Is Walt Disney World going to 100% security screenings at the parks?

Disney's policy for visiting LEO's is that they cannot be armed in the parks.

I don't agree with this at all. Why stop a law enforcement officer the right to be armed when he is armed for his normal job? My husband is a law enforcement officer with NYC, we went to many museums in Wash DC and was allowed to carry inside all the museums, he just had to go thru a different entrance in the front and sign some book. IMO, this is a poor decision on Disney's part.

The man who did this was American born and raised. Yes he was of Islamic heritage but he was a US citizen, he was born here, raised here, and taught in American schools.

I'm going to be honest here, I don't get rattled by things often. But the fact he "cased" Disney springs has opened my eyes a little bit about how big of a target WDW really is.

I will admit that I've thought about canceling previous trips because of a terrorism concern, but realized you can't live life like that. I know the Disney is a MAJOR target, but again, I've felt like you can't live life in fear. And when we went in April, as we were standing in line for bag check, I told my DH that if an attack were to happen, it would be out in front of the parks and it worried me.
We have another Disney trip planned for this year. We will still go, but I'm more rattled than I ever was.

It's hard to try to live your life without fear. I went to the Indy 500 a couple of weeks ago with my husband, brother, and brothers girlfriend. 350,000 were there. They said it was the 52nd largest city at that time in the US. If you don't take time with your family you will short change your life. Targets are everywhere not just Disney.

For the last few years I have gotten "alert" at the entry and exit of the parks... I have even talked to my kids (7 and older, younger is too young for me) about how to specifically react in an event at each park. I would never scare them, but I did want to make sure they had "permission" and a plan in case of emergency. I have included malls and stores in the last two years too when we do our "safety" talks when their schools do lock down drills. Besides sad, it is sickening that certain talks have to be had It is though, another reason we love the parks so much... it is a full dose reminder of happiness, love and togetherness.
