - Sunday, August 21, 2016

Monday, August 15 (60 minutes @ Effort 1)

Alright! Another new week!

I have to say, I feel very relieved to have gotten through that 10K race! Leading up to the weekend I kept hoping something would happen so that I wouldn’t have to do it - either my BFFs would want to go to Disney that weekend (because you KNOW I would have skipped out on that race in a second to go to Disney! ::yes::) instead of next weekend (eeeeeeek) or t-storms would cancel the race - something not injury-related. But now that it’s done, I’m glad I did it - I think it was good for me, even if I’m not 100% thrilled with my time. I’m definitely not as upset about it as I was after my 10K race in May. And I feel almost totally recovered! Heat rash is still there a bit but the chafing is a lot better. Neosporin is gold.

Not gold - today’s run. :( I made the mistake of looking at my watch afterward and MAN did I go slow! I shouldn’t have looked.

Also, I got a late start this morning. I got up earlier than normal, which was good, but I saw that I had an email from American Airlines telling me that they’d changed a flight for Wine & Dine AGAIN. This time it was my return flight, and they pushed it up 2 hours. Unlike a few weeks back when they changed my arrival flight, I’m actually not contesting this one - my original flight was supposed to leave at 7PM and get in at midnight...and then I was planning to run the next morning and go to work. :faint: New flight leaves at 5PM and gets home more like 10. While I am sad to lose 2 hours of Disney time, I think I’ll hate myself less the next day at work if I get home a little earlier. Is this me adulting?!

Other thoughts on this morning’s run...I need to invest in some kind of lighting to wear if I’m going to keep doing these early-morning runs outside. It was DARK today!

Mr. A and I were talking about our Wine & Dine trip last night on our nightly post-dinner dog walk and we sort of laid out a basic plan for the weekend...so excited for that trip! His training is going well - he’s up to a 3.5-mile long run! :)

Tuesday, August 16 (rest)
Ahhhhh. :)

Decided to switch bags - don't worry, they have their trunks on!

Wednesday, August 17 (60-minute run @ Effort 1/Effort 3/Effort 1 pace & yoga)
Weird start to the morning. I use my phone as my alarm clock and at some point yesterday I guess I turned my ringer pretty much all the way down and didn’t hear my alarm this morning! I happened to wake up 6-7 minutes after it went off on my own...whew!

Today was my longest tempo-ish run of this training cycle. It was actually cool outside (68 degrees!!) but I could still feel the humidity. And I could FEEL the extra 10 minutes at Effort level 3 (35 today vs. 25 during my other runs like this). The last 10 minutes of the Effort 3 portion were where I struggled, but overall this run was not bad at all. I was nervous for it, so I’m glad it’s done! I didn’t look at the distance or overall pace, but I have a feeling I didn’t make it much further than I did on Monday (note: I did look later, and I was right - didn't go much further!). Oh well!

Good news - I made it to yoga today! Bad news - it was FAR from my best class. This was another hot power class, and I just could not hang today. I actually left the room at one point because I was starting to feel a little nauseous! I think going forward I’m going to switch back to an "all levels" class on Wednesdays, because 1.) I feel SO WEAK right now, and 2.) I think the timing will work out better. My class today was 6:15-7:15, which had Mr. A and I eating a later dinner at 8PM. The other class is a 7:30-8:30 class, which would have us eating dinner more like 6PM. I think that’ll work out better food-wise and I won’t want to die during class (hopefully).

Thursday, August 18 (rest)
Rest day! Yay. And man do I need it. My back is sore after yoga today...apparently taking 1.5 weeks off from yoga or whatever REALLY makes my back tighten up, or something.

1 WEEK UNTIL DISNEY!!! AHHHHHH!! Related news: I’m thinking I’ll run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week and then that’ll be it for exercise. So no yoga that week (ack, I’ll be right back to square 1 after catching up this week!) and no long run.

Speaking of Disney - Mr. A got some exciting mail today!

Over 4,000 pieces - yikes! Also yikes...where the heck are we going to put this thing when it's done?! :scratchin
29102999846_01bc5452b0_z.jpg

Alarming moment...I am starting to fee a little *something* going on in my throat and chest. Um, please tell me I'm not getting sick right now! Ack!

Friday, August 19 (60-minute run @ Effort 1)
I FINALLY had a decent run today! Monday's and Wednesday's were just not that good - today's just felt easier. We finally had some cooler temperatures, so that helped. This week may as well be called "blind-ish running" since I've looked at the watch after every run - even though today's run was all at my easiest pace, I went almost as far as I did on Wednesday...where that run had over half of it at my Effort 3 pace. Soooo yeah, Wednesday's run was a struggle!

Today I decided that I need to move my Friday yoga class...I've been skipping them or really half-a--ing them when going right after this run, so if it's clearly not working, I need to make a change. I'm thinking Tuesday evenings will be my new class, since I really don't need 2 rest days.

Still feeling a little iffy, but I think better than yesterday (I drank a TON of water over the past couple of days). I'm definitely fighting something off though because I was in bed by 10PM! That's pretty unusual for me on a weekend.

Saturday, August 20 (100 minutes @ Effort 2)
Wooooweee...this one was tough!

I didn't get out as early as I meant to, and I didn't realize that our temperatures were climbing back up today...in fact, I don't think I realized how hot it actually was until, with about 20 minutes left in the run, I saw the info board outside of the high school informing me that it was 88 degrees out!! Yikes! Only 55% humidity, thankfully...but dew point of 68. So yeah, it was toasty!

I used last week's strategy of drinking every 20 minutes and had a salted caramel Honey Stinger waffle. I thought I'd surpassed the distance I went on my last 100-minute run - because I felt pretty good on this one - but it turns out I went about 0.3 miles less. Boo!

