Mele Kalikimaka WDW Adventure 2015-COMPLETED

Absolutely am in love with all of your beautiful pictures! I can't wait to read all about your Disneyland adventure. In the meantime I will be lurking on your flickr account. I agree with all the posters here, your pictures show a side of Disney I had never seen and I thought I had seen everything at WDW over and over and over again! And your pictures of the Islands too, I have always wanted to go and plan on going when my kids are older as part of our Asia trip including Hong Kong and Taiwan too (where my husband is from). Now I wish I could go now . . .
Thank you so much for this fantastic trip report it was such a joy to read and brought all those great Disney feelings of wonder back for me!

So glad you enjoyed the report and photos @AMVmom and thank you for the kind comments! Yes, please visit my Flickr account regularly as that is where I'll be posting the majority of my Hawaii and Disney photos. As I told @alohamom, feel free to PM me if you need any information or help when you are visiting the islands!

We just returned from a week stay at WDW and your pictures showed my how much we missed. Next time we go I am going to make sure we stop and smell the roses and take in all the beauty around us! Thank you for sharing!

Do you strictly shoot HDR or do you any "real" photos? Not condemning, just would like to see your photos in original form for comparison

I know exactly what you mean @pixiedustie! I was looking at our group's photos and the others did and saw a lot of things that totally bypassed me. The truth is, the parks are so vast, that we're probably going to miss a ton of stuff even if we stayed there for a whole year...LOL!

Actually @mickman1962 , I didn't do any HDR shooting during the trip (all the photos are single exposure shots). I do tend to over process my images at time, so I think that's what you're referring to by not being real. It's a learning process and I'm trying to find that sweet spot, so forgive some of the clunkers. Since I shoot in raw, I really can't post those original files due to size and the images being unprocessed straight out of the camera.

Amazing Len, I have only ever seen it from far away, this is a great perspective. Do you happen to have any from the Kailua Beach area? LOL, now I am making requests!!!

Aloha fellow DISBoard members! Approximately 2 months before I head out to Disneyland for some fun, picture taking, and overall exhaustion! Please be sure to check in on my new trip report (I'll be staying a couple of nights at the Grand Californian so expect a bevy of pics)!

Your photos are the best I have seen on the boards.

I'm not a big dessert guy, but I was so impressed with the food that I had to give their sweets a try! Sue ordered the Sundae Sampler, while I took a swing at the Chocolate Pudding Cake. We were 1 for 2 as the sampler was out of this world, both in presentation and taste! All three items were great...not too sweet and very unique. My cake wasn't bad, but as a chocolate lover, it didn't do much for me. The meal ended with some coffee and small talk. I took this time to shoot a few photos of the restaurant before heading out to the balcony for the fireworks show.

The weather was perfect for viewing outside. Very clear night, a little chilly, but nothing a windbreaker couldn't handle. I tried taking some shots, but even with a telephoto lens, it was hard to get anything decent. I did take one of Erin and Jesse just so they can say they were there...

Said the same thing re the photos.

I am stuck inside from our 4th day without school due to the blizzard so I have been reading trip reports. I had to comment on your fantastic pictures. I don't think I have seen better photos of Disney anywhere. Can't wait to keep reading/looking at pictures. Thank you for bringing a bit of Disney magic during the dig out!

Very kind of you to say @Dizdutch although there are tons of Disney photographers out there that do a much, much better job! I do enjoy photography and I think that's the main thing (I keep telling myself that at 1:00 in the morning when out shooting)!

After literally stuffing ourselves with bread, we moseyed (not sure if that is a real word) on over to the Jambo Main House. We had stayed here a couple of nights back in 2004, so I was looking forward to seeing it again. Not much has changed...still as breathtakingly beautiful as ever. I told Sue if we ever return, we'll have to stay a couple of nights. This is our 2nd favorite Disney resort after The Wilderness Lodge. Again, the African theming and application of the culture and arts really imbues the resort with a strong sense of heritage and class.

This is hands down the best photo trip report I have read. Your pictures are so beautiful, they almost don't look real. I hope to see another report from you soon!

The Dragon atop Gringotts Bank was the #1 photo I wanted to shoot at night! I had photographed it earlier in the evening handheld, but I knew the ISO would be ridiculously high. I waited until park closing to break out my tripod and proceeded to fire away. I failed to capture the dragon blowing out flames as it overexposed my image. Probably should have shot it with an ND filter, but my being a newbie was a bit overwhelming. On a down note, a security guard came up to me and told me that my type of cameras are not allowed in the park! I told her I'm an amateur and only shooting for my own personal use. She said that didn't matter, but since it was almost closing, she would let it slide. I apologized and moved on, but that pretty much dampened my enthusiasm for trying to photograph any more in that area. Not sure what that was about, but no other security personnel approached me at any other time about my gear. Because the area was nearly empty and I'm using a tripod... it probably made me an easy target.

These photos of Hogsmeade have never made me want to visit Disney and Universal more. Would you consider sharing some of the settings on your camera that you used for these shots?

Thanks for capturing all the different rooms in the restaurant. This place looks unreal and I love all the details you squeezed into the photos!
