Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

They are soooooooo cute!

We live with, no We are slaves of 3 cats. The girl 14 years old, the big guy 4 years old and the son of satan 2 years old (he had an emergency surgery because he hate a toy but he love eating dust, kleenex, hairs, hairs on your head, hair arms ON your arm etc.)

Oh my, as a teen we had a cat we called Sidvicious as a nick name. He would be purring and turn and bite in to you. I finally started grabbing his leg and biting him back. It got better. Interesting eating habits your Satan has.

AND my 67 lb grandfurbaby that has always lived with us ............. ate a rubber chicken. Cost so much to get it out I say she is now pure bred for what she has cost me.

Well since it was too early for margaritas :beach: on the beach .....

I left early to pick up DS and stopped by the Humane Society to pet puppies!

While I hate I can't bring them all home, I hope they feel better after a neck scratch and sweet talk.

For a few minutes I forgot about ....................... the Earffel Tower ... although the one guy had quite the set of ears on him.

My wife is like you and it took Harry Potter to get her off property. We love Harry Potter and if you can, ride Hogwart's Express both ways as its a different ride. Try Butterbeer in as many different ways as you can. If anyone likes coasters, ride The Mummy as its different (involves fire) than your normal coaster. If you don't want to ride Jurassic Park, at least stop and watch the splash it makes. Also, make sure and watch the Raptor Encounter and stay until he leaves if you can as its just a cool thing. Kong looks like it will be amazing depending on how soon you are going. Spider Man is still considered one of the best theme park rides anywhere. Definitely fun things to do but also definitely not Disney.

We are tacking on 2 nights at Universal at the end of our Disney trip. It'll be our first time there. Disney May 24-30. Universal May 30-June 1. We decided to wait until all three kids would be tall enough to ride everything.

While my heart belongs to Disney, I do have to say that after the stress of planning this Disney trip between ROL (now JB) and night time AK activities, possible soft openings for Frozen and the old Soarin' movie, Star Wars fireworks, I am looking forward to no ADRs and Express Passes without deciding anything 180 or 60 days in advance. For Disney, I am still reworking our park days, ADRs and FPs.

Well I am gonna need some stiff ones today...............the week that just won't quit.

While we slept the killed the Earffel Tower.
It's gone.
Overnight.
Gone.
Sad.
I think I might need to go back to bed now.

Wow. We went to DHS on Thursday and I looked at the tower and thought, "I'm so glad it's still here!" I had no idea that'd be its last day. :worried:

just got back! I didn't see anyone with a ROL Lounge pin or shirt, but I know they were out there! several CMs pointed out the pin and either shook their head at me or told me my pin was the best thing they had seen all day, either way I had an amazing trip :)

Most CMs loved my button. I had one CM try to lecture me, though, because "You know Disney can't put on the show until it's just right." :rolleyes2 Yes, I know. Doesn't mean we can't have a little fun with their premature announcement!

Hello Loungers !!! Well, midnight was my 60 day FP booking window --- need your help ---
Was able to get "Soarin" for one Epcot night and "TT" for the other night ( we love it in the dark)

But having a ton of trouble with the Epcot Tier 2 selections !!

Choices are :

1) Sit in the first row of one of the "Living with the Land" boats
2) sit in the cleanest shell available on "Nemo"
3) use the line on the left at Starbucks and get coffee without having to tell them our names

Thoughts? Did I forget any !!??

Any predictions for May? I know May 20th was given as a date for more details. What all are we supposed to find out then? Is that just Jungle Book details?

This is my cat. I'm just waiting for the day she needs surgery for something she ate. She pulls the lint out of the garbage in the laundry room, she ate a 3 foot piece of yard my son left out for a project- just kept swallowing. Her favorite thing to eat... Those loofa poof things that my daughter keeps in the shower. We had to get rid of all of them because she will eat an entire one, then throw up. Luckily, so far she's thrown everything up, but I'm just waiting for the day she doesn't. I can't even cat proof, because she eats such weird things, I can't predict. Oh yeah, she's also bipolar!! She will sit on my lap and purr, then all of a sudden snap and chomp down on your arm with her ears back. She hisses at everyone who walks in my house. But then she's so sweet other times. Crazy cats.....