So then I got home and was planning on taking a nap...instead I watched the live finals of the 10m platform competition for the Olympics. As the day went on I felt totally wiped and just had a splitting headache...so again, I was in bed by 10PM! Apparently that run took more out of my than I realized.

Sunday, August 21 (yoga)
2 days of yoga! Yay!

Unfortuantely, this wasn't a great class for me. I was definitely still recovering from yesterday's run - my legs and back felt sore and once I entered the studio I was sweating immediately. I think my body was just like, "are you serious, hot temperatures AGAIN?!" I spent a good chunk of this class in child's pose, not gonna lie.

And now Mr. A doesn't seem to be feeling well (I feel better, apparently I needed like 25 hours of sleep this weekend!). Basically we're all like this right now:

Yeah, I'm sure it was all just a misunderstanding. So weird!!

Congrats on finishing the half, I think they would have had to have carted me off the course on a stretcher!

That sucks that they changed your flight. You don't seem to be having incredible luck with flights lately.

Yay for a good run on friday finally. I had a good 7 miler yesterday.

I really want to get the lego set but $350 is what is holding me back at the moment. I am not sure what I want to do. Maybe I can get it as a christmas present.

I didn't realize this existed. My Death Star, Ewok Village, Tower of Orthanc, and MetalBeard's SeaCow may be getting some company in the future.

ETA: Lego problems are real.

I'm with you here. My London Bridge, Big Ben, Technic Porsche could use some company. I could just about make a semi-Main Street USA with that and the other buildings (Green Grocer, et al series).

Aaaaaand now I know what I want Santa to bring me for Xmas! That and one of those monorail toys. And also that jungle cruise bag.

I also feel like I need to find that "bow-down" emoji for your 100 minute run. Even though it wasn't quite the mileage you wanted, I'm still impressed.

And finally, thank you for the sleepy beagle pic. Because...awwwwwwwww!

Totally agree with you - I even dislike packet pick-up at Disney! Really, especially at Disney since it takes soooo long. If I don't like it at Disney, I won't like it anywhere!!

Honestly, most races I've been to have a smoother and faster packet pick-up than Disney. What slows Disney down is two things. One, they have your bib in one building and your shirt in another. Two, the shirts are in the back of the building causing you to deal with the crowds and shoppers in order to get in and out. I understand why they do it this way - more money for them and the vendors - but it is more time consuming than it could be. If they cared about the runners' experience, they'd move the shirts to the same building as the bibs, allowing you to get both very quickly. Once done, the shoppers could shop next door and the rest could leave.

Love the lego set! I've been debating if I want to buy that but I'm trying to be good on splurges after I just spent $350 on front row, center tickets to see Alton Brown: Eat Your Science Tour in April - so my splurge for August is gone (although I'm going to the Mall of America tonight for the first time ever so my poor credit cards might end up with a work out then)

No, I really don't! I guess that's what I get for booking my flights so early. :)

 See, I don't just enable fellow shoppers with ideas for running clothes and purses - now I've moved on to Legos! I am here to help!

That would be awesome.

Our "Main Street" would include a giant Wall-E and the house and Kwik-E Mart from The Simpsons. :)

Yes, I want one of those monorails! That would be so awesome.

Well thanks! :) "100 minutes" does sound like a lot, I guess.

:lovestruc He's a little mischief-marker, but he sure is cute!

I agree. I will say - this IS better than when I went to the 2011 Princess Expo and everything - bibs, shirts and vendors - were in the same building. It was way too crowded, so I was happy when they moved the bibs to a different building, at least.

But you're right that they'll never completely move the shirt pick-up (Dopey is in the bib building, I know - is Goofy? Can't remember). That would leave too much money on the table and we can't have that, now can we?!

Can I just say...I sent Mr. A the link to the castle but somehow didn't see how much it cost. Then I saw the price later and was like "WHAT." :rotfl2: ah well!

OMG ALTON! So cool! I wish they still made episodes of "Good Eats" - love that show!

Since you are a Lego enabler thought I'd show you the big bag purchase I made on Saturday!

This beauty cost me .75 cents at the disneystore because I got up sold at the register (kiddo had to get a princess Elena doll and I'm a softy)

It's my current lean cuisine carrying vessel for work now.

Awww Mr. A looks so cute with his Legos all spread out in front of him - kid at Christmas kind of happiness right there!

Definitely sounds like you had some kind of sickness going on with that much sleep. Hope you are feeling better.

Yay that your Disney trip is coming up so soon. I'm jealous!!!

Congrats on completing another week of training. I'm sorry a couple of the runs didn't go as well as you hoped, but I'm glad you felt like Friday was decent. :)

That Lego Cinderella Castle looks so cool! Please post a picture of it when it's completed!

Also, I remembered that I never referenced the comment you made in last week's update about the diving commentators for the Olympics. They get on my nerves too, especially the lady. I don't doubt that she knows a lot about diving, but her comments a lot of the time just rub me the wrong way.

Have tons of fun on your Disney trip with your friends!!!

This is me with every trip, thinking that the late arrival will be totally fine and then hating my life the next morning at work. Glad AA is forcing you into adulting!

This looks amazing! My dog would eat the pieces. pug:

I didn't get out as early as I meant to, and I didn't realize that our temperatures were climbing back up today...in fact, I don't think I realized how hot it actually was until, with about 20 minutes left in the run, I saw the info board outside of the high school informing me that it was 88 degrees out!! Yikes! Only 55% humidity, thankfully...but dew point of 68. So yeah, it was toasty!

Wow! Big props for making it 100 minutes in that kind of heat!
