Any podcast guest that makes you groan?

Kevin Smith is another one when I first watched, I was like - he is so negative, but over time, I realize that he is like me in many respects - he is not going to sit there and sugar coat something that does not need or deserve sugar coating. It just takes time to get used to people. I see it like this - there are people that will never get along at work, but as professionals, we learn to tolerate people. If you cannot tolerate it, then like Kevin says - no one is forcing you to watch. Find another podcast, you will not hurt anyone's feelings.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but I have to say there is one person whose voice and viewpoint just rub me the wrong way.

Why would you want to have someone that tries to entertain you every week hear such negative ridiculousness?

I'm sure the suspense won't kill you, but it could hurt someone.

Like most people my job can be stressful, and to combat some of that stress I started to watch The Dis. I now consider the hosts my Tuesday friends as they share my same passion, make me laugh, and allow me to feel as though my obsessive love of Disney is not as crazy as my other friends would have me believe. I tend to be a glass half full person like Jackie and Cathy, and can relate to them more, but I appreciate all members, even Pete, who probably thinks I am a terrorist for being a west coast ,hippy, vegan PETA member, who wants the tanks emptied.

Just an observation: I think more of John's personality comes across when he's hosting the Dreams Show... (that's a good thing) it was a shock to me watching an episode seeing him discuss something near-and-dear and being downright enthusiastic at times-rather different and refreshing from being "Johnny with the News" on the DIS Unplugged show. You can spot a moment of that energy when he's commenting on a headline about a cruise ship or something else that piques his interest like during a dining review where something unique/memorable had happened. Maybe Oliver could take over the humdrum headlines (new employees tend to want to impress, what better way to haze them?) and let John handle the ABD or dining changes/announcements and cruise line changes/announcements stories? I feel like the genuine passion that reverberates from the team (which differentiated the show from others' out there on the internet and got listeners/viewers hooked on the podcast) should always be highlighted/celebrated whenever it can and this juxtaposition stood out to me.

I understand you can only fake so much interest in "stupid tourist does x" for so long.

If there is someone that always bothers you why continue to watch? I have moments that I am not enjoying it but I just turn it off and go do something else. I always come back and realize it was my mood at the time because I enjoy the show when I turn it back on.

I realise that some of the things I say can be controversial at times, and I certainly don't shy away from giving my opinion and don't adhere to the bullcrap PC nature the boards can be at times, but seriously, this thread is click bait at best and pot stirring with a dash of nasty at worst.

Why don't we turn this thread into what we LOVE about the show/s?

I love Pete and Kevin's honesty
John is like a slightly more mellow version of Pete and Kevin combined, he balances them both so well
I love that Jackie is so cheerful and always sees the bright side
I love Craig, everything about him is great
I love Ryno, he's funny, witty and just plain adorable
Teresa is funny and also a sweet and caring lady, with a dark humor
JL is wonderful, she's a caring single mum, a professional and she works so well with those universal boys
Corey is also funny and knowledgable about Disney, and he eats heaps like me, love it.
Julie brings the mum aspect and always speaks her mind
Kathy is the perfect mix of Jackies optimism and pixie dust and Petes ability to call Disney out when need be.
Oliver is new, but he seems like he'll be a great fit with both teams!

I've probably forgotten someone, but you catch my drift.

Amen, Jes! I would fail miserably if I tried to list everyone and what I love about them, like you did. So I'll just agree with all you said, and add that even when I don't agree with all that everyone says, they still bring me information and entertainment, and always make me think. I love that they take the time, energy, and passion to do what they do with everything else they all do, and will continue to support and sing their praises for it. I also love them all for who and what the are, because they ARE all different, bring different personalities, takes, and skill sets to the table, and make the show (and my love and admiration of it, and them) what it is!!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and speak on behalf of Tonyz and say I'm 99.9% sure he was being facetious and knows he's a Brit.

It makes me think and every now and then, it actually makes me reconsider my own view.

Me too! I'm the proud winner of a Prizematron prize, too. I won a stay at the Swan a few years ago. I've also gotten a couple of DIS t-shirts from having emails or voicemails used on the show.

The first time I met Julie, I introduced myself and she said, "Oh Steve, I know you. I sent you a t-shirt."

My only REAL issue with the show is the lack of Abby. If we could at least get a weekly pic of that adorable dog, I will consider the show complete.
