Just read that they stopped providing this service. I have to say I'm pretty pissed as this was very convenient way to stay hydrated. Going next week for 9 days and this is going to put a dent in things. I know I can still wait inline at a CS to get a cup of water but then that just puts more people inline that want to buy food. What is wrong with you Universal!!!!!>:(

I love Universal, but I am really not happy about this. That was one thing that I noticed when we went to SeaWorld on our recent trip. It was the hottest day of the year so far and it was a lot harder to find water than at Universal. I hope they reconsider this.

This is really annoying. It certainly wasn't anything they had to provide, but it was really helpful on a hot day. The cynic in me sees this as a ploy to drive up drink sales. Even if it's not, I'm just going to use the regular water fountains. Have never had any problem with the water from them; it's just not as cold as the stuff from the machines.

I hope they bring it back, I think it's a big mistake.

I'm not going to wait in a long food line to get a small shot of water taking up line space for food paying customers. I'm going to walk right up the the employee at the soda fountain and ask for water.

New products that they're excited about! It's ONE "tap". That's it. And how exciting is soda? Not very exciting. What a rotten decision.

(says the person who doesn't like Orlando water and gets bottled spring water when in Florida)

Yep, all they have to do is create another menu page like the rest of the choices. It's not like they are removing water from the machine, it's the main base of soda!

This doesn't ring true, because freestyle machines only have spots for 36 cartridges. 12 large cartridges and 24 flavour cartridges. So there are only so many options. So taking away the water option is not something that impacts cartridge space.

You know most of the carts will fill up a container for you for free right?
I'm not happy about it either.. but I actually don't usually use the free style machines that much as theres almost always a cart attendant who looks bored that I give something to do :) They're nice and wash out my cup for me too. As long as you have a wide mouth bottle or cup they usually don't mind. Also, of COURSE they'll fill up a USO cup.

All we can do is call GS and let them know (nicely every!) that we're not happy about it and to PLEASE bring it back. "Water brought back by popular demand!" hahaha I can see it now.

Someone could set up a petition to get the ball rolling

Went that route when the Hhn day tour UTH stopped

Took a couple of years of petitions before the tour returned

I don't ever use the freestyle machines or get cups of water but tons do. Get the petition going and I'll sign it.

Blue would be good to see a petition up electronically so signiturers could be submitted

Rest of us can pass the word to the sites that provide write ups for UO info

It can work

With Twitter and f b peeps jump on the bandwagon

I read Twitter but don't write on it forgot my id for it

For what it's worth, in my experience the Freestyle lines are almost always significantly longer than the lines at the food/beverage carts. Though I was aware on my last visit that I could get free water at the Freestyle machines, I never took advantage of it because it was always quicker to go to a cart.

Based on the long lines I saw at the Freestyle machines throughout my last trip to Universal, I can see why the decision was made to send those just wanting water to an alternate location. (Jessica Hale's explanation is bogus, just like most of the things that she posts in that group. I'm really tired of Universal's social media fails, especially in regards to annual passholders... but that's a topic for another post, LOL!) If I'd paid for a Freestyle cup in order to get the customized beverages available in those machines, I'd have been pretty annoyed to watch a bunch of people in line in front of me using the machine to get just plain old water, which they could have gotten in tons of other locations.

Just another point of view. :-)

This is a huge mess over on the UOAP Facebook page. People are getting mean!

We don't drink sugar drinks and we've always had great luck when asking the TMs to fill water bottles. In the last year we've been using the Freestyle machines and they are super convenient. I'm a bit annoyed that they're taking it away but as long as they'll either fill my water bottle at stands or give me a big cup of water I'm okay! If they start doing what Disney does in some locations Anne they give me a small cup of water I'll be annoyed. Then I order 3 cups for each person in my party. That has to be a waste of money on cups!

I see your point and you explained it so well

I was not thinking like you are until I read your post

Gee, I'm on side for each

Someone just mentioned in the facebook group that even those who have paid for the Freestyle cup may not have access to plain water... now THAT puts another spin on it. IMO, those who have paid for the cup should be able to choose water as their option if they want to! I thought this was just to rid the Freestyle line of those who are filling other containers with water... I'm curious to hear the results when someone tries it out with their Freestyle cup....!!
