Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

Also. A quick question. Are there the bus boards? And does the bus still come an 1 hr before the park opens. DS wants to do the Jedi Academy, and we're going to try it on his actual birthday. Want to make sure we are ready to go.

I cant remember if the buses EVER started an hour before park open. Certainly not for many years. The buses start running to the parks at 6:30 every morning.

Just booked our first stay here for late-September 2017! Long time away but hoping Pandora will be open by then.

Spent a lot of time looking at resorts before settling on POFQ. Just my DH and me and we got a King-bed room. I know the King rooms are always corner rooms, but do they always come with a nice view? Or could it be parking lot?

Sorry if this has been asked before -- its a long thread! :)

Yes there are bus wait-time boards, and they generally start between 6:30 and 7 in the morning (officially they say 7am now, but I believe some can still be earlier).

Yes, all the king bed rooms are on corners at POFQ, but they are scattered all around the resort so the view could be anything from a parking lot to a river view. Time to put in a request I think!

Does anyone know how large the in-room safe is? Would it hold a 13-inch laptop?

I think I'll be staying here again for my September trip! I haven't quite pulled the trigger yet on the switch, but it'll probably happen. I really loved staying here during my January trip! :lovestruc

How crowded is the boat ride to Disney Springs in April (Spring Break season)? I understand the boat picks up Riverside guests and then heads to POFQ. Is the boat already full or is their plenty of room for POFQ guests?

Separate boats run during the evenings. During the daytime (until late afternoon) it's a combined service. They don't allow the boat to fill up completely at Riverside, so as to allow guests at FQ to be able to get on (unless some guests are planning to get off again at FQ).

Thanks for the quick response! Great info!

Just read this article on Yahoo saying Disney has removed all references to alligators and crocodiles since the tragedy last month. Can anyone confirm whether they have removed the band playing alligators from POFQ?

They have not as yet, nor have they dropped the "Alligator Bayou" terminology over at Riverside. However who knows what plans they are still concocting?

Sorry, most likely answered in here somewhere, but what kind of toiletries are supplied? Shampoo, conditioner and body wash, all-in-one? And is it topped up daily or can we ask for more?

And how's the hairdryer (I think this is probably more of a girl question LOL)

I'm just trying to see what I can live without in my luggage

Oh, and where are the plugs located? I'll have a powerstrip to plug in for our chargers, and also will need to charge the ECV overnight

I think it's separate shampoo and conditioner and bar soap that's provided. You can ask for more and they will replace it if they see you have used it- at least that's been our experience.

The hairdryer is actually pretty strong. I bring my own because we drive, and I usually dry may hair in the actual room while one of my guys is getting ready in the bathroom area. If I was flying I wouldn't bring my own.

There are plugs in the bathroom area (DS used this for his phone), on the wall by the bed closest to the bathroom (I used this for my phone but had to remember not to step on it since I don't have a long charging cord) and in between the beds I think (if I remember this is where DH charged his phone). There is also a set of plugs on the wall behind the table and chairs. We used this to plug in the ECV each night. The cord the rental company gave us was long enough to stretch across so DS could park the ECV next to the bed.