#3 - if they offer a FP for Starbucks at all- it should be a tier 1!!! That was the longest line we waited in at each park every day in November!!:rotfl:

My first dachshund ate everything. I used to tell people he had a cast iron gut. Fortunately he never had any blockages with what he ate but I did find pieces of plastic in his stools many times. This pair are really good. They won't even chew my shoes or undies

Well, it was unfortunately (minus 2 things and meeting Pooh) kind of a disaster of a trip. I am SO glad we signed DVC papers and don't have to do a value again. We normally do them and have no issues normally but our last trip at AS, there was a cheerleading comp going on and we couldn't get a bus. This time around just sealed it for us. There were millipedes in our room, mosquitos, I had to call security almost every night due to the gaggles of teenagers and/or cheerleaders who wouldn't stop *literally* screaming way past 10, we waited sometimes up to an hour for a bus, etc. Some of the cheerleaders were nice and respectful but most of them were very rude.

In the parks wasn't much better. On Haunted Mansion a group of cheerleaders screamed so loudly the entire trip and took pictures to the point that we couldn't even hear our ghost host or see much of anything because a flash kept going off. I bought an expensive Lady and the Tramp dress for DD and had an ADR for Tony's to take pictures inside and they told us when we got there the gas line was broken so we could go to Crystal Palace instead. It was quite a bit more expensive than we had hoped for that night and it screwed us all up with fast passes because it took so long to seat us. As we were leaving MK that night, all of Tony's was seated! WHY OH WHY couldn't they have asked us to come back later!? They wouldn't even let me in to take a quick picture! Coming back on the buses numerous times teenagers/cheerleaders wouldn't let me or my DH sit down while we held our sleeping 7 month old. I was taught as a young girl to always allow the elderly, pregnant women and parents with little babies to sit. There was no reason a 17 year old or a 10 year old couldn't let me sit so I wasn't paranoid my daughter was going to fall out of my arms while I only had one arm to hold onto her with. I don't expect special treatment because I have a child I really don't but it's just common courtesy. On Space Mountain an entire family just kept sending more and more people ahead to meet their party right in front of me, I'm talking like 6 to 7 people. I was ONE person. Finally I went to say something and the one person in the party told me to go ahead. It just seemed like we had a major black cloud over us the whole trip.

HOWEVER, while waiting for DH to ride Splash, I was in the Briar's Patch just sitting on the rocking chair. A CM came over and we started talking and we hit it off, she was so so sweet. She went over and grabbed a Thumper plush for DD to play with. She fell IN LOVE. Her face lit up and she was over the moon. The CM took the tags off and let us have it! It was SO nice! It kind of renewed the magic for me. We also enjoyed the Top of the World Lounge SO much. DD really had a great time. She was so happy the whole time and did great in the car. I wish I had seen a fellow ROL'er I had my pin on my backpack all week!

I'm very late on this, but while I was at WDW (4/16-4-24) I did see one Rumors of Light pin!!

It was Thursday the 21st in the morning, and I saw a woman with a RoL pin on her backpack as I jumped on a bus at the Beach Club to head to Animal Kingdom. If I hadn't been jumping on the waiting bus I would have loved to chat and say "Hi! Nice pin! I coined that phrase!" but it just wasn't meant to be.

Despite no Rumors or Rivers of Light our trip and wedding was wonderful, and since it's unlikely we'll be back until September or sometime next year, I'm hopeful the show will actually be running by then...we'll see!

I'm sorry your trip had its downfalls but that was a great magic moment with the CM! I am a little worried about staying at ASSp in 2 weeks but I will make do. I've already decided to take a cab to AKL for Sanaa dinner and to Kona Café for breakfast. We are early risers so will hopefully catch the buses before a bunch of teens are ready for it
